What's the best advice you've ever been given?
From the monk, Linja, while I was in refuge at the Buddhist temple - "No one can make you happy or sad but you. All emotions are internal. We choose how we react to stimuli" (Paraphrased, of course- it's been years.)
Had you asked for the advice?
Nope, but I was talking about why I was there, and what was going on in my life.
Did you follow it?
Yes, wholeheartedly.
How did things turn out in that situation?
Great- and it continues to improve my life to this day.
