The sky is full of helicopters. It's kinda weird after the accident.

You might have heard that several days ago a helicopter crashed into a pub in Glasgow, near Clyde river, cause apparently it is an international news? My roommates' parents called them at 4 in the morning to make sure they're okay.
But yeah, weird thing is, that it did crash not so far away from my house and i remember that earlier that evening i could hear quite loud sounds of an airplane/helicopter and i wondered why, seeing as it was so late.
I'm living near the park, the helicopter crashed at the other side of the park.

Still, i can't help but ask myself what would have happened if it crashed here. It's not very difficult with all the ones flying around the sky ever since.

The families and friends of all the victims and injured - you are in our prayers.

Heya guys!

A quick update.
After passing my first practical exam this trimester (wohooo!) I’m very excited for the fandom gift exchange this month \o/ I’ve already left some wishes, and I’m so very impatient to make a gift for someone else. Another thing – I don’t know how but I managed to snatch myself a fic for the teenwolf_bb this year!! (OMG, and I missed all deadlines as well, I dunno how it happened).

I’m quite happy with my program this year, I’ll have loads of time around Christmas for both drawing and preparations for the exams in January, so I’m starting to feel the buzz.
I’ve been thinking about a project of mine, which I’ve been setting up for quite a while, but I don’t want to jinx it, so if anything actually happens I’ll be quick to let you on ;) I just hope I’ll be able to finish it before Christmas.

Also I’ve probably said this before, but just to be safe – I’m not really active on DeviantART anymore, in case you want to keep in touch, here are my tumblrs: personal one – miseryhunting & art one – aslansniece.

Life, The Universe & Everything

I know I've posted a lot in the last 24 hours, but I am too excited too pass the opportunity to write about it.

On Thursday I went to a lecture at the Strathclyde University, organised by the Astronomical Society of Glasgow.

Dr Frazer Pierce from the University of Nottingham, who specialises in the theory of the formation of structure in the Universe was a guest speaker.

And let me tell you – IT WAS AMAZING! I loved every second of it. The majority of the public was 60+ but it made it even more interesting – all of these people had a deep understanding of quantum and astrophysics and it was so refreshing actually having a serious discussion!

We talked about the Quantum and Black Hole boundaries, Plank Masses, the specific place of electrons in the spectrum, etc, etc.

If anything, I learnt a lot (also, I need go through some basic formulas) and had a great time! :)

Since then, I've been craving some astrophysics/astronomy literature, so today, I finally picked up a couple of Hawking's books! ^^

Ahh, I'm just happy, okay? ^^

Hi there, guys! :)

I know I haven't been active for several months now, a lot of things happened during the past few months, so this is something like my official comeback to Livejournal :3 ^^

In short, this is what happened during the year.

THE ROAD SO FAR...

I got into the Sherlock, Merlin and Teen Wolf fandoms :3 (Also became obsessed with Florence + The Machine, Lana Del Rey, Alex Clare, Ed Sheeran, etc, etc)

I also got on Tumblr.

I tried some fanart for different shows and in general, experimenting with pastels and ink.

Also, moved across Europe for University. O.O (FLYING IS CRAZY OKAY?? If there's someone in Glasgow, I'd love to hang out sometimes)

Took part in the International 24 Hours Comics Day (but i still haven't posted it anywhere, I'm probably gonna make a post here in the next couple of days :3)

I'm currently studying for my degree, working on a documentary and trying to learn 2 languages at the same time. :3

I'm open all kinds of commissions if someone's interested (Uni ain't cheap, dudes)

Anything to look forwards to?

YES! I'm doing the teenwolf_bb this year! :3

I have no idea if I'll do any other challenges as Uni is killing me these days...:/

Uh...my Annual Christmas Cards? :3 This year they would be multi-fandoms, but I dunno If I'll send much or when, 'cause everything is FREAKING EXPENSIVE IN THE UK!! O.o

Ugh..also, not that anyone cares, but i was thinking of starting an illustrated biology/anatomy series?
Dunno, I don't have more plans, so I'll just update if something comes up :3

Summary: Jared loves to cook and Jensen loves his knives. Oh, and there's Remy.

So, guys, there was supposed to be a fic going with this (written by me), but some stuff with my university application came up and I really didn’t have time to finish it.

I’m getting really frustrated. There was supposed to be more art but…aggh! If I have the time, I’ll update the post with more it it ;)

So, in my mind, the story went something like that:

Jared (Linguini/Remy) had grown up in a small town with his mom. She works as a cook and little Jared grows up loving cooking. Before she passed away, she gives him the number of an old friend of hers, working in the famous “Apetit” Restaurant in Dallas and tells him to follow his dream. Jared is really good in the kitchen, but he’s painfully shy and socially awkward. The fact that he’s gay and 22 doesn’t exactly work in his favor, but he accepts the job as a trash boy. He meets Jensen, the protégée of the late Chef Moriarti. Jensene’ was disowned and kick out by his parents when he was just 16. He learned to use knifes so he could protect himself on the streets. That is until Chef Moriarti took him under his wing and gave him a place to stay. Jensen learned how to put his wicked skills with knifes to good use in the kitchen and became something like Moriarti’s son.

