Laying the Cards on the Table
Okay... so.. you don't like what I've been doing with OSI to recover from our 'crisis'? If you're still a player there (which means it affects you) say it to my face, don't leave a little "I don't like how this was handled" in your journal, because I can't discuss things with a journal. If you're not a player there- you left and your role has been reassigned. That means your opinion = non relevant to the character/RP in question. Rant all you like about it, but don't expect my sympathies. I'm done.
So you feel betrayed by _____ and like you didn't get what you wanted out of ______ ? It's called life. Welcome to it. I've been betrayed by better people than you, I'll live without your friendship if that's what you feel you need to do. Just take your toys and go home and let the drama die.
I subscribe to the 'get over it' theory. I had my few days of mizzy over the fact that things couldn't be worked out. Now it's done. I'm over it. As I learned when I was doing theater, the show must go on. Hell, we had an actor DIE in the middle of one of our productions... did we close it? No, someone else took over the role and things went on. Sure, we might have missed the original actor and had our own personal griefs, but life goes on.
I don't do drama. You got as much drama out of me as you're going to get- and I do very much mean all of you, even those I consider close friends. If you feel you can't be friends with me any longer, so be it. Tell me. I'll live. Life will go on. But I'm not going to be upset by this any longer. If you want to rant and rave about things in your journal, feel free to talk about me behind my back, just leave me out of the 'friends only' lock. Or if you're making it public, just expect that I'll skip over it, because I AM DONE WITH THIS. Period.
In case you have some doubts about what I've done, or will do in the future, here's the run-down:
I removed the people who said they were LEAVING from the community. This isn't much of a leap of logic. If someone says they're leaving, I'll respect their wishes and remove them and their characters from the community. Not to mention, I've had bad experiences with leaving people feeling the need to be spiteful on their way out the door- not that I thought any of you would do that, but it's a force of habit. When someone's leaving, you hold the door open for them and lock it behind to cover your interests.
I edited the rules AFTER the leavers were gone to be a more clear reflection of what I and other remaining players in the RPG did not want to have to play with. The No Slash clause. I will never be a fan of slash. I don't have to be. This is no reflection whatsoever on how I feel about gays/lesbians/bisexuals/etc. in real life.
I replaced the show characters that we needed to continue our RP as quickly and efficiently as possible so that play would suffer the least interruption. Again, this is part of the 'show must go on'.
I am going to kill off all of the original characters of departed players. Why? Because it furthers the plot, for one- and for two, because these characters are the copyright of their original creators and as such, it would be wrong for them to continue to exist without their players in the game as 'vague NPCs'.
Some show characters who we would have a hard time replacing, or who are going to further the plot, are going to die, too. Like...Kendra. Who was pretty much gonna die, no matter what.
If you have left the game and don't like how things are being handled now, I welcome you to stop reading. If you still play in the game and would like to contact me and privately and calmly discuss your legitimate complaints, feel free.
I will respond to no further comments left on the matter in this journal, or any entry in any other journal regarding this matter.
