On Events

I've expressed quite often how frustrating it is to plan events of any kind with my friends. I've tried to set events up 2 months in advance, 2 weeks in advance, and even a mere 3 days ahead, yet every time I get the exact same answer. "I don't know." I understand life can be busy and haphazard, if anyone knows this, I do. But not knowing what your doing even 2 days from now is just. Silly. It's depressing to get the same noncommittal answer every time I suggest anything, be it a somewhat pricey event plenty of time ahead or something with free food 3 days away. If you aren't interested, or if you have plans, just say so so I can move on to something else.

This week has been something else. I worked 47 hours that can actually be billed to our clients, was at work for around 51 hours, and an hour of transit each way, plus class this week. I'm exhausted. Lately things have been going downhill for me, I finally went to a dentist, and my out of pocket expenses will be over a grand if I don't plan operations right, I seriously fucked up there. Because of that ,I'll probably end up missing MFF, and probably FC as well, unless I can get some serious overtime and probably a raise soon.

RMFC was last weekend, it was, ok. I enjoyed visiting with Kamo and his mate Kat, and some of their friends, but other than that, I spent too much on a glorified fur meet. At least I didn't get a room.

Socially, things suck in denver. Other than the small crew I hang out with normally, I haven't met anyone new (to me) to hang out with, even after visiting a few meets in the area to see whats up. Denver rarely changes, and even with new people moving out, I feel I've exhausted Colorado's possibilities for myself, it doesn't hold anything special for me anymore. I need company, comfort, and change, and those aren't here for me anymore, and it often seems like people are blowing me off for the fun of it, or just not communicating. To that end, in 2 - 3 weeks I'm going to meet with the VP of US Operations and discuss what options are or could become available to me around April next year for me to relocate. I'm looking at Chicago most of all, and then phoenix secondly, and Florida is a minor possibility; but if they have something, I'm going to take it if it's in a major city. I want to be near a beach if I can find the opportunity. If things work out and I find something I like, I'll probably come out and scout the area and see who's around and if it's worth the trouble.

On another work related thing, my night shifts begin this week on Tuesday, I'll be working from 10:30pm to 7am, Tuesday through Saturday, it will suck having to work Friday and Saturday night, but if I do things right it wont last long, and I'll have Monday off to start seeing a psychiatrist to get some help and fix my shit.

second Job get!

Today is a good day. I just got the call from Longview Systems saying I got the job. I will now be working weekends as well as weekdays and class. Longview will pay 100% of my benefits, including medical, dental, life, and accidental death insurance; pay 5% of my past years taxable income into a 401K plan, and I get 3weeks of paid vacation time per year, accrued at 1.25 days per month, 6 paid sick days, and 1 personal day.The base salary is equivalent to my current job, so I have, essentially, doubled my income. Fuck. Yeah!

School Stuff

Well, today I went in to have my financial aid for classes repackaged for the remainder of my associates degree, and the results aren't fantastic. I have secured about half through federal loans, both subsidized and unsubsidized, the rest, has been piling up in temporary credit that has reached a point where I have to apply for a private bank loan. Knowing my credit, I doubt I will be able to secure that loan, and since my parents absolutely refuse to sign any paperwork at all regarding my classes, especially co-sign on a student loan, things could turn downhill for classes. If things go down how I expect, I will have to either drop out or start paying cash up front for my classes. If I get the second job I've been gunning for, I will be able to pay for the classes with cash, but if I don't, I will have no choice but to drop out of college.

TLDR?

Fuck me :(

Things here have been going wildly lately. Some days are pretty good and others just suck balls. Work could be said to be going well, but what with all the work I have to do there stress has been piling up every day. If this keeps up I'll have to call in a mental health week and go somewhere far away and take a step back from it all... I really hope the applications I've been filling out turn up something for me in my industry of choice and with a paycheck that will go much further for me. I would like to be able to do more travel and see more people and more of my world, my current job just doesn't have enough potential to satisfy my talents and abilities, or my goals.

Things with the new apartment are going fine, have a large TV and a good bed, and I get some more stuff for the place about once a month or so and it's starting to feel much more lived in. Soon enough here I'll have a couch and I can move the TV into the living room where it belongs.

