Brief Life update

Got a new full time job. Posted my first ever ficlet on AO3 against my better judgment. Over 1000 hits, 69 kudos (heh... I'm 12) and 10 comments. I think people are mostly liking it for the picture it's inspired by, but it's still a great feeling. :) If greatly inspired again, I may try writing something possibly longer. We shall see. That's about it.

Summer Movies YAY!

Go watch Iron Man 3 in the theaters! It's a great way to begin summer movie season! :)

So much love for everything in that movie. I want to snog RDJ and GP and everyone else involved in the movie. I can't wait to see it again. Have to try to see Disconnect next weekend for Alexander Skarsgård just in case it leaves theaters quickly around here because it's an indie.

After watching Iron Man 3, my friends and I had a nice late lunch at a pub. And my friends curls and treeofstars and I capped the awesome Saturday by watching Return of the Jedi - 35 mm 1997 print at the Egyptian Theater (same theater ROTJ premiered 30 years ago) with a fun crowd that laughed, clapped, and reacted throughout on May the 4th aka Star Wars Day. Doesn't get much better than that. I borrowed my friend J's Ewok cowl and ended up having a couple of people take pictures of me and my Ewok stuffed animals (Wicket, Wiley, and Leeni). The theater even posted a pic they took of me in my get up on Facebook. (thanks to J. for the find) I don't even remember taking the pic. :) It was so surreal but still really fun. I teared up a bit when the movie scrawl began since I was so emotional about finally seeing a childhood movie in the theater after all these years. And remembering the experience! (I was only 7 when it first opened) I then had a dopey grin on my face the rest of the movie and held my Wicket up a little bit for the celebration at the end. Yes, I geek to the extreme. :) They all look gorgeous on the big screen, especially Han and Leia.. just big sighs. Leia's slave outfit got a clap by someone when it first appeared. She just looked ridiculously hot. And then Han looked so damn handsome. Just so much to love. And then it was all topped by Mark Hamill (right after seeing Luke Skywalker on screen) walk in during a contest to talk to us for about 10 minutes or so. I flipped.. it was so awesome! This kind of stuff only happens in LA for the most part, which is why I love that city so much. Then we fan girl with photo-ops outside - I got pictures with Boba Fett then Darth Vader and two Storm Troopers outside. I fist bumped one of the Storm Troopers on my way out. It was an excellent fandom Saturday. :)

Anyway, I'm exhausted but so happy with such a great day and being able to enjoy it with my friends. Best Saturday I've had in a long time. :)

For being all flaily about the Borgiacest and the twincest on "Game of Thrones." In real life, I would be completely against any of this, but in fiction, "The Borgias" and "Game of Thrones" have made me root for these completely unconventional pairings. It also helps when the pairs are so damn pretty and have fantastic chemistry. And I still blame LOST for starting it all w/ Boone and Shannon who were siblings and then were retro-actively step siblings after their initially freaky but hot history flashback.

I'm telling you if someone told me ten years ago.. or even five years ago that I would be shipping incest on TV, I would have never believed. Just, hooray for fiction and how challenging but rewarding it can be.

And still on my C/L high from episode 3 of "The Borgias" so off to sweet dreams. :)

H50 = fun squee!

I do not watch Hawaii Five-O for the cases. I just watch it because I love Scott Caan lots (mostly since he was such a sweetie when meeting him twice), and I do really enjoy the rest of the cast - Alex O'Loughlin, Daniel Dae Kim, and Grace Park so much, but especially because I love my McDanno (aka Steve and Danny ship). So, last night's episode had lots of great moments for McDanno including a great scene in which Steve and Danny play football at the end. All I can say is how great it was to see Scotty run like the wind with his little legs moving and making a nice catch. But the best part was seeing him leap rather high regardless of wearing snug dress pants with some dress shoes. I seriously wanted to just put him in my pocket.. SO adorable! Look at Danno go! Hee! So much feels for this episode. Nice way to lead into a three week hiatus with such a fun, feel good episode.

So anyway, just wanted to share.. because of the cute!

Enjoying seeing family and friends. Bonus is seeing Five-O related stuff around town, including some dude's SUV near my parents' house that had a Hawaii Five-O grips parking pass. Stopped myself from taking a picture of it. :P Looking forward to more of my vacation.

OMG! H50 SQUEE!
OMG, what an amazing episode! This episode proves to me that the show is able to do it right, but for some reason, it doesn't quite get there as much as it could. Scott Caan kicked okole in this episode so much. He really had great scenes with Grace and Steve. I was floored by how passionate his speech was about the state of the world his daughter lives in. And Scott did a great job showing us the difference between Jersey Danny and Hawaii Danny. And that subtext of respect for the military and the first responders was really well done. That allusion to 9-11 was beautifully done. And the McDanno was off the charts in this episode. This felt way more McDanno than the boat episode by miles. The care and affection between them was so palpable, I can't even. And a HUG with teary eyes and rocking! OMG.. so beautiful, plus the way Steve watched Danny leave. And then the beauty of Danno and Grace was fabulous, plus Scott can dance. Wow! And everyone got something to do in the episode, including Chin and Kono chuckling at the boyfriends' joking. Cath and Max were ok, too.

Though, I'm shocked that those three major guest stars - Poitier, TI, and Howard were in the episode for such a short time.. they should have been used way more especially for how much they're paying these big names. Only complaint though.

One of the best episodes of the entire series as far as I'm concerned.

And the oddest thing is that when I congratulated Lenkov on a great episode and told CBS they should let them do more episodes like this.. Lenkov replied with a HA! WTF?! Anyway, I think I'll be re-watching this episode once a week until the end of the season. I would kill for Scotty to do an episode commentary on this one, but who knows.

