The Republic of Angelauric is a tiny, socially progressive nation, renowned for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 5 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
The large government is mainly concerned with Social Welfare, although Religion & Spirituality and Education are on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 18%. A robust private sector is led by the Beef-Based Agriculture, Arms Manufacturing, and Woodchip Exports industries.
Crime is moderate, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Angelauric's national animal is the domestic shorthair feline and its currency is the laurel.