Thanks to Triggur I have a sewing machine to use so I can make a fursuit. Since I got a bunch of fur for free thats of really good quality and also bought some extra, I have enough to pull off a suit of any number of species, what I will finally do will have to wait until the debut. Whatever it is it will be done very well.

Hopefully I don't have any more days like today for a long time... I got rear ended on the way to meet up with the colorado group at the mall for pride, and although there was no injury or damage, it scared the crap out of me and threw the day off kilter. Then not going to pride at all topped it all off so in the end the whole trip was a waste. I really hope the week isn't like this, everything just needs to go smoothly.

Moved

Well, the husky finally pulled the trigger. I moved on Wednesday, April 20th 2010 into my new home. It's a roomy 1112 sq. ft. 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with a gas fireplace, full size washer & dryer, refrigerator, stove, and garbage disposal. I've got nearly all of my shit moved in, all that's left is a big desk and a few small items I need to collect. I'm finally free from the tyranny of my overly religious right-wing nut-job parents. Now I need to buy some bedding for me new king size bed so i can stop sleeping in the queen, and find a couch, end tables, a coffee table, and lamps. My roommate is my friend of several years now, a first for me to know anyone but family that long, will be moving in shortly once his job transfers him to the Thornton location, but he's on the lease already so I'm good to go. Now the only thing that's missing is a steady stream of visitors to keep life interesting. If anyone wants to stop by give me a holler!

BTW, to my parents: FUCK YOU

New regular trip

After taking a random, pointless trip to Estes Park, I've decided I will go at least once a month from now on, weather permitting. I stopped randomly in a Nepal gift shop, and stumbled across a strategy board game called Bagh-Chal which is a very little bit similair to checkers, and chess. It's a lot of fun and the shop owner played a game with me while I was there. I bought a set and also a small gift for a friend and then had dinner at Celitos Mexican. The food was good if you aren't a picky eater, but they messed up my order so I didn't eat much of it and it took a while to get in and out. The biggest disappointment I had was the plushie shop I know of in town was closed, only open on weekends. If anyone want's to tag along on one of these trips, get in touch.

Goings On

Things lately have been moving along at a fast pace. Been getting my loose ends taken care of and I'm about to move out of my parent's place for the last time. I'm going to get a pretty decent 2 bedroom apartment with my friend Rithuld. I'm really looking forward to having my own place, no more living with my antagonistic parents, I'll finally have a place to call home. I have everything I really need to live reasonably comfortably, and may be, hopefully, inheriting some furniture as well. The thing I look forward to most is being able to have a pet, and to have visitors over whenever I want. That is the most important thing I think, and hopefully once I get settled in I 'll be able to have a steady stream of people coming by and saying hey.

Class is going strong again, nothing beats spending Monday, Thursday, and Friday night in school when you could be out having a good time, but luckily, I only have 2 and a half years or so left before I get my degrees, and get to experience coming home and not having to do anything after a long day of work except kick back and relax.

No more trips this year until MFF rolls around, I don't have any vacation time until August and having an apartment will cut my leisure cash down a lot, but around March of next year I'll probably do another trip.

Also, for anyone who likes to travel, feel free to come visit me starting in June through forever. I love company!

Well, what can I say. I enjoyed my vacation! It was pretty laid back, spent a few days chilling out with electropaw and seeing the area around Gulfport. I love fursuiting around in public, see how people in various areas react and such.

Only 9 days left until I go to visit Electropaw! I can’t wait; it’s going to be a fantastic trip. I’ve never seen the ocean before so that will be pretty cool, and of course, Alice in Wonderland comes out the day after I arrive, and I’ve been eagerly anticipating the day it comes to theater ever since I first saw a poster with Johnny Depp and Tim Burton on it, fantastic combination! Flight leaves at 6am on Continental… I won’t be sleeping that night; I’ll just sleep when I get there. Which reminds me… holy crap checked baggage is pricey! I’m not going to check anything, I’m going to send my stuff down FedEx overnight for less than it costs to check 2 bags, and since I’m bringing my fursuit and such I will be saving a lot of money, and no worries about baggage handling either, or waiting for luggage.