I'm so happy about tonight's episode, and I hope the ratings are good so CBS lets them do more character based episodes. :)

Another birthday, another year

Currently relaxing at my friend B.'s home in LA. I'm glad I was able to spend my 36th birthday with friends. I cherish those birthdays with family or friends more than anything. My friends treeofstars, B., R., and S. had dinner with me at my favorite Texas BBQ place near my friend's house. Too bad they ran out of most of the food that we wanted thanks to a late notice catering job. Boo.. I missed my pit beans. :( But despite the limited menu choices, the company was still first rate. We had fun talking about so many different things, including politics of all things. We laughed at the "out of meat" sign that the place had posted since they had to turn away a bunch of people who came in for the BBQ, too. We all took pictures of the funny sign. Even though technically they closed at 10pm, we got out of there at 9:15, since it was obvious the workers wanted to go home since there was no more food to serve. After that amusing dinner, one of my friends had to go home while the rest of us went back to my friend's house. We talked so me more then finished the evening watching the pilot episode of "American Horror Story." What a creepy show and disturbing! It's a good show, but wow, I have to be in a certain frame of mind to watch such a messed up show. FX sure gets away with more sex and violence than TNT as far as I'm concerned. After that, we had to watch two fun episodes of "I Love Lucy" to get the taste of messed up TV out of our heads. :P Laughed a lot and was just what we needed. After my other two friends left, my friend B. and I chatted for a bit before she had to work. And going to bed after 2am (though it was tiring) was just a proper ending to my 36th birthday with friends. I hope to do it again next year because birthdays are best with friends and/or family.

I hate that I have to go back tomorrow for work on Monday, but at least it's a short work week for me - Friday is Nevada Day so it's a day off. I'm just glad that I got to come "home" here in LA to recharge myself to finish the quarter next week. Then, on November 11, I'm back here again for a Barbara Streisand concert with my friends. I'm looking forward to seeing a legend perform. :)

That's it for now.. guess I should post more but other than seeing Madonna in concert last weekend, nothing really interesting has happened in my life since my summer adventures. :)

I died looking at the adorable pics for episode 3 that just was released. No personal space and some intense eye contact in character and some smiles and a wet shirt out of character.

I can't w/ these guys. If CBS actually allowed the characters to organically develop, there would be progression in this relationship. But since CBS is not the network for that real relationship, then I have to hope and pray that all the fabulous fic writers in this fandom will treat us to fantastic stories based on these great pictures and the episode. :D

Work sucks badly.. overwhelmed by everything that's not actual teaching. It's mostly paper work, planning, and all the extra crap we have to do this year that the Chicago teachers are striking about over there. I'm basically a zombie getting to work at 6:30 and staying til like 4pm, and still not being done with most of my work. It just never ends. :/

But in nice fan girl news, my Hawaii Five-0 show will be returning next week. I was replied by on Twitter by Taryn Manning, who plays Steve McGarrett's sister Mary. And I was also replied by on Twitter by Larry Teng who is a director on the show, too. That always makes me smile to get that little bit of contact with those involved in the show.

Also looking forward to the return of Castle and Person of Interest next week, too. I also will try out Last Resort (gotta support another Hawaii production) and Elementary. And soon, The Walking Dead will return next month near my birthday, and all will be right with the world. :)

So hope all is well with everyone still out there in LJ land. Stay frosty, y'all! :)

True Blood (sorta spoilers)

So, I haven't watched this season very closely for some reason. I don't know if I'm just plain losing interest in the whole thing.

Out of the whole season, I think I've only watched five out of 10 episodes so far. But anyway, the writers have taken too long with the Authority storyline. I'm bored with it already. I'm tired of Bill and Eric playing minions. I'd rather them just confess their love for each other. But yeah, I like to see religion as metaphor on the show, not so heavy handed. But, anyway, the reason I still watch is Alex, Kristin, Nelsan, and sometimes Deborah/Ryan. Pam is still BAMF, which is awesome. She's turned Tara into a tolerable character this season. But Alex is tied up in the stupid Authority story line trying to save Nora.. who cares already? Nelsan is always damn fabulous, but his story line was tied up earlier in the season. And then there's Ryan Kwanten, probably one of the best actors on the whole show. He plays Jason as such a big hearted simpleton, but tonight, he got to show some emotional range. It's a shame because all of the actors on the show are decent overall, but they just get nothing of substance to play. The scene with Hoyt telling Jessica to glamor both her and Jason out of his memory forever was solid acting for all of them. It's just too bad this didn't play sooner, when it was more emotionally satisfying. Jim and Deborah played the hell out of the scene, too. I even tweeted my praise of all three actors in the scene tonight, and I am still tickled that Jim Parrack (Hoyt) favorited my tweet. As I've said before, Twitter is the new autograph nowadays. :) Anyway, I will be glad when all these good actors move on to another project that will use their talents properly, because seriously, most of them are getting shafted. And yay for Russell to finally take off and do his thang, but wow, it took way too long for that to finally go.

So out of my sense of being a completist do I even keep watching the show at this point. I'll probably buy the DVDs so I can watch the season properly. But, this is the first season in which I just didn't really care. I just hope that the show ends soon so that I don't keep watching out of obligation (which it feels like at this point) instead of actual enjoyment.

Adding to the classic movies list I've watched from the previous post

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum

Meet John Doe

And I just found out that itunes streams some of the classic films for free! So between that, the public library and Netflix, I have some sources to continue my classic movie watching when I return to LV.

One thing - I have become a huge fan of Hitchcock directed movies. I had no idea he directed such amazing love scenes, too. So anyway, we'll see how many more movies I can watch before I leave next week. :)

Blah blah blah and blah... aka lazy mclazy

Yes, I am still in LA. Seriously, if I could find a job here like in one week, I would quit my job in LV and then put in my one month notice on my apartment and just move over here already. But since my fantasy world is not reality, I am just chilling here and enjoying both the rest and time with my friends. Simply hanging out and talking for hours or sharing meals or just watching classic movies with my friend has been such a fabulously simple beauty of a vacation. Comic Con was fun in its craziness, despite some dishonest worker not turning in my forgotten camera bag and its contents (a used memory card, 4 extra rechargeable batteries, a lens brush, and 2 plain AAA batteries) and me being too tired in the first place and making the mistake of forgetting it. I should have made sure to put everything away first, but not enough sleep equals not thinking straight. Plus, I forgot to place a card inside my bag just in case it was lost. So mostly fail on me, but fail on the person who wasn't honest. Blah. So my new motto for next year's Comic Con if I do get tickets to go is "less crap" so everything will be on me and not placed in any extra bags. Too much to have to watch. And I think I need to look for another of those mini chairs since my folding foot stool was good but got heavy after a while.

