Fandom Meme!

Okay, I like fandom memes. I'm a fandom geek. Fear me be fandomy. (Not that anyone every replies to these. T___T)

A. Post a list of up to 15 shows/manga/fandoms.
B. Have your friends list guess your favourite CHARACTER from each show and/or SHIP-PAIRING.
C. When guessed bold the line for character and italicise for pairing and write a sentence about why you like that character or pairing.
D. Post in your own livejournal. (If you want!)

1. Naruto
Sasuke Uchiha (but there's still another name I'm looking for! ^__^)
Sasuke is half the reason I got into the series in the first place. There's something incredibly well written about his dark and angsty decent into eventual betrayal. There is something beautifully complex about his relationships with Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi and his brother. And there's something intensely amusing about how obviously gay he is.
Naruto/Sasuke
o__O It's the most popular pairing in the fandom. I suppose I have no excuse for liking it, but I can't help it. It's tragic, it's dramatic and occasinally, it's hilarious. And oh so there in the subtext. I mean, really.

2. Fullmetal Alchemist
Roy Mustang
He's handsome, sarcastic, smooth, manipulative and a complete and utter mess underneath all of it. I read the manga first, in which I worshipped the force of nature that is Edward Elric. I did not appreciate the more subtle charm of Roy until I watched the anime and fell hopelessly in love. Plus I apparently love military characters. o__O Apparently.
Roy/Ed
I go through stages with this pairing mostly because harukami (who happens to be one of my favorite fanfic writers ever) just makes me *buy* it in her fanfiction. Plus it's fun to joke about. o_O

3. Digimon
Koushiro Izumi
... is the childhoos love of my life. I qauired my love of geeks *and* my love of redheads from this character. He's so adorable and intelligent and... and... *arrogant*. ^____^ Nostalgia.
(No one's gotten my favorite pairing for this yet. I'd have imagined this one would have been easy!)

4. Xenosaga
Rubedo "Jr"
He is probably one of my favorite characters of all time (outside my original characters) and I can't quite explain why. There's so much symbolism behind everything about him, but aside from that I find his random swinging between careless, daredevil brat to startling serious intellectual rather charming. As Leslie said the moment he strolled on screen: "Jenn, he is *SUCH* a you-character!"

5. Metal Gear
Hal "Otacon" Emmerich
I got Metal Gear Solid by accident. I didn't ask for it or want it, but was rather given it as a gift by an uncle who heard it was popular and ignored the fact that he shouldn't be buying 'M' rated games for his twelve year old niece. Thusly, I was completely unprepared for the wonder that is Metal Gear. I just sort of ambled through the game however, until I met Otacon. For some reason the fact that the game had a geeky, anime-fan engineer was a huge tip off for me that this was no ordinary action game!

6. Tales of Symphonia
Zelos Wilder
If they have red hair, I tend to like them. If they betray your party, I tend to *love* them. If they have redhair AND a dramatic betrayal? Well then how could I resist. Zelos is just one of those characters I tend to like- where the things he says and does on the outside often reflects NOTHING of what's actually going on inside. Like Roy or... Omoidasu. He's very complicated. And fights pretty. ^____^
Regal/Presea
Because I love Regal and I love Presea and I felt that this was somewhat implied (at least more than Zelos/Sheena which is apparently semi-canonical...) and I can't believe that no one in the fan community but me picked up on it.

7. Cardcaptor Sakura
Eriol Hiiragizawa
Sometimes he's the nicest guy in the Universe. Sometimes he's just grinning and annoying. And sometimes he nearly borders on sinister. There's a lot of layers and complexities to Eriol Hiiragizawa considering he's a middle-aged reincarnated magician in a twelve year old's body. I sometimes feel that the series didn't dig deep enough into his character, but then somethings I feel that I'm just reading too deeply into things.
Eriol/Syaoran
Because Syaoran's kind of fucked up sometimes. And Eriol enjoys fucking people up. And it's fun to write because Eriol really does bring out the worst in Syaoran. And because Resuko drew so much pretty fan art. ^__^;; Lalala.

8. Animorphs
9. Harry Potter
10. Slayers

11. X/1999
Kakyou
He's delicate, nihilistic, fatelistic and melanchony. I'm not sure if this is typical of me or not. I love the way he just kind of stands in the background, reading everyone's heart and sighing about how tragic it is. He really is the anti-Hinoto- the Princess spends all her time desperately intervening while Kakyou's just kinda "Que sera, sera..." about the whole thing. On a random note, I'm also nearly equally fond of Karen in all her fashion-concious, smiling, pyro-kinetic, randomly catholic self. ^__^

12. Sonic the Hedgehog
13. Final Fantasy Tactics
14. *cough* Pre-war Ryuuguu *grin grin*

15. Um... South Park?
Kyle Broflovski
Somewhere in the fourth season Kyle suddenly becomes the voice of reason in the town of South Park. Maybe it's because Cartman finally began pushing him over the edge. Maybe his experience with exstesential philosophy changed him forever. Maybe it's just because Wendy dropped off the face of the planet and the show needed someone to fill her role. Whatever it is, intelligent, tempermental and occasionally self-righteous Kyle Broflovski became the sole, exasperated becon of common sense in the entire series. And I love him for it. And his hairdo. ^____^

I'm sure a lot of these are painfully obvious.

Edit: I forgot two numbers. Ooops. But I fixed the meme. ^__^;;
