The din in my head, it's too much and it's no good...
Ow. Perfect way to describe my head right now. Pain is bad, m'kay?
I was marginally productive today, in that I worked on getting the
buffrpers community together and functional and such. I didn't particularly need another project, but yeah.. you know how I am. I kept waiting for someone else to make one and no one else was, so it became my baby. I collect more projects that way. =) Oh, well- I'm not happy unless I'm busy, so it's all good.
Still having fun with Nation States . Clever marketing thingus, really. I should think up a clever marketing thingus for my novel when it's finished. But first, the finishing. Monday is definately writing day. Woe betide anything that dare disturb me on Monday! I really want to get this next scene knocked out soon- because it's starting to haunt my head. Yeah, that happens when I can't write something down after a while- I start actually seeing little snatches from it in my field of vision when I'm not focusing on anything in particular. No, that doesn't make me insane! Really.
If "We Are All Made of Stars" were taken literally, would we call Spontanious Human Combustion 'going supernova' instead? Hm... things to ponder.
The NT Writer's Forum , my last big project, is up to 560-ish members, and is pretty self-sustaining now. I'm always proud when that happens- when something I've created gets to the point that it can exist with or without my intervention. I thought that the Neopets guild had reached that level of subsistance- with 1800 members and all that, you'd think that it would have. But Neopets is pretty much a suck game these days- doing not much more than being a drain on my psyche. Somedays I enjoy the games still, but the people I used to talk to - eh. Anyone who's a real friend talks to me on AIM, or via IRC, anyhow. So screw that, time to move on, as indicated by New Projects. Always a new undertaking while juggling at least three or four other things she wants to work on- that's the way L's are.
I'm still looking for a book to read. I thought I might start Dream West now that I finshed Son of a Grifter. But I hate to follow a true-crime with another mostly factual based piece- I'm in the mood for some light fiction, I think. I have a few other books in the queue, including that one by the fellow with the absolutely hideous name that I never want to be- but I do believe that I might just finish up reading the Reader's Digest (if I can find where I set it down at- my desk seems to eat things). Perhaps I will just go and make some obsene and childish things with my Legos for a while. I rather like Legos- Aus brought me home big red buckets of them a few months ago, and I like to play with them every now and again.
The kids are driving me slowly crazy, I think. They're at this stage where they have to whine and fight about everything. They're really quite unpleasant to be around. I wish they'd just move on to the next stage, already. I'm sure though, that since they're aproaching teenagerness, the next stage isn't all that grand and wonderful, either. Oh, for the days when they were little and the biggest problem was a dirty diaper or a skinned knee.
The Mystery Machine (a little bank I got for Christmas a few years back) is almost full. We save our pennies in it, and when it gets too heavy to drive across my desk anymore, it's time to take it to the bank. It's not very big, so it only holds about ten dollars worth of pennies all together- but saving every little bit counts, and it's fun, besides. One of the pennies I was going to put in there the other day turned out to be a wheat penny from 1945, so that went into my old and foriegn coins pouch instead. We're really starting to get quite the interesting collection of those- with coins from Thailand, Mexico, Korea, Belgium, Egypt...
Ah, well.. enough babble about my life. How are you ?