Aside from that, I did get lots of posters and free stuff that I will make a concerted effort to give away this school year as incentives. I think I may take a little bit of class every Friday to reward students for good attendance, behavior, or achievement. It will be a great way to get rid of my SDCC swag I don't want and have no interest on selling on ebay. Not that I have ever sold anything on ebay, but I am thinking of selling one item though I worked hard for that thing. :/

In other news, I have been getting a proper classics and just plain good films education from my friend B. Ever since I have been here in June up until now, I have watched the following movies for the first time ever:

Some Like It Hot

Sunset Boulevard

Casablanca

North by Northwest

Notorious

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

Wizard of Oz

Gone With the Wind

The African Queen

A Star Is Born (via my other friend <lj user="curls"> - she was the adjunct instructor for this movie)

Vertigo

The French Lieutenant's Woman

Houseboat

Network

Bringing Up Baby

The Philadelphia Story

I hope I was able to remember all of the movies that we saw together, but it has definitely made me interested in checking out what's at my local library to see what other movies I can see. I have definitely become a fan of Hitchcock as a director - who knew the master of suspense could direct such romantic moments. Hooboy.

Anyway, this summer has been fabulous with the spending of time with my CA family. It will need to get me through the months I cannot just see my peeps because of distance and work. I've gotten used to seeing my friends just as much as they have gotten used to seeing me. So with that in mind, I'm trying to check out some things around LA if my lazy self would just get out of bed. :P

No Way Around But Through (aka my rambling thoughts about Scott's play and meeting Scott)

I've been tired and lazy since last Saturday, but it's time to write things down before I forget more of it. I am going to have to cut this because it will be lengthy and rambly, so bail now if you don't care. Plus, this is mostly for me and my own memories.

So I went to Scott Caan's play on Saturday, June 16 at 8pm. I took two X-Files friends, S. and A., who were on board with me fan girling over Scott. ;) It was good too because I had support/back-up for meeting Scott since I was really nervous. Truth be told, I think I was nervous since like June 8 since work finished, and I had nothing to distract me anymore. I took our tickets (of course), Scott's "Two Wrongs" play, a Sharpie, and my camera with me just in case. So I was hopeful to meet Scott but knew it was no guarantee since you never know about these things. So, there will be some spoilers about the play, so if you don't want to know.. scroll out. The venue was very small. The theater seats only 130 seats with 7 rows, so there really is no bad seat in the house. But, I wanted my second row center seat, so I don't know if there are bad seats elsewhere. I took pictures of the outside of the venue before we went inside. I picked up a couple of post cards outside of the venue that were nice little ads for the play. I'll probably keep them for nice little keepsakes. I had a feeling of who were Scott fans and the rest (season ticket holders or family and friends of the performers) - it was nice to see I was not the only fan girl there. Everyone was milling around the lobby before the doors opened to enter the theater. I was looking around while hanging out with my friends trying to see if any other celebrities were in the area. I saw Peter Lenkov come in with his group. And I did see him go to an area where Kacy was to talk to her in their little circle of people. Kacy is thin, tall and pretty in person. All I remember is her wearing a black dress and brown boots. I did not notice anyone else. So we're let into the venue, and we are quite pleased by our seats. It's stadium seating, so our level is right on the same level of the stage so I don't have to look up, just forward. We waited a short time while people found their seats before it started. It looked like Peter didn't know where to sit and was asking Kacy where to go. Peter and his group went outside, and then I didn't pay attention to them again. It was funny watching how people would all look around at each other. I don't know if it's because everyone is looking for other actors or just being curious, but it's something I noticed. Some fans were seated in front of me.

The play itself - very rapid fire dialogue. Scott writes dialogue equally snappy for both men and women. I laughed a few times because some of the lines are just so true to life, you can't help but laugh. I actually can't wait to read the play since I'm a visual learner anyway. Plus, I'd like to enjoy the lines properly. Anyway, it's a bit surreal to see Scott Caan right in front of you less than ten feet away. The first time he appears on stage, I heard someone in back of me say, "He's so small." I wanted to chuckle at that, but I focused on the play. He starts off the play with his character Jacob being taken aback by the news of his girlfriend's Holly's pregnancy. Robyn Cohen (Holly) had a very quirky, neurotic quality that worked for the character. The number one way to describe Scott's performance is intense - in all moments, whether dramatic or comedic. Scott does a great scene in which the emotions overwhelm him, and he does a stunt vomit on stage with the help of a smartly tricked out teddy bear. He did a fabulous job acting sick after the vomit incident that I was just impressed by how raspy, shaky, and full of sniffles he made Jake. And yes, Scott is the hands talker, ergo (heh), Danny is one, too. When he talked with his hands and used some cadences, it was almost like Danny, but not really. Now I think it's more of Scott himself being part of the Danno character. Scott did throw in some lines that made me think of Five-0 including Holly telling Jacob he sounds like a Hawaiian looking for a bathroom when saying "she she", and I almost guffawed (and I heard a couple of fans gasp quietly with me) when we heard Jake use the words "animal" and "Neanderthal." Except for that "she-she" joke, I don't think he was trying to channel anything Hawaii related, but it still bled through, there. Bre Blair (Rachel aka Holly's best friend) was the strong, tough, sassy friend. She was great. It made me want a friend like her. She was a good foil for Holly. Val Lauren (Frank aka Jake's best friend) was the blunt, but charming friend. Both Bre and Val brought something in their scenes that just made them enjoyable to watch. It was fine seeing them share a scene alone since it was like watching two sides of the same coin interact. Melanie Griffith as Lulu (Jake's mother) was a revelation. Seriously, she had such charisma just flowing off of her, it was difficult to watch anyone else on stage when she was on it. Though I did as best as I could and watched Scott as much as possible. ;) Anyhow, Lulu was so abrasive, blunt, and take no crap kind of woman that it was difficult for her not to steal the show. Plus, Melanie played her with such confidence and swagger, you couldn't help but stare. There really was no real ending for the play except that Jake and Holly come to an understanding. We don't know what's in the future for these two, but they had a meeting of the minds working through the issues instead of going around them. (hence the title I think) When they came out for their curtain call, I was a bit self conscious, but I did stand up after I saw someone else stand up. I made eye contact with Robyn and nodded, which she acknowledged. Everyone else was hugging and doing their quick bows before heading out. As for the rest of the production, it was very well done for a small playhouse. The sets were effective. There's a motorcycle scene in which you have to suspend your disbelief, but it still works. And Scott looks very at home on a motorcycle. The lighting was just right, focusing the attention where it mattered. The costuming was modern and appropriate to their characters. I loved the transitional music they used in between set changes. They played a clip of "Midnight City" by M83, which I loved.. so yeah, the music was great. I wish I could have used my Shazaam in between set changes but no phones. All in all, I was impressed by the entire production: writing, acting, sets, music, and lighting. So after they left, we slowly got up and made our way to the lobby.

