Halal Japanese Food in Kyoto & Osaka

I did a lot of research online before our travel to find places to eat in Japan since I want to try, and also let my mom & sister tries Japanese food. I'm glad there's so many halal options available these days. Thanks to the effort by Halal Media, promoting awareness of muslim-friendly menu and facilities in Japan. Among the sites that I used to plan our travel this time were Halal Media and Have Halal Will Travel. I saved the places I want to go in Google Maps on my phone and used the pocket wifi provided by the apartments we stayed to find those places. We only managed to try these three restaurants for over one-week period as (1) we cook most of the time and (2) spend our money on snacks :)

Yoshiya, Kyoto (Arashiyama)

We had their Tempura Set, Karaage Set and Kaarage Don.
I personally like their peppery karaage.

Ayam-ya, Kyoto (walkable from Kyoto Station)

We went to this ramen-ya by chance. When we got off from the train, we met a Malaysian student who's attending Kyodai. She was going for dinner at Ayam-ya and invited us to join her. I highly recommend their ramen.

Tsuki no Odori, Osaka (Dotombori)

The staff sit us at the private room that has a view onto the street. We had their Yakitori Skewer Set (2100 yen per set) which also comes with salad, rice, karaage and salty caramel gelato. The staff gave us a botol of ABC's sambal asli with our order, which totally makes us LOL and enjoyed the meal more with that spiciness. The yakitori was delicious, my mum still talks about it. The rice serving also plenty, even for a big rice-eater like me. The only thing that I wish was different is that they won't put sauce on the karaage because I'd want to taste its crispiness.

Totto Terebi - How Kuroyanagi Tetsuko Changes the Japanese TV

The drama is a biopic of THE Tetsuko-san of Tetsuko no Heya. Matsushima Hikari is playing the role of Tetsuko-san. I actually interested in the drama for Ryo because I read it his official profile before. However, I'm hooked. The first three episodes were so interesting. You can get a peek of Japanese TV and production in the 60's. Talk about costumes!

Ryo first appearance was at the end of Episode 2 and also the whole of the third episode. He played Sakamoto Kyu, one of the Japanese legendary singer.

Ryo promoted the drama several times in his J-web. He said he was so nervous during the filming because he was surrounded by the all-stars cast. Also, he exchanged contact with HamaGaku.

I only found one fansite uploading this series, filmku.net, if you're interested :) No sub though.

Happy Lunar New Year to all my friend who's celebrating!

Who else is watching Marry Me, or Not? Romcom doesn't get much better than this! Roy Chiu & Alice Ke pairing is the best. The script has a lot of clever comebacks. I like the narration at the beginning of each episode especially "Love is like run a marathon" in episode 10. The drama reminds me all the reasons I love about hatsukoi theme drama especially Hao Meng's flashbacks. My only complain is that they should air more than 1 episode per week. The wait is killing me...

Other than this drama, I had major girl crush on Ivelyn Lee as Dr.Love in 2015 Murphy's Law of Love. The principle of Murphy's Law is that "anything that can go wrong, will go wrong". Thus, the drama development use Dr.Love's Murphy's Law of Love in life and relationship, so that you'd always have a Plan B (even C, D or E) if things doesn't go according to your plan. It's a super cute modern romcom and throw in hunky Danson Tang (if he works for you). For odd reason, I'm not buying Danson Tang. Probably I prefer playful characters like Roy Chiu's in Office Girls & Marry Me, or Not. My favourite scene from the drama is when Xiao Tang "cheh" Jia Wei when he offers his tent to her in episode 5.

I share Ian Chen's song for Pleasantly Surprised drama here since Ivelyn Lee is so cute in the MV.

Boss and Me (my personal favourite) - I'm still new to Mainland China dramaland. I've started to watch Mainland China drama ever since I like a few of their movies like Li Bingbing's I do, 101 Proposals remake and Love is Not Blind. I was tricked into the drama because of the synopsis says "the female lead loves to eat" since I was looking for food-theme dramas LOL However, she only eats her bento at the rooftop and later in her boss (the male lead) office, and they had beef noodle and coffee a few times. It's an office-theme drama, with rich ice-prince vs cheerful girl character. The drama remind me of It Started with a Kiss. It's a melodrama rather than a light romcom. It's a good pick up if you like this kind of theme or a fan of the cast.

