WebAdvisor, why do you never work when I actually do need to look at my classes?
This weekend is shaping up to be wicked despite starting kind of crappy. Although I totally raped my last exam in a dark alley (oh yes, A, you are miiiiine), I got marked down a ridiculous amount for my term paper in the same course. I made this one, gigantic, grievous formatting error, which I could understand taking a half grade point or two away from. Hell, I could understand taking away an ENTIRE grade point. But a grade point and a half? It's kind of nice knowing that my first C this year was actually a B+, but I can't help being annoyed at the fact my paper essentially went from approx. a 89% to, uh, a 60% because I put footnotes in. I mean, OOPS on my part (I-I don't even know guys, I wrote it in between pages of my epic research paper. I'm such a bad English major, I don't even know sometimes T___T), but guuuuh. *head desk*
Also, our power bill randomly went up about $30 during the month where we: a) got energy saving lightbulbs and took some lightbulbs out of light fixtures in the dining room and bathroom, b) stopped leaving so many lights on all the time and c) actually started turning our computers off once and a while. Yeah, yeah, people's power bills generally go up in the winter, but we kind of made a conscious effort to start saving energy, so uh, what?
BUT ASIDE FROM THAT, all day D&D + Christmas party was oodles of fun despite us picking a crappy place to eat. XD It was also full of Christmas cheer, candy canes and way too many cookies for seven of us to eat. Becca and I had Val over last night which was nice because Val is awesome and I... actually have NEVER hung out with her much outside of D&D, now that I think about it (though I used to hang out at her and Larry's until 3AM almost every Wednesday night during the summer). Today I'm heading over to the school because my Creative Writing teacher is having a little get together where she's handing out information on how to get published (!!!), then I'm going to go and drink with Cat and Natasha because... well, I don't really need a proper excuse to do something that fun.
BUT OF COURSE, THE ICING ON THE CAKE OF THIS AWESOMESAUCE WEEKEND
Oddly enough, something about the pacing, writing, animation and, uh, overall general quality of this episode struck me as generally below par the rest of the season, however I still enjoyed it oodles and just... laughed so hard I had to keep stopping it an minimizing the screen because it has been a LONG time since I've felt so EMBARASSED for a fictional character as I was for Zuko.
WHO BY THE WAY. IS THE MOST ADORABLE DORK EVER. OH ZUKO, YOU ARE THE MOST AWKWARD AND TYPICAL FAIL-CONSTRUCTED TEENAGE BOY ON TELEVISION. HIS IROH WAS IMPRESSION- D: AND :D. SIMULTANEOUSLY. And, wow, Iroh's new voice actor, uh, all of a sudden has the role pretty much pitch perfect. Squee, and all that.
And I just love how Zuko was all: "STUPID GRIN I AM DOIN' GOOD." when they finally (begrudgingly) let him into the party and, like, five minutes later Katara was all like: "BITCH I'M GONNA BREAK YOUR KNEECAPS, SO WATCH YOUR STEP." Oh Katara. ♥ Never change. I'd actually given up on the idea of Zuko being the one to teach Aang fire-bending (Iroh still would have been wicked cool), but this... this is going to be so fun. ARRGH, CHILDREN'S CARTOONS, WHY DO I LOVE YOU SO MUCH MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE? I am so glad no new episodes came out while I was writing my epic amounts of term papers: I never would have gotten any work done. :P
Although, the best part of this episode: Sokka's sexy, makeshift triangulation. HE DID TRIANGULATION. IN HIS BRAIN. ♥