That's it for the show.. now on to after the show...

And of course, this is where I got nervous again with the possibility of meeting Scott. So my friends and I were looking at old production stills on the walls - Gary Marshall (the owner of the playhouse) was in several photos, and it helped calm me down a little. We looked at where the fans were standing, so we followed suit and milled near them. So my friends and I were talking about the show, and I really wanted to meet Melanie Griffith, too, since she mesmerized me during the show. Then my friend A. asks, "Is that him?" I look toward a crowd of people, and it was Scott! I had to look twice since he really is teeny. He was in the middle of family/friends talking and shaking hands and stuff. It felt very intimate with his people, so I did not want to bother. Amazingly, the crowd starts to thin very quickly (like I said, most people there were friends/family/season ticket holders), and I see that the other cast members are kind of starting to disperse a bit. Never did see Melanie at all. Kacy was talking to a small group of people nearby. And then I see our chance. I see two girls talking to Scott and taking pictures with him. So, there are two other girls in front of me (one of them posted their pictures to Facebook not long after) and one guy (I thought he was an actor) behind me. So, I tell the girls in front of me, after you... and we all patiently wait since we've sorta made a makeshift line to meet Scott. I stayed away from all of the girls so that they all had their moment with him without anyone rushing them or whatever. I see one of the girls hug him, and then I want a hug! :P One of the girls waiting takes a picture of Scott with the other girls (no flash). I drop my digital voice recorder like a dork (not for the show, but for Scott, but I'm too nervous and forget to turn it on), so I just shove it in my pocket and move on. So the girl in front of me sounds nervous interacting with Scott, but she does get a picture with him.

And then just as he was about to turn around to talk to Kacy (once that happens = no more fan interaction as far as I'm concerned), I like a dork wave at him in front of my body and probably smile my dorkiest smile ever. He nods at me with a smile, so I step right up to him. We weren't that far away from each other, maybe an arms length or so. Ok.. the rest of this is hard to remember because I was so nervous. But, I did tell him that I'm glad I drove from Vegas to take my two friends to the show. I told him that I'm even going to bring another friend next week. He seems pleased by all of that. I ask him if I could get a picture with him. He says something like sure (I guess... remember, my squee is giving me memory lapses), and then we go ahead and get closer together. I place my hand behind his back, and I think he may have placed his hand behind my back, too.. who knows. LOL! I told my friend to take a closer shot so that you don't see my fat body, and the focus is on our faces. So after that, Scott asks, "Did you get a good one?" I look briefly at it and thought it didn't look good, so I ask him if we could take another one(?) He says that since I drove from Vegas, of course. We take another shot. Then I'm blinking dots (no pun intended) in my eyes because the flash was so damn bright. I ask him if he could sign my program, and he says sure. I grab a program in my bag's pocket. I also grab my Sharpie. I also was kind of fumbling since there were a few other things in the pocket besides the program. Eek.. fail. I tell him sorry because I think I accidentally jostled his hand either before or after he signed. I don't even notice him signing it, and I think I probably put the stuff back in my bag's pocket on auto-pilot. I told him that I bought the other play from Dramatist, and he nods his head. I told him that I would have bought it here if I had known, but I'm glad I got to read it before. I also told him that I can't wait to read this play, and he said that it's being published right now. This is where it gets really fuzzy. And I think I may have thanked him and then stepped forward to him, and he automatically stepped into it with me, and he gave me a hug!!! I didn't even ask for one; he just stepped into it. He felt so small and compact! I didn't notice any cologne or anything but I just noticed how absolutely small he was. Then my two friends asked to have pictures with him. I think one of my friends was saying something to him about the play, but my brain was offline because of the hug by then. Then my friend tells him it was nice to meet him. The two of them shake his hands. Then I fumble out, it was nice to meet you and thank you then stick my hand out. He takes me hand, and I shake it with two hands. And then I tell my friends let's go over my shoulder while we walk away. I did not look back because I was ready to scream. The other guy patiently waiting probably went straight to Scott after we left.

It was a good thing that we left when we did because I screamed so loudly once we were on the sidewalk that my friend said I scared the guy waiting for the bus nearby. I screamed twice and was on such a high. Scott could not have been friendlier, patient, and warm with me and my friends. He was very smiley while talking to me and just was so opposite the grumpy pictures we see of him on the net. He did not in any way rush us through our interaction, and my friend was the one who signaled the end of it. Even my friends agreed that he was very nice. This was probably one of my best "famous people" interactions ever, only trumped by Gillian Anderson. But that was a meet and greet for a half an hour. And now, I am spoiled for any other stage door experience in the future. Honestly, there was not much that could have been done to improve on it except for me to remember it. My friends told me they were so proud of me and that I did very well. They said I did not come off nervous at all, which I definitely was. We saw this black SUV waiting for someone as I walked back in a blissful haze. My friend A. said she thought that was Melanie's driver. I saw tall legs get into it, so it was definitely her. Everyone else drove themselves. Too bad we couldn't meet her, but I doubt she would have been receptive to being accosted on a dark street near the parking lot. So it was best that we did not do that, since she would have been in the lobby if she wanted to meet anyone. We went across the street for some after theater food. I took pictures of the marquee in the dark (didn't come out well, but oh well), and as we walked to the restaurant, my friend A. said, "That's him?" And we saw Scotty, the little speed demon in his truck gun it out of the parking lot with Kacy following in a crossover.

After this experience, I am definitely a newly affirmed Scott Caan fan. Knowing he did two shows that day (both emotionally draining I'm sure) and still being energetic and attentive with people afterwards made me really admire him. Plus, of course, him being excited about his own words being performed was probably a huge adrenaline rush for him. I am proud of him for his success with this play (sounds like most if not all performances are sold out), and I really look forward to him hopefully doing this again very soon. And seriously, if you ever get a chance like this, do it! This is the way to meet a favorite actor. Sure, red carpets are exciting, but the interaction is not as meaningful as something in which there is really no one or nothing around to distract, and his attention is just on you. So I go again next Saturday for the matinee, but honestly in my head, if I don't see him again... it's all good because there's not much more else I can ask for at all. Now I can really focus mostly on the play and not on my nervousness of meeting him. And thus ends a close to perfect fan girl experience of this Hawaii 5-0 and Scott fan.

