Yeah my name!
I was sick today. I pick the absolute best days to be sick- guess what was going on in my apartment building today? Construction. They finally got some people in to fix that ceiling that collapsed in the winter. Yeah, I live in a place that's falling apart. -.-;; It doesn't much help that I live across the street from an elementary school either. Egads, I hate kids. I came in for work anyways, but by the time I got there I had a pounding headache. Three cans of Coca Cola later and I'm feeling a BIT better. At least Adam, Justin and Lindsay were there to keep me company. I was horribly bored this evening (I had, like, five customers. I'm not kidding) so I read about crappy stuff. Satanic cults are scary. Really. I have a sadistic writer's mind. -.-;;
The one good thing that came out of staying home sick today was that I finally stopped being apprehensive and sunk my teeth into 'Thief of Souls' (the sequel to Neil Schuster's 'Scorpion Shards'). Cat said that it wasn't as good as the first one, but I loved it. I was done by lunch time. I think the reason I enjoyed it so much was because I'm a big Michael fan and Michael absolutely OWNED this novel, much in the same way Dillon owned the first one. And judging from how much screentime she DIDN'T get, I think Lourdes may just own the third.
Just like 'Scorpion Shards', the book was depressing, unforgiving and not afraid of making it's heroes look like disgusting idiots. And more main characters die. Whee! This book also teaches you:
1: How NOT to deal with homosexuality
2: And to never except soul toast from strangers with indescriminant gender
Anyways, I'll stop talking about this rather obscure series (anyone else out there ever read 'Scorpion Shards'? T.T;;) seeing as most people are rather baffled and stuff.
Goodness, I am tired. -.-;; Good thing Mio let me off work an hour early. Not that I'm going home yet or anything. Staying in bed reading generally dissuades me from setting foot in my house for at least six hours. Besides, it's an oven in there.
Vegeta (the younger of my two cats) is sick. We really don't know what's wrong with him. I'm worried sick- you know how it is with pets, one day they're fine, the next they're not and then WHAM, it's all about the heart-worms and stomach tumours. Vegeta's only barely two years old, I really hope there's nothing seriously wrong with him. Mom thinks he just has the cat version of the flu, but I remember Lucky having that a few years back and it wasn't nearly THIS bad. Dad took him to the vet this afternoon, so I guess I'll find out when I get home. I'm expecting the worst. I'm nervous now that I'm thinking about it. Oh, I always expect the worst. What's wrong with me?
More depressing news: Rebecca didn't get into West Idol. According to her, her audition was atrocious. She was really broken up about it, but I doubt she would want me writing about it here. La la la. Irony is lovely- she didn't get to come to school today and see her rejected audition on school TV because she was performing in a big deal Musical Theater Production put on by our province's most prominent theater. Ha ha and ha again.