Coming up in the next few months: moving! After an unpleasant experience with my parents, which involves me crawling into my room through a window after they locked me out of the house, I’ve been told I have to move out by June. Originally I had planned to hold off as long as possible, but alas, such is not the case. I’ll be moving out between April 15 and May 15, I’ve noticed apartments require more on move in after the 20th of a particular month to cover a prorated charge for the remainder of the month, as well as the next month. Hoping to find someplace decent so I can have people over frequently, living alone and never having company over is boring and lonely!

Finals are this week for me, I’m taking them early to accommodate my trip to Mississippi, so I’ll be done with the quarter and my first full year of classes by the end of the week! It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year, and if I can get my act together, I can study ahead so I can try to test out of a few more classes… like composition II, and Group Dynamics… the school accreditation system needs to be changed, classes like that are BS and a waste of my time and money. Looking at my schedule for next quarter, they want to put all of my classes in Aurora, AND they want me in a Saturday morning class, fuuuuuuck that! Getting rescheduled tomorrow. Sure, school is important, but so is relaxing and having a life. Things are bad enough with a full time job to go with it all.

I’ve seen a lot of those formspring.me links popping up, I think I’ll pass. If you want to ask me a question post it in my comments section or get in touch on one of the big 4 IM services, I prefer conversations anyways.

Hopefully this trip will make up for all of those boring weekends I seemed to have, and these 2 coming up, except this last one... went snowboarding for the first time. It's lot's of fun but freaking brutal... big reminder I'm out of shape. Guna spend the rest of this season and however long there is until the next to get back in shape, then snag a season pass and some gear for it so I can really learn :3

Changes are coming

Well, things are about to get interesting 'round these parts. I've just been delivered an ultimatum by my parents, I have move out by June. These next few months will be a scramble of getting loose ends I should have taken care of a long time ago tied up, and getting ready to have at least $800 less a month to myself. Luckily, I have all the furniture I need so no pricey purchases there, although I will need a couch at some point, and probably a TV, but that's not even tertiary. I was hoping to hold off on my move until I at least got my Associates degree, or a position in Arizona at our sales office where I can continue school and work in what I feel would be a much better environment. Let's hope everything goes smoothly and that I've improved my credit score enough to not face a massive deposit. Things are looking good though, I did pick up a Sprint phone with no deposit which is definitely better than how things were a year ago.

In other news, I'm going to go on a trip in March to visit Electropaw, it should do me wonders getting out of town for a few days. I've never been to a beach or seen the ocean, so it should be a very good time. Also, I intend to learn how to snowboard, I need something physical to keep myself engaged, I should take up biking again once things warm up.

Euro Trip- Sometime 2013

I've been talking to some people I know overseas for a while, and I met a few more people at MFF this year that really rocked my socks off, so I got to thinking. I've been missing out on a lot of things these days, one of them is Eurofurence, which is from everyone I've heard about it from, simply astounding. So, I plan on going to Europe sometime in the year 2013, to go to Eurofurence, visit my friends abroad, and, to celebrate my graduation from ITT Tech. I'm glad I've started planning now because I know international travel is expensive and a lot of work, so, I'm asking you guys out there on the intrawebs, what's a good checklist of things to do/get before I go on my trip. I'm going to start saving now, and I'll snag a passport a year before I go, unless I go to Canada or Mexico between now and then. Useful tips would include any major legislation I should be aware of, how much food costs per day, things like that. Thanks for the tips! So far I have Germany and Spain on my list of destinations, Sweden is a possibility, and maybe the UK.

MFF 2009: The Aftermath

Well, I have to say, that despite a few absolutely horrendous moments, I had an absolutely amazing time at Midwest Furfest 2009. I met a lot of great people and a few people who I've heard endless stories about, and it's great to finally have faces for the names. The best parts of the con were of course, endless hours of fursuiting, including several trips to The Ram, a sports bar/grill across the street with decent food and the Dirt Cup <3. I want to give an extra special thanks to aiden_raccoon for rescuing mine, and silver pup's and alfredo's and ping's collective asses from the side of I-88, 100 miles away from the hotel after my car spun a rod and the engine went kablewy. The car is totaled by the way, I had it towed and donated to a fire dept. somewhere in Iowa and I'll be getting a new one ASAP. I also wanted to thank blazger , nbowa , nannuraluk , kenai , and especially jackiedog for the best weekend ever! I'll post pictures later once I have Windows 7 running and all that jazz, but know this, it was epic!