Oh, and here's a couple of pictures. ;) I did not post them on Twitter or share on fan sites because I just don't like my face anywhere but here on my LJ or my friends locked Facebook. So for those not on FB with me:

This first shot also had a better Scott grin than the second.. so yeah, second shot not so great. LOL! :D

He has a very nice autograph. :)

And if you got through all of that, then congrats! I write lengthy and boring for myself, so kudos if you were bored enough to read it all. ;)

California Dreamin' aka day before Scott Caan's Play

So I got into LA yesterday evening after almost 6 hours! Usually it takes me 4.5 hours, but I started really late. I'm a terrible procrastinator when it comes to packing, and since there was no plane to catch, I left it until the last minute, so yeah.. left NV close to 1pm. Traffic delayed me on my way to Barstow because of construction (shoulder work), so I lost 30 minutes to that. Then, I hit the normal LA rush hour, and that took away another 45 minutes or so. I basically got into LA around 6pm. So anyway, I keep thinking what I may say to Scott after tomorrow night's performance since I do not want to choke like I did with James Marsters back in April. The good part is that the two friends who are going with me are total extroverts, and one of them is a working extra/actor right now in various TV shows and movie sets. She actually will be attending Play House West (where Scott is involved) and has met Scott before, so she said she'll make sure I get to at least say what I need to say to Scott.

I can't believe I'm getting nervous after I've met some actors previously, but it's always difficult when it's someone you really like/fan girl over right now. So anyhow, I'm just thinking that I'll tell him something along the lines of this:

"I'm glad I drove here from Las Vegas to take two of my friends to your play. I'm even bringing one more friend next week. Gotta support your art, you know? I really enjoyed watching you act your own words."

I doubt I'll be that coherent to say all of that, but if I can get the gist of that out, I'll be happy. Plus, of course, I'll ask for him to sign either the program or his play, "Two Wrongs" - depends on how I see him signing for people. If worse comes to worst, I'll have him sign his play the next time I go. And hopefully I'll get a picture with him. I'm debating about asking my friends to take the picture for me with my camera or theirs. I just want it to come out half way decent quality-wise. As long as I don't look like an idiot, and Scott will look good, I'll be happy. I'll be sure to post about everything on Sunday (hopefully), but perhaps Monday. I'm going to the LA Film Festival for a foreign film starring Gillian Anderson (my number one actor fan girl object for 16 years and counting) with another X-phile friend curls so we'll see when I get a chance to post.

Until then... I brought my mini Hawaii 5-0 collection with me because I'm a fan girl, and that's what I do. So here's a picture I took before leaving home since the tickets for Scott's play will lessen once I give them to their respective owners. :)

Anyway, wish me luck that I don't freeze up tomorrow night! :P Til soon! :)

Happy True Blood Season 5 premiere tomorrow! Season 4 release today!

After an interminable year of waiting, True Blood is back on June 10! YAY for new episodes, but boo because I am missing the red carpet premiere tomorrow! :( I cannot take off in the last two weeks of school so no dice for me this year. Heck, some of my Truebie sisters I met at the red carpet last year can't make it either because we all bet on it premiering in mid June like it usually does.. but oh well. So I am hoping that my Truebie sisters who can make it will take lots of pictures and video to share.. and will write long, detailed write-ups of the red carpet this year. But, seriously, I am so gutted about it.. I am going to hate work extra hard tomorrow, knowing what I'm missing out on this year. So in the meantime, I bought my Season 4 blu-ray from Target for the Paley FEST 2011 panel I attended. This is when I became a hard core Alexander Skarsgard fan. First, he was just so ridiculously charming during the panel (did the same thing at Comic Con 2011's panel, too), but most importantly, he was SO gracious signing for fans on the stage after. I held out my calendar and was hoping to hope that I would get his signature, and I thought I wouldn't because I was too far back. But bless Alex for staying up on stage and going back and forth on both sides of the stage several times before he was led away. He literally was the second to the last person to leave before Sam Trammell. And thankfully, some guy fan near me got his attention, and he grabbed my calendar and signed the Eric picture in my icon. I had been following his career/interviews since summer of 2010, but March 5, 2011 (my Mom's birthday, too) was the day I became a *focused* ASkars fan. ;)

And since I am missing tomorrow's red carpet premiere, I will just have to relive last year's amazing premiere. I got both ASkars to sign my GQ, and I got a picture with him. (though I look horrible, at least he looks amazing) And the funniest thing is that someone got it on video! You can't see me.. you can see some of my Truebie sisters in it, but I just love seeing Alex interact with everyone. I had to ask him twice since he was signing away and talking to other fans, but he was very gracious and bent down to take a photo with me even though the security kept telling him no more pictures. He worked his way down the entire line before leaving. :)

So just for myself and those Truebie friends of mine who care.. or just my friends who want to see me look like a completely dorky fangirl. ;)

Excuse how horrible I look plus the huge teeth, but I just focus on ASkars, anyway.

and last but not least, the video that goes with this. Those who know my voice can hear me talking lots.. telling people who's coming and also complimenting Nelsan on his hat. Plus, you hear me ask Alex twice before he says, "yeah" and takes the picture. I just love his face afterwards! He's so adorable smiling after the shot. LOL! Only one of my friends got him smiling in the shot. Then I took a picture for my other friend. Here it is...

http://youtu.be/Nod2_7N0T9c

(Sorry, I tried to embed the link, but it doesn't work for me for some reason. Bah.. sorry for being techno-clueless. You can still see the video via the link though)

That's it for my fan girl squeeing tonight. But sometimes, it needs to be released. :D

Twitter = the new autograph (Peter Lenkov retweeted/replied to me!)

I am a dork, but yes, Hawaii Five-0 executive producer Peter Lenkov replied/retweeted my question. So, I went EEEEE! Granted, it was a pretty standard question that I thought someone had already asked previously, but I'm glad he did decide to answer back. Usually, when you give actors/producers/writers compliments, they kinda just jumble with everyone else, so glad mine was informational. ;)

And while we're at it, here's one from Charisma Carpenter aka Cordelia from Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel when again, I asked another informational question. LOL! It really seems like I have only received responses for just plain questions.. for at least these last two. And she reminded me of Cordelia when she had the duh in her response. Heh. Anyway, it was a response to my The Avengers question.

