Long, rambling entry on Kayaking, caffiene and shooting people in the head.
I went Kayaking today. In the ocean. I felt generally detatched and kind of out of it today, but I still enjoyed myself immensely...
I went with Adam, Melissa, Kenzie, Tanya, Zack, Evan and Maria (who I don't know very well, but is very nice). My arms and legs are complete JELLY right now, we were out on the water so long. Holy crap. We traded off single and double kayaks- on the way there, Melissa and I had a double and I steered horribly thanks to, y'know, not paying attention at all to where we were going. *whistles innocently* We took a break halfway through the first leg and went on a hike through the most BEAUTIFUL waterfall. Well, it wasn't so much a waterfall as it was a huge hill of boulders with clear spring water running through it. We came across this gorgeous lake with incredibly warm water, and Tanya, Maria and I went for a swim. I didn't have a bathing suit, so I jumped in with my clothes on and was freezing for the rest of the afternoon despite the weather. Ha ha. ^___^;;
The middle point of our journey was a cove where the water was so clear, you could see the bottom. Seriously, I didn't think we even HAD water like that this far North in the Atlantic. It was like tropical pacific water except, y'know, cold enough to give you hypothermia. Then we proceeded to act like morons and grab each other's kayaks, creating a huge, six kayak rig. Which we managed to steer successfully in a circle because we're cool like that. ^__^ And then Zack and Kenzie decided to have a water fight with their pumps and our guide began rolling her eyes (she was incredibly awesome).
I'd like to Kayak more often. Unfortunately, it's very expensive. I trailed behind the group once I got in the original kayak and admired the scenery- I do love water in many ways, and I absolutely ADORE our coastline. I just am terrified of deep water and can't swim to save my life. But kayaking, I could totally handle that on a regular basis. < /random >
Oh, and best snippet of dialogue EVAR.
Kenzie: "Oh, don't worry about me. I plan to leave this world the same way I entered it. Completely naked, kicking and screaming."
Zack: *pause* "... and through your mother?"
Kenzie: "No. Nonono. Let's not even go there."
Is so awesome that it's just... awesome. I'm glad Dawn totally conned us into playing this game because it kicks ass three ways from Wendsday. TOTALLY FILM NOIR! Cheesy voice overs, melodramatic metaphors and a whole lot of kick ass. And, despite the fact that I totally cannot figure out how to move the camera efficiently, I'm sitll good at it. I think that this is the first game that Dawn, Tim and I have played that I've actually been able to, y'know, DO without having a complete mental breakdown.
And the fact that you can go slow motion in that game also rocks my socks rockingly. ^____^ Although I suck so much with the camera that I never bother to use the slo-mo option, but it's there. Tim has made a habit of turning on the slow motion at the most inappropiate times and lunging dramatically through doors or into bathroom stalls.
I'm drinking this energy drink right now that tastes EXACTLY like Barcadi Silver. Apparently this is heavy duty energy drink, yo. On the back it cautions pregnant women not to drink it and specifically states that you are only allowed one can per day. Tim drank two a few hours apart from each other. I'm curious as to whether this is going to have any real short term effect on his health. And also if Sobeys will give him the day off if he has a heart attack due to energy drink.
So far, the caffiene rush has failed to do anything for me. I'm still as dead tired as I was an hour ago. -__-;; Yay Kayaking?
My computer chair is more broken than usual tonight. I'd really hate for this thing to fall apart since it is the single most comfortable piece of furniture in the entire household.
And wow, I really want to make avatars/layouts right now, but considering I can't open an image in Adobe without restarting my computer five times tonight, looks like that's not happening. Yay.
