Sometimes I want to throttle Gregory. Or maybe just beat him to death with that froofy, polka dot umbrella of his. Funny thing is, I'm not really that angry off at him because that's just how he is. I'm more pissed off at my mom, but still... *twitches and wants to push Gregory down the stairs*
Yes, I am quite aware that no one really knows what I'm talking about, but that's okay. Don't worry. I'll stop being angry in about five minutes. ^ ^ I don't like being angry at my friends (especially not my close ones. Ick.)
Anyways, I just saw Revolutions with Leslie, Caily, Justin and Adam (for Adam's sake, I will refrain from referring to them as "The Twins").
Um... I enjoyed it.
I enjoyed it quite a bit, actually.
In fact, I think I might have liked it better than the first one. Lots of death, lots of staggering awes, scary looking machines, apocolyptic situations and crazy, Handel-esque music. Oh, and Seraph. Seraph taste testing cookies and being a babysitter. ^ ^ (what is it about him that makes us geeky fangirls love him so?)
Some problems: I've realized that I really hate when The Matrix makes gun fights look glamourized. There was only one in this movie, and though it *was* extremely awesome as gun fights go, I sat uncomfortably through it wondering what kind of sick ideas crazy, gunloving idiots were getting from it.
Neo and Trinity's relationship sucks. It is SO boring. Not just boring, irritating. I hope I never fall in love like that. I'd have to hate myself. -.-;;
Um... some of the final battle looked stupid because they were flying around doing the "Superman" thing. Uh, no. That does NOT look cool, not even if it's followed by some uber-kung fu action.
Things I liked a Lot: The ending. Open ended resolution.
The fact that Neo was blindfolded for half the movie so we didn't have to watch Keanu Reeves terrible acting.
The MUSIC! (especially near the end)
The pacing of the story was very good. Also, the drama and the suspense were perfect. In "Reloaded", a lot of the scenes dragged on too long because the movie was written sloppily, so a scene would make it's point and then... continue for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON. Revolutions was so well paced it's amazing. The two stories happen in two chunks, but it is very, very well done. It probably wouldn't have worked as well if Neo's plot and Zion's plot had been interlaced. Classic Star Wars action doesn't always work during Final Battles (you know what I mean: Five minutes with Luke, Palpatine and Vader. Five minutes with Lando, Ackbar and the Mellenium Falcon. Five minutes on the Endor moon with Han, Leia and the Ewoks.)
And, just, wow. I think the movie had a profound effect on me. During the 45 minute battle scene I just sat on the edge of my chair, chewing my nails, shivering and periodically saying: "Oh. My. God." out loud.
And... and... I *really* don't like those drills. Those are, like, the things I used to have nightmares about when I was a little kid. -.-;;
Conclusion: Yes, yes the Wachowski brothers have made up for Reloaded in my mind. I loved Revolutions, but do not doubt for a moment many people will leave the theater jilted and dissapointed.
2 weeks ago:
Jenn: "I just don't think it will be apocolyptic enough."
Leslie: "Hmm, guess we'll have to wait and see."
I've seen.