And yes, I totally believe that Twitter re-tweets and replies are the new autograph in this social networking age. I'm still trying to get Tom Hiddleston to reply, but I guess the movie people are more difficult to convince. ;) Doesn't mean I will stop trying. Heh. Oh, and how nice of Peter to also tell the fans close to LA in June to see Scott's play. He's heard good things about it. So makes me more excited.. I'll be seeing it in about three weeks! EEEE! Anyway, enough silly squeeing from me tonight. :)

Avengers Drive By Post

I actually need to think about what I watched today. And hope to see it in theaters again at least once more.. but for now. LOVED IT! And no spoilers, but there was a scene in which the characters were all together and had rapid fire dialogue going on, and I thought.. ladies and gentlemen, Joss Whedon. Joss was always good with the rapid fire one liners. There's probably more Whedonesque touches that I haven't caught since only seeing it once.. but yeah. Joss deserves this success like whoa despite how many issues I may have had with him in the past because of both Buffy/Angel series.

And on one random thought - who in the heck brings a TODDLER to a PG-13 movie?! What a stupid father.. the kid obviously was scared and kept talking and walking around. And FINALLY the father got a clue and left. But man, the time he was trying to get his toddler to pay attention to something that was too scary and too long.. just arghh. Hate to see parents who do stupid crap like that. This is also another reason why I have to see the movie again sometime since couldn't focus completely with the slight distraction.

But yeah.. more thoughts after I think about it more/maybe see it again. :D

ETA: Tried a shawarma for the first time ever, today thanks to this movie. It was delicious even if I didn't know what in the world was in it. LOL!

You know I ship McDanno like crazy, but I love the O'Caan adorableness, too.

Because we know who's sitting on Alex's chair! Just *happy sighs*

ETA: Darn you LJ.. can't figure out how to edit this picture in this post so you can see where my squee comes from - you have to click on the picture to see it in my gallery to see why I got all giddy over it. Look at the name of the chair Scott is sitting on y'all. ;) I hate being techno challenged. :P

Bought my Scott Caan's play tickets! YAY!!! :D (kinda H50)

Easiest ticket buying experience, ever! Tickets went on sale through the Falcon Theater web site at exactly 12:01am. And I got exactly the seats I wanted, too. Saturday night, June 16 at 8pm, 2nd row center! Woohoo! I could have gotten first row, but I wanted to see the whole stage a bit better so went for second row, instead. And even better, managed to rope a couple of X-phile friends to go with me... so we will have a great time! :D And, it's good to bring in a couple of non Scott fan girls who can be calm while I try for stage door, if there is one. That way, they can be calm and take pictures if I get that opportunity. We shall see... EEEEE! :D I'll be prepared for it, but even if there isn't one, at least I get to see Scott in front of me, acting out his own play. I am SO EXCITED! And interestingly, Melanie Griffith just joined the cast as Scott's mother. <lj-embed id="5" /> Would be a hoot if Antonio Banderas attended my performance, too. ;)

And, I have another True Blood friend who I'm waiting to hear from regarding going to the play, too. So, I may end up going twice.. we'll see if she gets back to me. But either way.. I get to see Scott Caan LIVE for two hours! EEEE!!!

Now, just need to chill out so I can go to sleep for work, tomorrow. LOL!

James Marsters in Frost/Nixon Rambly Fan Report (sorta H50 related)

I actually posted my pics on Facebook, but I'll tell a bit more story over here.. mostly for my own memories. Haven't been doing that much around here.. so may as well fan girl squee over here a bit more.

So anyway, my friend B. who is my fandom fairy godmother, suggested this play mostly because of the topic (politics w/ Richard Nixon) and the venue (she's a UCLA alumnus) And it just happened that James Marsters was in it! Now, JM is one of those actors that even if I'm not following his career as intensely as I did back in the day, I always am happy to see his work. Plus, I have always wanted to see him in a play or his acting live. So I was excited even if it was a radio play and not a normal play with the usual trappings. So after work, I pack, and while packing, I get a text that my plane was delayed. So after letting B. know, I took a bit more time than I probably should have packing/messing about. So when I finally get to the airport, the parking gods are kind, and I find a space rather quickly. While waiting for my flight, I finally get to play with my wireless tablet that my friend gave me for Christmas. It's not fancy like an ipad, but it does what I need it to do, which is browse online sites. I am pleased to report that I was able to read a little bit of fan fiction while waiting for my flight. Much easier to read than using my DROID RAZR. So thank you to McCarran's easy to use wireless wi-fi. On the plane after a long work week, I used my lovely Southwest drink coupon for a gin and tonic. Yikes.. more like the whole bottle of gin and like whatever tonic could fit in the space that was left in the cup. UGH.. if I was just 21, I'd be all over super strong drinks, but since I'm nearing 40 in not too many more years.. more like blehh. Though, it did relax me a bit, which is what I needed for the hour flight. Much different just taking an hour to fly compared to my usual 4.5 hours of drive time. Much more relaxing though since I don't have to stay alert compared to with driving.

Anyway, B. was literally right outside near the baggage claim door at Burbank Airport. I didn't see her for a moment because I was so out of it from the drink and the exhaustion of a full work week. So, we drove back to her house since I had already eaten dinner before leaving home. Funnily enough, a sorta Hawaii 5-0 tidbit is that we drove past the Falcon Theater, which is where Scott Caan's play will be performed this summer. I got excited and eek all at once because I saw how small the theater was! Turns out there's only 130 seats in there and 7 rows. The play is only playing for like five weekends, so I have to figure out with my True Blood friend when to go. Now, I'm actually open minded about seeing it more than once, but I'll just get the awesome ticket with my friend and be hopeful about stage door. If I meet other Hawaii 5-0 fans there who are cool and are going to more shows.. may go for that. Until then, just sticking with one show and have to find out what works best for my TB friend's work schedule.

We get home and fan girl squee about various things. I see my friend's new ipad (the latest one.. very very pretty) and get to use it to mess about online for a bit until we start watching of all things, "The X-Files" (Fight the Future)! It was hilarious because we've both seen it many times, but we were still quiet and fan girled when appropriate. I wrote it as a Facebook status and was happily amused to see other X-phile friends quoting back movie lines to me. I love when that happens on Facebook. After that.. time for sleep.

