Bandanges are good

There was this weird, circular metal wire THING sticking out of the ground. WTF.

As a writer, I am completely aware that the above sentence was an absolutely unacceptable way in which to start a story, but really, WTF. I have no idea what this thing was. It was just like some metal half circle that GREW out of the sidewalk and remained there specifically for me to trip on.

Oh, and trip I did. It was a spetacular fall that left me flat on my face, wondering what the HELL had just happened. My discman flew three feet in front of me, my hat flew three feet behind me and my backpack flipped up and hit me in the back of the head, leaving me stunned for a few moments. When I *finally* got up, my right knee was bleeding profusely and it had little bits of rock embedded in it. My discman no longer closes properally and my headphones were jerked out of there plug so violently that one of the ear pieces now does that annoying thing where it fades in and out depending on the position of the wire. My hat's fine though.

It wasn't that bad though. I've certainly had much worse falls in my life, but there were two things that made this experience all the more infuriating (aside from the earphone breakage):

1: When I got home, I discovered that there were no bandages. There is, however, a BOX that once held bandages, but it is empty. So, my knee's just kinda... bleeding and I can't do much about it.
2: While I was lying flat on the ground waiting for my head to stop throbbing, two guys walked by me. No, no- wait. They didn't walk by me. That would have been almost polite. They walked OVER me. Like I was a piece of... I dunno... obstruction and I was obstructing their path of walkingness. Well, okay. I admit, I was an obstruction, but I was hardly an INANIMATE obstruction. I was a living, breathing, thinking, SUFFERING and BLEEDING obstruction.

... people suck.

Okay, now that I've ranted for five paragraphs about my minor-injury, I'd like to inform everyone reading my journal that if they wish to read my NANOWRIMO novel, it is posted at my writing journal.