Well, I must say, that this was probably the best Halloween I have had so far in my (short, I admit) life. I had initially planed to borrow a fursuit from Nevermint for the week of Halloween since class and everything else tends to conflict with doing anything the day before. I picked up Jack Frost from him early on Tuesday due to rapidly crapify-ing weather (It was already 3-4 inches everywhere, and roads and highways weren't even plowed yet) and over a few days became quite attached to J Frost and decided to give him a new home, to the tune of $1500. Anyways.

I went to work Friday in suit, where I was recieved warmly, and got a few kicks out of people trying to figure out what I was (Polar bear was the most common) and did some fursuit forklift operation (Had to unload a plotter), but sadly I didn't win the costume contest, Mao came in an inflatable Ostritch thing that made him seem like a really short guy riding it, and had a costume on as a samurai from Kung Pow! Enter the fist! by the name of Hung Wei Lo (yes, it's what you think), he deserved it.

After that I got off work early to go spend some time suiting up at Intel with Tek and Dire, amusing a big crowd of little ones and having a great time despite being called the "Mommy Fox." I am NOT a mommy fox, I'm not even a fox! But that wasn't even the worst, that was yet to come. I spent a good part of the night and early morning chilling out with Tek and Dire, watched some Simpsons and the 2 best episodes of House i have ever seen and tried a bit of Malibu and pineapple juice. Maybe next time I can get Dire to let me have a whole glass lol, it was good.

Spent Saturday morning and afternoon cleaning, tuned up my belts again, finally eliminated the squeals and topped off the fluids before trucking it down to the Masonic Temple for the annual Howl-O-Ween party. Mostly, it was pretty lame, with the exception of some good pumpkin pie and meetnig up with a few old friends that I've gotten out of touch with, and running to Walgreens in suit to get some drinks, where I was called the worst thing yet, a pony. How they deduced that, I have no idea... but they did, after which I promptly broke taboo and corrected them kindly before heading out back to the party. Stood out of the moon roof of the SUV I was in half the way back, it was lots of fun and cooled me off really well.

Hit up Connor's after party right after that, played some ODST and something else all night, as well as watching Frisky Dingo for a good part of the time. Slept in suit there and then took some furs home before hitting up Flatirons with Shadow, got some more MTG cards, sunglasses, and a hoodie and dinner before we headed to the Springs to see Saw VI with Zephyr and his roomie before dropping shadow off at home and trucking it up home. Never seen I-25 so deserted, it was very convenient.

And finally, tonight I went and bought some boxer briefs (ABOUT DAMN TIME TOO) as well as new bedding that I desperately needed. I did indulge myself a bit, as well as hit a new level of GAY when I bought some 400 thread count snow white Egyptian cotton sheets and a 300 thread count sky blue comforter, a set of pillows, and a new hamper. (The bedding, yes, it matches Jack Frost. It's gay, I know. I love it). Also, some new pants and a pair of shirts which I also desperately needed to get. No more dealing with holes in my pant legs now.

All in all, I am extremely pleased and happy. I now have a fursuit, bedding that is comfy, clothes with only the minimum of required holes, and a good helping of memories to top it off. Have a good week!
BTW, Nevermint is made of awesome win sauce and should be loved as such!
The general goings on.

Today was my 61st day working for PSI Digital Imaging Solutions, marked by a raise from 12.50/hr to $1,084/pay period salaried. That adds up to around $2,016 extra per year, I do love my job, working for a 10 person company is pretty nice, and to have a full time position and keep advancing like this in these times is really fortunate.

Also, my car has been running without any (major) issues that prevent me from driving for a while now, so I am very happy that I can finally get around and do things on my own schedule instead of working around someone else or the bus schedules. I still have some stuff to take care of, like the blower motor (which I'm replacing this week) as well a new windshield and a set of winter tires. That combined with emissions and registration will take most of my check this coming week, but oh well... I'd rather be able to drive safely and warmly than not.