I got up and marathon watched three episodes of "Game of Thrones" so I'm all caught up on that for now. I still miss my Cersei and Jaime! :( But I still love Tyrion so much. I would watch a show about Tyrion, Jaime, and Cersei and would be happy. Then I managed to watch an episode of "Castle" with Adam Baldwin guest starring.. so that was good to see. So yeah, I was a big old couch potato chilling until we had to get ready to make our way to UCLA for the play. Needless to say, as the time got closer, my stomach started getting nervous. :P

So after dinner at Rosti's Tuscan Kitchen (ONO Grilled chicken, sun dried tomato, basil, and mozzarella panini with Rosemary potatoes.. pic on Facebook of course), we stopped back home briefly for a quick touch up (teeth brushing) and then headed to UCLA via 405. Scary with the fog, but we got there safely. We parked and found the venue, James Bridges Theater on the UCLA campus. B. gave me an impromptu tour of the classroom areas of the Film/theater complex. I kept feeling like we were going to get into trouble, but B. didn't feel that way at all. After we finished our tour, it was a bit chilly outside (I regretted wearing sandals once the temperature started dropping, but oh well) so we stayed inside the lobby area. I ended up buying a three play compilation of James' radio plays: MacBeth, She Stoops to Conquer, and The Importance of Being Earnest. I had already bought The Importance of Being Earnest a couple years back for some reason, so now I have two copies. Oops. :P Anyway, the compilation was only $10, which was like half of what I paid Amazon for that other copy, so grrr arghhh! And I feel better giving my money to a theater group instead of a corporation. I had two sharpies just in case. One was dull but was darker w/ ink while the other had a point but didn't have as much ink. That was the fail. Me and Sharpies.. have a history. LOL. I wished I had remembered to just buy two new Sharpies, but totally spaced on that when packing. Oh well. Anyway, we went in as soon as the doors were open because it was so cold out.

The inside of the theater was small. A very slight incline but dead in the water if someone tall sat in front of me. Thankfully, no tall people, plus I could see in between the seats. I sat in seat D108 (fourth row.. great view of the stage), so I was happy! The microphones were set up toward the end of the stage like those old radio shows. The show started after a brief introduction by one of the heads of LA Theater Works, and the cast walked onstage. Jonathan Silverman (Weekend at Bernie's) was really cute, too! And James looked lovely in his suit, since I usually have seen him in the T-shirt and jeans that he wears to his con appearances. It was a blue striped suit with a lighter blue shirt/white collar, and a blue tie. And he was wearing these nice black shoes with it. He definitely cleans up well. Anyway, I had a great view of James sitting in his seat and waiting until his turn. Also, when he was up at the microphone. Needless to say, I stared at him the whole time. I tried to look at the other actors, but considering I had always wanted to see James act live, I embraced the stan in me, and I just stared. My neck sorta ached with how stiff I was just staring, but it was worth it. James is always present on stage even if he's not at the microphone. He always is aware of what is going on, by either looking at whoever is talking or looking at his script. For someone who was reading his lines, he was very smooth. No hesitation except for one little stumble on a word that he covered quickly. He did eat grapes on stage during an eating scene, and I was hoping he would not choke on whatever he was eating (I thought they were eating chocolates, but I found out later it was grapes) since my last memory is of Gillian Anderson choking on her macaroon during A Doll's House so nothing bad happened. And I did pick up a few Spike-isms either in inflection or demeanor because he was using an English accent, but it was more William (pre-Spike) with the upper crust pronunciation than the cockney. But a few words just sounded Spike-ish. I wish I remembered which ones now, but I was so in the moment, I wasn't taking down notes. He also had this brief scene flirting with the woman in the cast, and it came off very Spike-ish with the confidence and a little bit of swagger. It was really hot. He also had an emotional scene (even though he was acting for radio) - he actually acted it out by dragging his hands across his face and having this look of disappointment/making a sound of disgust. It reminded me of when Spike was in his crypt after the Buffy in the bathroom scene. It was amazing to see him put that much emotion into a moment that no one would see but only hear. And at the end of the play, Tom Virtue (who played Nixon) extended his hand, and James shook it even if no one would see it. Overall, the entire cast was solid. James, Tom, and Jonathan all were fantastic in their roles. Honestly, I didn't sense a weak link in any of the cast. There was one 15 minute intermission, but the whole show was about 2 hours.

After the show, B. and I went to the lobby to wait for the stage door since I had already seen pictures from some fans on Twitter. I knew it was in the lobby based on the posters in the shots. So they had laid out cookies and bite sized brownies for us (how lovely) and they were still selling champagne. I did eat a quick bite of brownie though I wished I didn't later because I didn't have any water to rinse my mouth. Oh well. I had B. check to make sure there were no brownie remnants on me, so all was good. We just followed where the group of James' fans gathered since they would know where he would be. He did come out of a door not to long after the show, and he went straight to them to exchange pleasantries and hugs. I got flustered trying to figure out what to do because Jonathan Silverman and the rest of the cast also came outside at the same time. So TOO many people at the same time! Sensory overload or more like didn't know who to take pictures of at all. I tried to take pictures without flash, but the lighting was so bad, they didn't really come out. So I tried to take pictures with flash but felt bad since I was the only one taking pictures. So after literally just a couple of shots, I stopped. B. and I went up to Jonathan Silverman to get an autograph because he was so cute. I told him how much I enjoyed the play. And I was glad that I flew in for it. He seemed surprised and asked from where. I said just from Vegas. But he still smiled at that and thanked me. I thanked him for the autograph then walked away. Then I talked to B. and said I needed a pic. with this guy because he was so cute. So I went back up to him after he met with a couple of other fans, and I asked him for a picture. He said sure. We took the pic., I thanked him again, and that was it. He did end up smiling in the picture. Let's see if this picture thing works on LJ:

And then B. saw Joanne Whalley from The Borgias since B. is great at spotting actors in crowds. We went up to her. I tapped her on the shoulder briefly and asked her to sign my JM compilation CD since she was in MacBeth with him. She signed it with the dull Sharpie and the signature came out a bit too thick, but I was happy. I told her that I enjoyed her on The Borgias, and she said thank you. She also told us that it's going to get very crazy. She looked at the scripts and was just amazed by what they are doing on the show. So, that was really nice of her to get us excited for the show.

