Learning
Everyone's posting their school schedules. My friends list is really full of people posting their highschool and college schedules. I miss taking classes. I liked school, both High and College. I miss homework and term papers and tests, and learning new things, and class discussions and lectures. I know, this makes me a sick, sick person. One of these days, I may look into online classes in something- just to have that learning thing back again. I think that's why I enjoy all these writing exercise communities- the whole learning and discussing.
Critique
I had someone from a poetry community IM me today looking for a good critique. I did the best I could to provide my honest constructive opinion. It reminds me that I really need to dedicate some time to the poetry/writing critique communities I'm in and give my advice/opinions etc. on the works there. I think I'm going to try and set aside some specific time each week to just do that. I haven't been giving enough back to the writing community at large lately, and I really should.
Gaming
The Legend of the Green Leupak game is growing by leaps and bounds. We've got over 130 players now, and there's pictures in it, and Aus is basically teaching himself SQL and PHP and all that just by learning as he goes (he's so, so smart. Have I mentioned that? And not just because I love him so very much- he's really mad brilliant).
So yesterday night we had a big to-do about the OSI game.. while I was trying to GM my Pirate game on IRC. Needless to say, that was a juggling thing and a half. Thing is that I didn't even know that the problem was a problem until BOOM one of the players told me that three people were mad as hell at us. So... yeah. Hopefully we can get things straightened out. We talked to two of the people involved and got things pretty talked over, but the one who originally told me about the problem left..so I don't know where things stand still, and it's kind of upsetting.
Wayside (despite the problems I had GMing last night) went smoothly enough. Have to post for some characters there soon. I think the next big event will be a storm at sea.
I joined a game that my friend Gwen is running- playing a character I never played before. I think I'm doing a good job with him. Hope so.
Tomorrow we're going to play our Buffy IRC game! Yay!
Aus, Rich and I have been talking about making an LJ Buffy community using the BTVS Eden system. Hopefully our BTVS Eden playing friends (Like the Manwhore and Jenn!) will play, too! I think it could be a lot of fun. We just need a concept to get started with.
Have I mentioned I want Chaos Bleeds?
Oregon Trail rocks! There's just something about seeing people die of cholera that makes you nostalgic for the Old West. Now that'd be an interesting setting. Oregon Trail slaying! If the cholera doesn't get you, the vampires will!
I fixed up some of the pages for our Sunnydale Slayers game. Updated the Episodes, Quotes.. .added a picture of the Last Resort, stuff like that. I hope we get to play our next episode soon- I really love that game.
