Dear Hideo Kojima,

Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Mr. Kojima, if you remember we became acquainted when I was twelve years old. I was an impressionable girl back then and although I'd been playing video games almost my entire life, I'd only owned my Playstation for a year. I was an RPGer at heart and had't even dreamed of picking up an action game until a man called Solid Snake found his way into my soul.

When I was twelve years old, Metal Gear Solid rocked my world. It rocked it quite thoroughly. And not only that, it changed the way I thought about war, fate and patriotic duty. It taught me about Nuclear crisis, Genetics and dog sledding. It taught me the joys of strapping C4 on a guard's back while they're using the washroom.

I am forever in your debt for this, Mr. Kojima, and although Sons of Liberty made me question your sanity with it's ridiculously easy gameplay and rather inexplicable plot twists, I still enjoyed it enough to play it over and over and over again. However, I must say I was a bit miffed at you for that whole deal about Otacon and his step mother. I mean, really. Having a man graft a sentient arm onto himself is one thing, but...

... suffice to say that all is forgiven now. I'm sorry to have ever doubted you. Thank you for another fantastic storyline riddled with backstabbing, philospohy, passion and conspiracy. Thank you for once again questioning the nature of morality and patriotism. Thank you for innovative boss battles, challenging gameplay and a deeply intellectual storyline. Thank you for making Saving an interesting exercise. Thank you for beautiful music, gorgeous landscape and an absolutely breathtaking final battle. Thank you for connecting the past and the future so well. Thank you for making one of the mission objectives into a huge and mildly cruel Raiden in-joke. Thank you for a most innovative game of Russian roulette. Thank you for scaring the CRAP out of me near the end of the game. Thank you for making Ocelot say "Rawr". Several times.

Just. Thank you. Don't stop making games, ever.

Sincerely,
Loyal Fan and Gamer

Yeah, guess what I did with my weekend.

Yup. Words cannot express how good it was.