I then saw James working his way around the room. It was now or never because I saw him holding a bag, and it looked like he was going to leave soon. So I told B. that we had to go get his signature now before he leaves. We went in an area where he was making his way around with some fans. I was trying not to be pushy, but I also did not want to miss out. So as soon as he was done with a fan near me, he saw me and headed toward me. Sorry, straight cut and paste from Facebook since it was much fresher in my head when I wrote it. He still flustered me. :P It was a very brief interaction since James was trying to leave. LOL! It went like this: Very brief since lots of people he was trying to talk too and get around the room. I stuck my hand out and leaned into him, and he took it while I said "Hi, it's nice to meet you." I totally didn't say my name.. duh, and he didn't ask so we went w/ it. I think he said "hi" back. I asked him if I could get a picture with him. And I think he said sure. While B. took the shot, she said that I was nervous in front of him, and I told her "to stop" playfully. I didn't talk to James while we were posing because I didn't want to ruin the shot. She took the shot, then I think I asked him if he could sign my program. I gave him the sharpie, and he signed it. I think I said we really enjoyed the play very much. It was a good performance. (I think) I think he said thank you. And I said thank you. And that was it. Honestly, lots of it is a blur because JM like many Buffy/XF stars can still fluster me so I wasn't as sharp on what happened.. plus it was w/ a bunch of people around so the interaction had to be quick. B. gave him my CD compilation to sign and while he signed it, she asked him about his British accent. I think he didn't really answer her or he just chuckled. A fan was near him, and that was about it. He did give me eye contact when I first went up to him, and when I said "thank you." He seemed very short though. The previous two times I had met him at conventions several years ago, we always sat so didn't know his true height. Tonight, he was just about my height or maybe an inch taller but not much. I think I grinned like an idiot though. At least Beth took a great shot even though I look like a big smiling geek. :P From my friend B.'s memory: "I kind of recalled him saying "thank you" a bunch. He was very gracious and willing to take a picture with you, and he did chuckle when I said you was nervous. I think he thought it was cute." So then James went on to the next fan, and that was it. I was fine with the brief interaction mostly because I got the picture. But later I thought, why didn't I say something about how it was too bad his character (Victor Hesse) was killed off of Hawaii 5-0 too quickly or anything about his experience on that show?! Ah well, brain went buh-bye thanks to being flustered. I also saw that my friend B. was talking to an actor, so I went and just walked around and tried to take a few shots of James with flash. But, once he started taking pictures with other fans again (I took a pic of one), I didn't feel right taking flash photography while mostly no one else was, so I stopped. And, also James went back into the theater's backstage area again, so it looked like he was getting ready to leave. Therefore, I looked for B. in the crowd. I grinned at a James fan, and then found B. It turns out that the actor B. was talking to was Craig Young who will be on the Hawaii 5-0 crossover event with NCIS: LA and had posted some behind the scenes pics while he guested on the show, including one with Scott Caan on the phone. I didn't know that since I didn't recognize him so couldn't fan girl squee at him about Hawaii 5-0 either. So fail on my part again. Then I briefly told Tom Virtue that I really enjoyed his performance while he signed my program. He asked if we were the ones seeing the show for all the performances? We said no, but B. and I were not unfamiliar with such feelings. :P Tom was just impressed by how far these people had flown to see the show. And he likened it to a Star Trek convention, so bless his heart. So after we thanked him, B. and I left. We went home to watch four episodes of The Borgias in honor of Joanne Whalley. :)

Even though it was a quick trip to LA for a show, it was totally worth it. I got a good picture with James despite my fail with Sharpies and quick conversation, but the main reason why I went.. the performance was way worth all of the time and the plane ticket. I was pleased that the play was great, and that I got a picture with one of my old time fandom favorites. So I consider that a great night all around. :)

More Fan girl rambling (Hawaii 5-0/Scott Caan of course)

I was just so tickled that my brother guessed the word "bromance" on Draw Something when I drew a really sad looking picture of Danny and Steve. LOL! I at least made Danny shorter than Steve to make me happy. I guess I still have a thing for a partner being shorter ala Mulder and Scully on her Gilly box. ;) I wish I could have taken a picture of it.. duh. Didn't think of it til too late. Oh well.

And in Scott Caan news.. it's very difficult to find anything with him interacting with any fans on Youtube.. bah. And what's there is not very good. The dude is quiet and signs and will take pics, but no chatting like Alex O'Loughlin. Anyway, a good story after I posted on FB about going for tickets for Scott's play in May was posted by a friend who works at the ArcLight in Hollywood. She said the following:

"He comes to my theater all the time. Well when he's in town lol.nice guy."

And then she posted this short little tidbit about him later in the conversation:

"Yeah he's cool. We had a photo of him once hanging up in one of our hallways and so I told him and he was all like no way! And then he went up and took a photo. Didn't he put out a book of photography too? I seem to remember him doing a signimg at our theater. But I might be thinking of someone else."

And like I said on Facebook, it's nice to see that someone you admire (especially a recent convert like myself) is actually nice when there are no cameras around, especially in a situation of just going to the movies like anyone else. :)

And now I must run errands, but I will have a smile on my face over the Scott Caan awesome and that my brother knew that Steve and Danny were <strike>b</strike>romance! :D

Fan Girl Babbles (Scott Caan mention)

So, I have been saddened that I can't attend two fan events: Person of Interest Paley Center screening and Q&A w/ Michael Emerson and True Blood Season 5 red carpet premiere. I love Michael Emerson. I have a talent crush on the man. And I am enjoying his Batman reminiscent TV show. It pains me that I can't go because I have to be a responsible adult... stupid job where I have to be there for more student teacher that day. :( And I'm totally bummed about True Blood Season 5 red carpet premiere mostly since if the show debuted one week later, I would be able to attend. Again, damn having to be a responsible adult - it's final exams so no travel until all that grading is done. Bah.

But now, there is a potential Hawaii Five-0 sorta related event happening in LA in June. Scott Caan is in a play in a playhouse in Burbank that he wrote. I found this out on Twitter and signed up for newsletters from the playhouse. I am going to try for this ticket and possibly have another person with me, who is usually another Truebie. I've only met her once. LOL! In the last few months, I have become a Scott Caan fan because of his role on Hawaii Five-0 and the copious amounts of tumblr I have been viewing. ;) So, now, I need to dig up all the Scott Caan related things I can watch so I'll be ready for that play in June. Now, just need to buy the tickets (to only one show - I'm not going to be GA nuts about it.. LOL) and hopefully have a successful stage door. Though, honestly, seeing the guy act in a play he wrote is the main reason and the stage door would be the frosting on top. Now, maybe I finally have a reason to get back into shape a bit. :P
