Dead systems aren't much fun (No no no)

Well, looks like my old computer finally kicked it. Figures, considering it was about to be replaced when we got our tax refund back. Bah. Just like a machine to give up working a scant few months before it was set to be replaced anyhow. Aus tried to fix it last night, and will likely give it another go today, but I'm not holding any great hopes for it. Recovery discs cannot be found- which is a bummer, considering that they've been floating around for years when we never needed them- but my brother has the same old make and model, and knows where his are. So, baring any other fix working, we can always do the whole recovery polka and hope for the best. The destiny of the machine? Well, I'd love to strap explosives to it and take video of it blowing up- but most likely, it'll just be used for word processing and simple games by one of the kids if it manages to survive this. Was a good system, all things considered. I even have sort of a sentimental attachment to the old beast - my father bought it for me after I graduated from computer-ish school to replace my ol'386. Yes, I tend to wear the hell out of my computers- I even still have the harddrive for that 386, somewhere- or did until just recently. My father died about a year ago now... well, in 13 days it'll be a year. So it makes me a little sniffly to see the computer that he bought for me go.

The buffyrpers community is up to 33ish members already. Woo-hoo!

We're getting pizza tonight, yay! No cooking for me. And of course, getting two of my favorite toppings- ham and mushrooms. Also like: ham and pinapple, mushrooms and black olives... yeah, those weird pizza toppings. No pepperoni here- not on pizza.

There's a new Jesus Christ! Time Messiah up. Hopefully, they'll go up on a more regular basis soon. Aus has about four Rufus the Tulip comics to go up as soon as he's done doing them in MS Paint. Yes, Aus and I are both very funny people- but art talent, well, no. Not us.

Had much fun playing Nation States today. Traded some of my felines for some of Matt's squid. Very amusing.

A poem of sorts I just wrote up...

Boneless

graceful lines
milk-white and pure
burried deep
interred within
my tainted skin
if marrow
could
dance; break
free of the mass
extending beyond
the prison of flesh
sparkling
baked in sun
my strength
the skeletal hand
ever reaching
for stories to unfold.

I want to see the ocean again. It's been a long time since I've seen the ocean, and its so close. I hope that the weather will turn warm soon, because I want to go walk on the beach and drift away for a while. Drifting is nice, every now and again, so long as you remember to drift back.
