Listens: Love Will Grow; Final Fantasy II

"SHINY! Shiny, shiny, SHINY!" "Can anything be THAT shiny!?"

I spent the better part of yesterday after my History exam watching this Final Fantasy Retrospective and getting all emotional and nostalgic. I think it's the time of year- considering the traditional North American release dates of FF games, I always end up playing them around winter time. :P Although instead of, uh, getting my butt in gear to finish XII (ugh?), I've been replaying FFVI these past two days. ♥ Now that's what I'd call time well spent. XDDD WHY DO I ALWAYS FORGET THE WAY THAT GAME IS MADE OF PAIN AND DEPRESSION AND, SOMEHOW, ADORABLE.

The point is, fuck you video game fandom, I love them all. Even FFVIII. Especially FFVII. I mean, seriously. I guess maybe I'm only saying this because I jumped on the FF bandwagon during the 3D era, but that was STILL ten fucking years ago. Gamers need to get over this 16-bit/PS-era RPG blood feud so we can unite against the legions of young, clueless noobs who've never heard of Ocarina of Time (I'M, UH, NOT EVEN MAKING THAT UP).

Everyone, please take some of Nobuo Uematsu's most lovely compositions, remixed and re-arranged for your listening pleasure.