Classes are going well, I managed to secure loans for the next 9 months of classes after this quarter so I can continue to attend and study. I'm learning a lot of stuff that I can practice on at home with VM Ware and get some experience in. Despite classes going well the fact they run so late in the day and they're right after work is becoming a major drain on my sleep schedule, I think I will take a 1 quarter break after I finish my Associates and rejuvenate myself with some well earned free time.

Car!

After almost a month of hard work; frequent trips to the parts store, junkyards, and Wal-mart; and many an expletive, I have finally got the car I've been working on running! I've replaced 2 major components, the cylinder head, and a water pump, as well as the timing belts, accessory belts, and spark plugs (You should have seen the old ones), as well as a few cosmetic fixes (Like a new passenger side mirror and rearview mirror). It runs pretty good now, no squealing or rattling, no more leaks; just your usual, run of the mill engine noises. Now all I need is insurance so I can drive the damned thing!

30 Day Revies & FNM

Well, yesterday, Friday, was my 31st day of working for Plotter Supplies, Inc. and I have to say, wow, I can't believe it's already been a month! I like the people I work with, it's a great atmosphere, and being one of only 10 employees in the company feels great. I started on August 10th, at $11.00/hr, working full time with a previously unheard of hour long lunch and a reliable schedule, and now, at my 30 day review, I received a $1.50 raise! Hopefully this will get me out of my parent's place a little faster!

Also, I went to my first Friday Night Magic event! It was at the Mile High Comics here in Thornton, and I didn't do too bad for my first time. The first round wasn't any fun, my opponent didn't show so I won it by default, and then I won round 2 2:0, and lost round 3 2:1, and won round 4 2:1. I made it to the top 4, and I lost the battle to go for first, but hey, you can't have everything, and I won 2 packs of Magic 2010 for it, and I made some friends, so all in all, not to bad for $4. Can't wait until next Friday!

Zoomin on through!

Well, husky has some news, pretty good news in fact. I have successfully tested out of my IT109 class in college (Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems)! This brings my test outs to three total.. so far... which means I will finish college one quarter early, which is also a quarter in tuition I don't have to pay! Also, specifically to this class, I have freed up my Saturday mornings, and therefore my entire weekend for at least this quarter, and my course was replaced with a Monday class on Microsoft Network Operating systems (Server '03 or '08?) which I will not be behind in since this Monday was a holiday, yay for free weekends! Also on my plate for college this quarter is Linux OS and Structured Cabling... should go interesting with the server course.

Also, I've been working on a car :O for the last two weeks, although more intermittently with the schedule changes. It's a 1994 Galant, 2.4L SOHC and the timing belt broke while my dad had it and he didn't want to fix it, so I took it over. It's a lot of work, but it isn't as bad as I was thinking it would be, despite bent valves. I've replaced the cylinder head (Cheaper than buying new valves), all the related gaskets, spark plugs, and I'm working on the belts now. The belts are the second longest step since I have to get everything in alignment first and that requires some oddly placed bolts that I may or may not be able to reach, then I have to put more fluids in, and fire it up. Hopefully I'll get that done Friday before I start my weekend. Now it's time to head to work, so I'll catch ya'll later.

Birthday report

Well, the 4th has come and gone almost without a trace. It was a rather dull day to be honest, except for the dinner at Outbacks and then Laser-tag. Laser-tag was fun, but a huge disappointment, after posting to the local forums for several weeks before my birthday only 2 people showed up. So I spent the night at a friends and had a decent time, but due to some poor planning he had to go on a camping trip with his dad, so I got left at a coffee shop from 11:30am to 6pm. The place wasn't bad, I got to play some Magic, and finally got a good idea of how my deck holds up in matches and what I need to change, but every place gets boring after 6 and a half hours without having a friend there. I got a ride back home and snagged some dinner on the way, and tried doing more work on the Galant before I went to bed. I got the silent shaft belt on, but due to poor design and a poorly written maintenance manual, I can't check the alignment of it until I can get to a Mitsubishi dealer... which are all closed on Labor day... Which means until tomorrow I can't put the timing belt on, but classes start again tomorrow so I have to wait until Wednesday to do more work. Sunday I went to see D9 again, it hits harder the more you go back I think. And now I've lost my train of thought so... I 'm finished with this post for now.

