If you happen to be working on some new writing project, fanfiction or what have you, post exactly one sentence from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favourite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else -- this is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s).

I'm wordy and thus posted a few sentences from each of my WiPs. XD

Stick's B-Day fic (yet without title, even though I'm, like, three lines away from finishing it
Fullmetal Alchemist, Roy/Ed request
There's nothing solid or stable about it, nothing honest. It's not the kind of affection that can be held in one's hands or examined under the light. It's like sand or water, raw materials slipping through fingers onto the cold cement, words spoke in secret languages and imaginary code.

Tales of Symphonia
Raine turned around to watch her younger brother's back with equal measures of clinical curiosity and sisterly concern. It was Lloyd who stepped forwards and asked, "Genis, what are you doing? We should..." he trailed off as the half-elf rose slowly and looked back at him over his shoulder.

"I- I never really liked him." Genis muttered, voice small and shaky.

Cardcaptor Sakura, because I am still working on this fic dammnit
What Syaoran tired of was the battle. The battle with the cards, the battle with Clow's legacy, the battle with himself. He was a warrior- a valiant knight in search of honor, but with no Kingdom and no Queen to protect was there really any reason to continue fighting?

Ryuuguu Book I
Original
Achisuto Saisho- brother of the warrior Senshi Saisho, apprentice to the great Alara Yurei and a celebrated ryu mystic in his own right- was struggling with his buttons. Mirai tried not to find the situation hilarious, but was unfortunately fighting a losing battle as he watched his friend fumble with button holes like a barely grown human child. He glanced at Achisuto over the top of his playing cards as he shuffled them, “You need help with your tunic?”

“No.” Achisuto grumbled, trying desperately to do the top button. Mirai shrugged and went back to his card. The silence grew until Achisuto dropped his arms and sighed in resignation, “Yes.” He admitted dejectedly, letting his head fall into his open palm, “I don’t know why humans couldn’t just grow fur like every other creature. Having your clothing attached to your skin makes everything easier in the long run.”

Illuminati: CURRENTLY BEING REWRITTEN
Original
He drank very strong coffee. Lacey didn't know much about coffee, especially not the kind of coffee that one buys at midnight for something like six dollars and fifty eight cents. It was very black and very smelly, with a little circle of inky circles spinning in the center of the cup like the nucleus of an atom.

You get two Illuminati snippets because, although I love the above passage for no apparent reason, I'm sure a lot of you have already read it before being that I randomly handed out the first seventy pages of Illuminati to several people. The following exchange is from, like, the last leg of the novel. o__O

"Morality doesn't matter very much to me," Lacey sighed, closing her eyes and leaning her head against the peeling, wooden wall, "But it seems to me that people cannot control their thoughts. A person can think whatever they like and there are no ramifications whatsoever. It's acting on your thoughts that causes the problems."

"You're always so wise, Watson," Zachairah whispered, a bitter edge of dark sarcasm dripping from his words, "But that's not true. If you think about something, there is a heavy cost on your heart and soul. You bear the burden of having thought such horrible things and those things will come back to haunt you for nights upon night until you can't bear your demons anymore."

"For a moment there, you almost sounded spiritual, Zachairah."

And that's about it. I don't have anything fromt he draft of El Paxis Domidria because it's in script format and thus all messy and... stuff. o__O