When Jared sees Jensen he falls for him fast and hard. => Jared + Jensen + broom + soup = trouble

The rest, as they say, is history ;)

The main reason why i chose "Ratatouille" (despite my major LOVE for the movie) is because I've never EVER drawn food or kitchen appliances. I can't say i did great, but i had a lot of fun <3

If someone wants to write their own story to the art, it's really no problem with me. Just write me a message to check it out afterwards ;)

I just... I don't know what to say. I'm a relatively new fan but these guys have a such a iron way to get under your skin and warm a place deep down inside your heart.

I'll miss every single one of these characters.
Chuck was a darling and throughout all the way, i believed he would stay just as good.
Morgan was the most loyal character i've ever seen. He's deservedly on my "Top 3 most loyal best frinds in history" along with Samwise and Ron.
I always believed Sarah will find her way and stop beeing that scared girl whoonly knows how to flee.
Casey needed that little softening to become the man he trully respected.
I don't think i could say anything about Jeffster than simply AWESOME!

And tp all those other chacters who were there to make my every Saturday the best day of my week and make me constantly smile... THANK YOU! I will never EVER forget you.

Goodbye, Team Bartowski. This was an epic journey I would never forget...

SOPA and PIPA?

As it seems a major Internet riot is being caused by big sites like Wikipedia, Livejournal, Deviantart, Yahoo and many more in response to the SOPA and PIPA bills and even though i'm not American, i can't help but dig a little deeper.

Here's what Wikipedia provides as information about the bills themselves:

"What are SOPA and PIPA?

SOPA and PIPA represent two bills in the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate respectively. SOPA is short for the "Stop Online Piracy Act," and PIPA is an acronym for the "Protect IP Act." ("IP" stands for "intellectual property.") In short, these bills are efforts to stop copyright infringement committed by foreign web sites, but, in our opinion, they do so in a way that actually infringes free expression while harming the Internet. Detailed information about these bills can be found in the Stop Online Piracy Act and PROTECT IP Act articles on Wikipedia, which are available during the blackout. GovTrack lets you follow both bills through the legislative process: SOPA on this page, and PIPA on this one. You can find all the information needed here on Wikipedia.

From what I get from all the articles online, these bills can severely disrupt the Internet. A lot of sites would be forced to censure their content and enabling users of their right of free speech. Even worse - sites that do fit into the criteria would have to monitor every single link or message provided or they could face the same fate. It seems like Totalitarism from where i look at it.

I don't really know a lot about this but to me it seems like a very convenient way big companies and politicians will be able to shut down sites like Wikileaks and Wikipedia as well as public activists and major competition under the pretence they provide "unacceptable material".

The bad thing? The Congress isn't even subtle about it. And this will affect all of us as the bills will start blocking foreign sites, file sharing and our freedom to exchange information as users.

How can you help? You will find very useful information on a lot of the protesting sites. If you're American you can help by signing here.

SOPA's sponsor said the bill will be discussed in early February. There are signs PIPA may be debated on the Senate floor next week. And although Obama's cabinet said they would not sign anything like this and people all round the world revolting we'll see what happens next.

-OK,Where did this came from?

I guess i already said whatever art i do for the is a matter of associations as I haven't even set foot on American soil. The strongest ones were of fars and Mr. Stephen King. I've read so many of his books that I think the fact that his birthplace and the set of most of his books is Maine, is inscribed in my DNA.

-What the Hell is this exactly?

The idea is that Sam and Dean are heading on a normal hunt in Maine. I imagine Maine is something like Stephen King's personal supernatural world, in which the boys are the intruders. He's suppost to represent a manipulator for his creations (some of which you can actually see...like the IT clown,next to Dean's shoulder, the Cat from "Pet Sematary", a Dreamcatcher, you can even Cujo's (supposedly) muzzle in the right corner...)
And yeah, i know Children of Corn was actually set in Nevada...

First things first - MERRY CHRISTMAS,GUYS!! I wish all of you good health, great friends and a whole lot of great memories next year.

I'll be first to admit that usually I'm that one person who hates the holidays, you know, the grinch sulking on the couch, frowning at all the lights, ornaments and christmasy things as a whole. But miracles DO happen and this year I've been in an incredibly good mood, for the first time in a long while i'm actually feeling the christmas spirit. So, here's the art i made.

Lemanya's Sheet #1

Basically, this is the art i made for the sweet lemanya's christmas card. This is the first time i actually make the whole christmas card (meaning, drawing it and putting everything together). Her super cool card inspired me to try and draw something chibilike (I don't have a good record with chibis :D).

Wiccan & Hulking: A Long (And Maybe Slightly Boring) Insign into Modern Comicbook Society

Most of my friends don’t know this, but I am a major comic geek. I’ve always loved to draw, and my epic love affair with books started before I could actually read, so I guess it’s to be expected to love comic books as well. You know, the best of both worlds :D
When I was little, I wanted to be just like Peter Parker – he was smart, he was good, he was funny – what not to like? Later, when it was explained to me that “no, girls can’t be male superheroes”, I decided I wanted to be Mary Jane (I know, I wasn’t very smart kid).

