Wow! Sorry for not putting this up earlier!

I don't have any particular preferences in terms of story balance etc. My prompts were pretty specific, so I'd feel bad being any more dictatorial than I already have been. My only peculiarity is that I am not by any measure a fan of porn. If you feel that the story requires an explicit scene for the sake of plot or emotional resonance, by all means have at it! However porn for the sake of titillation tends to bore me.

Other than that, thank you so much for filling my request dear anonymous gifter! I can't wait to read it!

DEEP AND REAL FEELINGS ABOUT COMIC BOOKS

Okay so I've been trying to ignore this DC Reboot bullshit, but I admit it: I'm mad. I'm seething. I curr. I mean, god knows DC continuity's been utterly deconstructed over the past few years (since durr hurr Identity Crisis) almost past the point of salvaging because they keep digging themselves deeper and deeper but... you know what else was a terrible time in DC comics? Fucking early 90's extreme era and what did we get immediately coming off of that? One of the most infinitely readable periods in DC history. I guess bluh bluh you could argue that Zero Hour was a reboot, but having read a good deal of that era's comics it's always struck me that Zero Hour's reboots were for the most part irrelevant (excepting the Legion) and most of the repaired continuity was achieved through picking and choosing and ignoring the stuff that worked and the stuff that didn't.

There's apparently been a lot of assurances that the main thread of the DCU will remain untouched, but to be honest most DC diehards care more about the Z-listers than Superman, something that DiDio and the big guns at DC over the past few years consistently seem to just not get.

Also making Babs Batgirl again is the dumbest shit ever

Also Lady Gaga's new album is awesome and I love it but it's kind of like... giving me Shiny Toy Guns/Scissor Sisters/the early 90's thrown in a vat and folded together in unholy unity vibes.

Someone made a TVTropes page for one of my fanfics and I am actually kind of super embarrassed. While on one hand it's kind of charming that someone liked my fic so much, it also interferes with all my attempts to be cooly distant and I'm a little disconcerted that I have no idea who did it.

Although I am kind of glad that I am getting well known for my stuff that attempts to be plotty and not all my shippy bullshit. (~-_-)~

This is a dumb thing to be fretting over btw, should be totally bowled over with gratitude ect.

People keep telling me how good the Eleventh Doctor is and how I will like him even if I strongly disliked Ten and how Moffat's skeevy misogyny isn't even a little bit apparent in this new series and my interest was properly piqued so I did the logical thing and went out and instead re-watched all of the Seventh Doctor episodes because sorry RTD, Imma let you finish but Ace and the Professor had the best Doctor-Companion relationship of all time. Of all time.

But no seriously, I'm glad that I've been re-watching because I haven't seen most of these episodes since I was a kid and they use to air interspersed with Tom Baker before Quantum Leap and didn't realize just how much the McCoy episodes were steeped in seething resentment against the Thatcher government. Like, you could just re-title Seven's whole run as "British Anti-Protofacism as explained to all age groups the Series". My biggest problem with Doctor Who is that it's a really dumb show. Like, desperately dumb, but I'm starting to wonder if I'm making judgement calls here based on the majority of the reboot because I just cannot in good conscience call a gleeful screed against Margaret Thatcher posed behind a sadistic torture robot made out of confectioneries in some horrific and very intentional mish-mash of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Prisoner and Orwell dumb.

Hey friends list, a lot of you like Doctor Who. Please tell me why I should or should not be bothering with the Eleventh Doctor. ~(-_-)~

Shit guys I just wrote what is ideally my last essay for my BA. Fuck. Yes. Also if I ace it I will have gotten straight A+'s in both Historiography and Methodology because I am fucking awesome at history. So anyway, who else here has watched Farscape? I'm into Season 3 now and kind of loving it. It's not a show without flaws, but it's so goddamn fun.

Things That Are Awesome

- This show is lauded for exceptional characterization and character relationships and I'd have to agree with all the praise. I like that all the characters have notable relationships with all the other characters and that a lot of them aren't clear cut, as it should be on a ship full of prisoners and outcasts.

- I prefer puppets and models to CG any day and Farscape has some beautiful puppets. Especially Pilot. And beautiful makeup work too.

- Female characters all over. At any given time the core cast is half female and it passes the Bechdel Test all over the place. Additionally, each and every one of them is fully realized, flawed and complex.

- Scorpius is the stupidest damn name for a villain but somehow this guy manages to be one of the best villains I've ever seen in sci-fi. Equal measures menacing, clever, deranged, sympathetic and disgusting.

- The main character. "Normal person from current day Earth thrown into a crazy fantasy/sci-fi setting" is pretty much my least favourite genre trope ever, but Farscape manages to pull it off brilliantly by giving John Crichton reactions to his situation that are both hilarious and believable. His "OH GOD THIS IS ALL CRAZY BULLSHIT FUCK IT" attitude endeared me almost immediately.

- D'argo is so ~*~pretty~*~

- Nothing ever works out for the crew ever. The plot of every episode is pretty much like.

MAIN CAST: *spends like forever coming up with a thorough plan that's sure to not suck*
THE PLAN: *sucks*
MAIN CAST: "FFFFFFFFFFFF"

Things I Don't Like

- Stark. Seriously, I don't even give a shit about this guy and I hated his romance with Zhaan why can't he just go. Away.
