Ouch.

So this has to be said:

HOLY FUCK LOST.

It is now my opinion that 'Lost' is the finest Prime Time drama to grace television since... since the glory days of 'The X-Files'. It is one of the most brilliant, intelligent, complicated and tightly writtens pieces of fiction I have ever experienced in my life.

And speaking of Prime Time television, I have to wonder how a show so brutal, violent, unpleasant, eerie and downright taboo as 'Lost' ever GOT on Prime Time let alone gathered the following it has. Maybe there's hope afterall?

So, for those of you who are confused and wondering: "Isn't 'Lost' just like some sort of fictional Survivor series." I assure you that it's not. It's about a group of survivors from a plane crash on a tropical island in some undefined part of the South Pacific. Although there are over fourty Survivors, the show focuses on fourteen people in particular- all of whom happen to have some seriously fucked up, fatalistic back stories that are slowly revealed to be subtly intertwined. It's no ordinary cast away show- it's a varitable MIND FUCK. I have not felt my emotions and intelligence so cleverly manipulated since I marathoned Evangelion when I was thirteen years old. There's something off about the series- the way it randomly interjects religions imagrey and the way that it implies strange things about fate and coincidence and retribution and... it's just... good.

Really, really good.

And it's obvious that the real reason the plane crashed was thanks to the main characters' collective self-hating angst weighing the entire jet down. WAY TO GO GUYS.
