I went manga shopping today while everyone else was in school (yipee for me!).
I bought:
Inu- Yasha 15 (I love Miroku and his perveted and occasionally pedophiliactic self. I'm glad he's got the ONLY good voice in the dub. -.-;;)
X/1999 6 (which inspired the fic 'The Minutes' and proves that Fuma's "feeling up Kamui" fetish was NOT a product of his insanity)
X/1999 12 (making good on my vow to collect the series from vol. 10 onwards. And... and... Subaru was on the cover! ^ ^)
Of X/1999 12:
Page 49... that's a nice little visual cue to Tokyo Babylon. Hmm, when have we been here before people? (Think vol. 5 TB: "Seishiro-san! SEISHIRO-SAAAAAAN!")
Fuma: (to Seishiro) "Not that you have an CLUE what it is. Heh, his *true* desire- it's not what you think."
The question here is: What did Fuma think Seishiro thought Subaru was thinking? ^ ^
I rented Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner last night and beat it this morning with a play time of 3:43. *blinks* It took Zavin and I six hours the first time. Still, it didn't feel as short since I played from the beginning. *drool* Man, does that game ever make Cell Shading look GOOD. And despite all the lovely little Kojima plot about "Metatron's Will" and Dingo and Ken and Nohman... I still feel that ZOE at it's heart is a love story about a boy and his computer.
ADA: "Leo was also hesitant to take human lives."
Dingo: "So you're the kind of woman who does what the man she loves wants?"
ADA: "I... do not comprehend..."
ZOE games= good. Painfully short, but incrediably GOOD. And oh so playable. ^ ^ The speed and ease of play shows that Hideo Kojima's no one trick horse when it comes to game design. Aside from story lines that veer into "What the hell?" land, it's hard to tell that ZOE and Metal Gear came from the same designer.
Ooooh, I can't wait until Snake Eater.
I had some semi-serious stuff to say here, but talking about video games and manga is so much more fun. Or something.
I'm going to work on Cessation tonight. And I am serious this time. No, really? Why are you laughing?
