title. Build Each One of My Days Out of Hope (And I Give That Hope Your Name)
notes. I started this about a year ago and let it fall by the wayside until a few of my favorite tumblr darlings recently watched Brotherhood and I got re-inspired. This one gave me a lot of grief, but I think it turned out alright (narrowly avoided wrapping it all up with a super trite soaring post-rock tune - phew!). My biggest concern in putting this together was letting it stray too far into more-sap-than-a-maple-tree territory, so a lot got left on cutting room floor. There are no outright declarations to be found here, just healthy heapings of angst mingling with tenacious idealism and grit and subdued (but ever present) affection. The first half languishes and dwells a bit on the past, but the second half is all about overcoming and moving forward in symbiotic partnership, because there is work to be done and there are ideals to strive for. Idk, eloquence ain't really my bag, but hopefully this speaks well enough for itself.
