Instagram & Threads Publishing Issue

[April 24 Update] We are currently working with the Meta team to resolve the issue. We will keep you updated as we make progress.


[April 23 Update] Some users may be unable to publish content to Instagram and/or Threads. Image uploads may fail with 'Only photo or video can be accepted as media type'. Video uploads may fail with 'Media upload has failed with error code 2207076'

This appears related to Meta API errors. Our team is investigating and monitoring the elevated failure rate. For time-sensitive posts, we advise publishing manually in Instagram.

DNS-related issues affecting Mobile App, Analytics & Engage, and external integrations

Mobile App, Analytics & Engage systems, as well as external integrations including Zapier, Pabbly, and Make, were impacted by DNS-related issues, resulting in intermittent disruptions to connectivity and service availability. The issue has now been resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Instagram Professional Accounts Collaborators Limit Upgrade 🎉

You can now tag up to 5 collaborators on a post! Previously, it was only 3. Including the creator, that’s 6 people sharing the spotlight! ✨

Instagram collaboration posts are supported for feed posts, carousels, and Reels too. Learn how to create collaborative posts here.

Issues with posting to TikTok automatically

We’re happy to announce that the issue with posting to TikTok has been resolved.

A TikTok API outage between March 24 and 25 temporarily disrupted automatic publishing for some users.

Since March 26, the posting functionality has been operating normally again.

Before retrying any failed posts, we recommend reviewing your TikTok profile to ensure duplicate content isn’t published.

[Fixed] Instagram Publishing Issue

 

Fix

  

Due to an outage, some users might receive a prompt to reconnect: "connection was lost to instagram" starting at 13:45 GMT+2. The issue is fixed now, however, those who received an email stating that their profile was disconnected, need to reconnect the profile in order to resume posting.

Analytics Improvements

We’ve made several improvements to analytics across our platform to provide more accurate insights and a smoother experience:

  • Extended historical data availability for Google Business Profiles

  • Updated Instagram metrics and tooltips for more clarity

  • Removed the Engagement % metric for LinkedIn profile post analytics, reflecting the actual data available from the official LinkedIn AP

  • Improved historical data selection to prevent empty results

Issues Publishing Video Posts to Facebook Pages

We're happy to see that publishing success rates for updates including videos to Facebook have returned to normal now, and we're no longer seeing the errors from Meta that were identified yesterday.

If you have any failed posts still in your queue in Buffer, please retry sending again now

Degraded Performance – RSS & Import Content Background Processes

During the week, some users encountered an error “Degraded Performance affecting RSS and Import Content Background Processes” which caused some import tasks to run slower than usual or periodically fail with an error.

The platform is completely stable and functioning normally. We are monitoring the situation and addressing the cause to prevent the issue from recurring.