Birthday! Sept 4th

Well, it's that time of year again, the anniversary of my birth into the world. This year I will likely spend the night playing laser tag down at LaserQuest for a few hours, and hang out with a few friends as well. I'll probably go someplace decent for lunch or dinner, but the plans aren't concrete. Hopefully there will be a good turnout, I sent out the posts a couple days ago so everyone has a chance to see it, and it's a Friday night which should help out as well.

In other news, I sort of have a car now, but the timing belt is broken so I can't drive it until I fix it, and I don't get paid until Monday. It was my dad's 1994 Mitsubishi Galant which was on craigslist a few days before I got him to take it off. For now he's told me to get it running before the end of September, so I don't know if he's just going to give it to me, which isn't likely, or if I'll have to give him the $300 for it, which isn't bad, but still. Either way, I plan on replacing the gaskets soon since the car has 104K miles on it, and I don't want anything to happen on the drive to MFF this year. Hopefully, I'll have it running before my birthday, and then have the gaskets and other repairs done before November.

So, if anyone wants to go to the laser tag shindig:

Where:
8988 E. Hampden Ave.
Denver, CO
80231

When: 6:00PM
Who: Everyone
Why: Birthday shindig
What: Firin ur lazors!

Also, things husky could maybe use: cuddles, passenger side mirror, access to a carpet cleaner with a hose attachment, people to play MTG with in the nearby area

Stuff

So... I was at RMFC this year, Kiba payed my registration, and I stayed in their room and Tabbicus' room, I didn't have any money except what Silver Wolf gave me to buy him swag while he was at a wedding in Mexico. I didn't have too much fun, there wasn't anyone there I was too terribly excited to meet and the people I were hoping would show up didn't, but I did have fun in Tabby's poker tournament, and playing epically huge MTG games. Rithuld loaned me a little cash too so I managed to get some art from Rukis, and a free sticky-note badge from Blotch (I will post both up later, once I have scanner access, mine doesnt like Windows 7). Anyways, enough of that.

I finally got a job, after a month of looking I got hired at Plotter Supplies, Inc, a very small company in Northglenn that sells plotters, and, you guessed it, supplies for 'em. I have my first real job now, working Monday-Friday 8-5, for $11.00/hour. It's only a 6 mile trip away, so I can get top work in under an hour, and the time of travel is about the same on bus as it is biking. I hope to be there for many years, as it is a very nice environment and there are good people there.

With the changes in my personal economy, I will soon be making several moves to put myself into a better situation across the board. First off is a phone, Skype is good and all, but I don't have internet access everywhere I go, and laptops tend not run as long on battery. Also slated for purchase is a camera, dunno what I'm going to get but it will be a pretty good one. Also in the list of things is a car of some sorts, the one I should have had 2 years ago, my parents sold it instead of getting me into Driver's Ed programs, so I'll be looking for a good tough car that can take a lot of miles and not break down. Then a fursuit as well, hopefully this year, by MFF if I get lucky, but knowing my luck it won't happen. A car, I should be able to afford in September. After I make a few major purchases like that, also to include a new desktop, everything gets shunted to savings so I can stash up a lot of cash, enough for 6 months of bills and rent for where ever I decide to move. I would get a puppy, since dogs are OK at work (Another epicness about my job) but unless my parent's let up I can't get one*sadface*. So yeah...

Coming up in a few months, MFF. I will be driving there from Denver. I've had my room reserved since January or so and I'm really looking forward to it. I will actually have MONEY to spend this time, on REAL food, and art and swag and other things, so it will be lots of fun, and I'll be coming back loaded. It will be nice to see all my friends from up in Chicago again.

And now... some odd rants...
I really hate it when people chew with their mouths open, my brother does it all the time, I swear it's intentional, but it's like that sound that makes me want to punch babies.
My step-mom is ever so aggressive, she finds the smallest mole hill and makes entire mountain ranges out of it.

And lastly...
If ceiling cat watches you masturbate,,,
And if every time you masturbate, god kills a kitten...
Does ceiling cat have an abortion every time you jerk off?
Thoughts?
