My Mean is Back

This is for those of you who have been concerned about my recent streak of super-nice.

Today, I was getting allergy medicine prescriptions for my girls, so I was in line... and there was this guy taking a long time, but I was in a good mood, and I was waiting patiently behind the sign that says "Please wait here to be served" Then this very large woman comes up with her obnoxious child, and goes to sit in the waiting area. I think nothing of it, other than that the woman is rather large and the child is rather loud. Then when the guy finishes his business, I start to step up to the counter when the Very Large Woman moves faster than a Very Large Woman should be physically able to and cuts in front of me.

So I say "Excuse me, I was next in line"

And she says "No, I was sitting right over there."

So I point out the sign.

She says "I'm sick".

I said "And that affects me how?"

And she said "Asshole!"
and I said "Yeah, but I'm the next asshole in line, so get out of my way."

So I start conducting my business, and the woman is complaining loudly about how she should be allowed to go first because she was 'in line, just sitting down' even though she was never anywhere near the line, and had, in fact, arrived after me. Then the obnoxious child starts swinging on the rope that marks the line and going "What is this, mommy? What is this?"

And the mother's ignoring her and bitching still, so I turned around and said "That's the line your mother should have been waiting in in the first place." The woman started to say something to me personally again, and I turned around to give her what Aus calls "The Look" (Which is really very, very scary I've been told) and her mouth just drops open, and she doesn't say anything at all.

I finish conducting my business, then smile sweetly at the woman and say "Have a nice day."