Then I got introduced to X-men, quickly followed by my Storm phase, Jean Grey phase and my Rogue Phase. It is still my favorite marvel comic universe (even though there are bizzillion verses - Uncanny X-men, Ultimate X-men, etc).
The latest one that managed to get under my skin and stay along side my favorites is Young Avengers. In my youth, I never warmed to the Avengers, I pretty much disliked Captain America, if I have to be honest, but this one here really grabbed me and refused to let go.

What really impressed me though, is maybe my most favorite couple in comics universe - Theodore "Teddy" Altman, also known as Hulkling and William "Billy" Kaplan – Wiccan, in the beginning also known as Asgardian.To say I was surprised (pleasantly, of course) to see and actual same sex couple in teen comic would be underestimation. At first I thought it was the fan base making up stories, but as I started reading I convinced myself.

I’m not gay or bi, but I’ve always prided myself with being open-minded and judging people by their deeds rather than the color of their skin, their beliefs or their sexual orientation. As I see it, you’re free to love whoever you like, and it’s not mine or anyone else’s business. And these characters proved me right. They were strong and sweet without being obtrusive. And even though they haven’t shared a single kiss on panel (as far as I know, I’m still reading) they have showed more care for the other one than other marvel characters have in all their 20 years of existence.

There are always gonna be narrow-minded bigots, who would only wait to raise a scandal, but I don’t understand what they’re protesting to. Men have liked other men even thousands years ago. A big percent of today’s teenagers are either gay or bi-curious at the least. And the little gestures of love these characters have shown is nothing compared to some of pornographic things some heterosexual couples in comicbook history have done. On panel.

I can only congratulate writer Allan Heinberg, for having the courage to finally say “It’s time to pull your head out of your ass, world, and look yourself in the mirror”.

In the comic, the friends of the characters are friendly and supportive, just like people in the real world should be. Every comicbook reader, producer or creator who says the opposite is a hypocrite.

Cause, wasn’t that the moral of all stories in comic books? That you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover? That it doesn’t matter if you’re black or white, rich or poor, or what is your religion.
And again, as I see it, this sweet couple is a step to a better world where equality is not a myth.
So, GO AHEAD BOYS! SHOW 'EM WHAT YOU'RE MADE OF!! ;)

This is the art I did for the Reverse Bang! ^^ As a first-year-participant, I think it all went great (well, with the exception of the huge amount of time RL tried to get in the way, srsly!).
I've got so lucky and the incredible lemanya picked my art! Really, this girl is just great! :)
She had to put up with me and the crazy hours...She was awesome, even though most days i had no time to work on the prompt. She didn't even get to see the whole set of art until a few hours.
So, THANK YOU, DEAR <3
And I love love LOVE the story you wrote - it was deffinitely worth the wait! :)
I'm sorry i didn't have the time to make illustrations to go along with the fic. =( But, here it is anyways...

I just got the news that my grandma had a stroke and i'm fucking terrified.
She can't die...she just can't. Not her. Just. I'm not even sure how to react.
The doctors say it had passed but it's not good enough. What if it happens again? What are we gonna do? And, God, grandpa should be so scared right now. Mom said she has her eye and mouth twisted but don't know if it's permanent. God, i'm so scared. I just need to get it off my chest. I can't talk to anyone about it - my mom's at work, my dad has never been the care and share kinda guy and my sister is so sensitive, i don't want to make her cry.
I remember when my other set of grandparents died. I was in such a shock. My sister was crying her heart out. It might be egoistic but the i wanted to scream at her to just shut put then...
But i guess we're not the same people.

We're going to visit grandma tomorrow, and ,fuck, I'm scared... I just hope she is ok. It doesn't matter how she looks as long as she's alive and well...

OK! Now it's all over, and i have to say, I'm so glad it passed and i can breathe again. Seriously, i thought i would have a heart attack.
I think i should probably thank my dad and the fates for finally calming me down (fortunately, without the usage of drugs :D ). So this is my "thank you" journal.

Thank you Dad, for being so cool, quiet and not pushing it.
Thank you Orion, for appearing in a moment I didn't expect you to and making me smile.
Thank you Radio Gods, for the great surprise. I haven't heard my all time favourite song in months and that morning in 5 AM when i heard the opening of "Ordinary World" it felt like a sign.

All these things combined reminded me something. I am firm believer that the universe has it's own way to put things into their places. It was like it tried to remind me that if it was meant to be, It would happen. If not, then something better will be waiting round the corner.

All in all, I have to say that in between stressing out around the test date, i forgot one thing.
The world doesn't end with failing a test. True, it can ruin your plans, it can make a lot of things difficult, but it won't kill you. It won't take you home, your family, nor your friends. It doesn't take your talent, your passions, your food.
So many people live without food, without roof above their heads, without a basic medical care. People live in constant fear about really important stuff - worries about how to pay the rent and keep their families from being thrown on the streets or taking care about their sick mother or father.

And here i was getting sick over a test, a simple exam.
Life is more than a test. Enjoy it while it lasts :)
