LIFE DOESN'T SUCK A LOT BECAUSE STUPID PEOPLE ON THE INTRAWEB KEEP ME WARM. :D
TRUE FACT: Lucky Charms are the bestest cereal in all the multiuniverse.
There are a lot of Lucky Charms in my apartment right now and that is a good thing. ♥
A not good thing is: I got my tablet today. And so this serial port I need to plug it into? I've only got one of them in the back of my computer and that's where my monitor plugs in. YAY? :P :P :P
Another not good thing is: that Leslie and I went to Park Lane theater on assurance (BY WAY OF OFFICIAL WEBSITE) that Grindhouse was playing at 7:30PM. Except that it wasn't. And then on the way out, we ran into Jeff (Dawn's sister's boyfriend) who made us feel even WORSE about it by exclaiming- with animated hand gestures: "You haven't seen it already!? WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU!?"
Leslie and I went like this: :'(

RE: Dumb fandom debates. I swear, when I read people being complete morons about about things with actual relevance to, y'know, LIFE I get really depressed (re: my hilarious YouTube debate about whether or not Muslims were evil. which was full of lulz but mostly me being horrified that these people hadn't been weeded out of the gene pool yet). But man oh man:
Tomoyo/Eriol Shippers are still full of hilarious, delusion and inability to separate fanon from canon even years after the fact. This is also one of those arguments where both sides are wrong. My favorite line:
Maybe Eriol has feelings towards Tomoyo. Because i've read a fan made diary and it said that Eriol spent a day inside a room with TOMOYO!!!
............ right.
ALSO: Cracked out Marvel fans, what the fuck:
"DC comics is just simply more infantile compared to Marvel. Marvel is about adult and mature themes, the problems that you and I encounter each and every day about responsibility and right and our nomal lives while DC is about guys who dress up in bat suits fighting clowns while endangering chilren or some wish fulfillment story about a kid who magically turns into an adult and finds his orphaned sister and his big brother sidekick.
DC = ludicrious and infantile stories
Marvel = serious stories that address current issues that effect our lives"
I just... *shakes head* It goes without saying that none of this is true. The two companies pretty much even out in my opinion. I've developed a huge DC bias simply because I've found more characters I can emphasize with and care about at DC (and I like the way DC embraces the ridiculous from time to time, although it's falling into the same "dark and gritty" trap that's making me want to disassociate myself from Marvel forever), but when it comes down to it, it's all a matter of personal taste.
THE THING IS- I see a ton of shit like this from Marvel fans (trust me- when I was a Marvel-only fana year ago I said the exact same things about DC. Only, uh, smarter *nod nod*), but I never, ever see the DC-fan backlash. Most DC fans are just kind of like: "lol our canon is silly and ridiculous like a bad acid trip." or "OUR CANON IS ICONIC LIKE GOD, but still silly and ridiculous like skittles." While Marvel fans are all: "Our canon is to be REVERED like God and ALL OF IT IS SRS BZNS, especially Civil War."
ALSO, BY THE WAY: *MOST* (most) SUPERHERO COMICS ARE NOT ABOUT "adult and mature" THINGS. THEY ARE ABOUT FUN.
If anything Marvel comics is more edgy, more realistic and overall much more better written and edited than DC whose characters are all practical throwbacks to the 30s or 40s. Frankly the only people who really like DC are the ones who grew up or were born in that time period. Anyone else probably just buys DC either because they don't like Marvel or resents the fact that hispanics and foreign artists and writers are working there."
ONLY MIDDLE AGED RACISTS LIKE DC, WHOOPS. Also, the companies kind of trade writers and artists, so those foreign artists who work for Marvel? Probably do work for DC as well. *EYEROLL*and DC pwns in the women department because they have GAIL FUCKING SIMONE.
BUT OKAY, OKAY: "DC has no proper sense of history. If you don't have a strong foundation based on continuity, you can't move forward and frankly the DC editors suck at continuity "
UH, SO. HERE'S ONE THING THAT I LIKE ABOUT DC *OVER* MARVEL. SURE THEY RETCON TONS OF CRAP AND THINGS CAN BE CONFUSING SOMETIMES, BUT I CAN STILL SUM UP DONNA TROY IN ONErun on SENTENCE. I CANNOT DO THE SAME THING FOR CABLE. Marvel fails at continuity. I mean- for goodness sake, Wolverine's entire backstory is a matter of people FORGETTING WHAT THE HELL WAS UP WITH HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE and just making crap up arbitrarily. But y'know, I kind of love them for that.
"Why do you need Superman when you have the Sentry? Why do you need Wonder Woman when you have Thor or Hercules? Why do you need Batman when Midnighter or Moon Knight are much superior copies?" ahahahah. Hahahahaha. Ha ha ha.
Fandom, this is why you are my favorite hobby. ♥