Fabulous 30 - Now that Taiwanese drama offers daily drama that seems to have endless episodes per series, it is so hard for me to pick them up these days. In fact, Fabulous 30 has 76 episodes. Even though the title is Fabulous 30, it doesn't focus so much on issues of women in their 30's like many other arasa-theme drama. Albee Huang & Danson Tang OTP is the best in the drama. Watch it if you love a drama with girls friendship theme, Danson Tang-Darren Qiu bromance, or fan of the cast.

Falls in Love with Me - The Prince and the Pauper except it's the same guy. Despite it's favourable rating (maye because of Aaron), I couldn't bring myself to finish the drama. I could only bear to watch until Episode 7. I hate both Aaron Yan's characters. Watch if you're a fan of the cast.

Lan Ling Wang (my personal favourite) - A historical period drama with Chinese, Taiwanese & Hong Kong cast. The story is breezy and so addictive. Even the fight and royal court scenes. I love how love story is told in period drama. The courting is so epic and straightforward. All in all, highly recommend even if you're not a fan of Ariel Lin, William Feng, Daniel Chan or period drama.

Love Myself or You/Pleasantly Surprised - A French-cuisine theme drama. I pickep up this drama after I finished with Amour et Pâtisserie (finally!). It's not pretty as Amour et Pâtisserie. It's also has hatsukoi theme but nothing outstanding about the drama. Watch if you're a fan of the cast.

Miss Rose - another Roy Chiu drama. My advise, skip it. The only part that I love about the drama, is Roy's narration at the beginning of the opening song.

My Best Ex-Boyfriend (my personal favourite) - A fashion-theme drama with another crossover of Chinese, Taiwanese & Hong Kong cast. I watched this drama mainly for Jerry Yan and Ron Ng (who I had major crush in Triumph in The Skies). Watchable especially if you're a fan of the cast.

The Pursuit of Happpiness (my personal favourite) - Arasa-theme drama. A slow calm romance drama where the lead character teamed up to win back their ex/dream girl but ends up fall in love with each other. Tony Yang is an eye candy. Ji An Lei & Huang Yi Kang interaction are so sweet that I had caries for this drama. However, Huang Yi Kang character is so saintly that you might hate the drama. Highly recommend if you love this kind of theme or fan of the cast. Major plus point when the song is hauntingly beautiful and fitting with the scenes.

When I See You Again - ~~I'm halfway through the drama but it's promising. He's supposely good at reading people except his hatsukoi. Watch of you're a fan of this theme or fan of the cast.~~ Halfway through, nothing interesting to move the drama along. Watch if you ship the OTP...

My friend has finally taken down all her download links since someone has claimed her scans as their own. She doesn't watermarked her scans but of course she knows which scans is hers if she sees it online. The only rule she has was don't claim her scans as your own. She got pissed once before because people are taking the scans but she only get 1-2 thank you comments and rant about it to us. And because I'm not that nice like her, I told her to stop sharing it with the community. But of course, she didn't do that earlier because what she's sharing is not widely available as Kansai Johnny's Junior and Johnny's West fandom is not that big. It's a shame for the fandom since she has a lot of stuffs and willing to scan & share it with the community. Do you even know how much time peoples take to scan/share? I just finished watching Bitter Blood, Shinigami-kun & Zoku~ Saigo Kara Nibanme no Koi *clap*clap* What a good season! I decide to wait for sub for all the other dramas. Furakawa Yuuki wasn't mentioned in Bitter Blood dramawiki last time I checked but he was a pretty decent scene stealer in it.

For Summer 2014, I'm excited for Hero 2014 since I enjoyed 2001 Hero a lot. Also, Tsumabuki Satoshi is back on TV! He's only one the earliest actor that roped me into Jdrama. It was 9 years since Slow Dance. I've waited this long for his comeback? XD (I just remember young YamaPi's image in Lunch Queen hahahhaa) And, I think Oyaji no Senaka will be a good drama. Btw, I cried a bucket with Wagaya no Rekishi yesterday. I'm curious about Mitani Kouki's work. I usually don't like male screenwriter's way of writing their female characters but I was really moved by how detailed and neat each character was written in Wagaya no Rekishi from the the young Yame's perspective. Anyway, of Jr drama, I don't approve incest or whatnot drama so no Juniors drama for me. What's with this crazy about siblings romance?

On variety, Gamushara is fun! I highly recommend for anyone who wants to know more about Tokyo Juniors since the production team do a good job capturing the boys personality for the show. I wish the boys or at least the show has a special site on JWeb. I've confirmed that the pole dance sensei is the same one who featured in Muchaburi with Yoko & Ryo last time. My Dokkun-Hokkun feels ♥ EITO RANGER WILL BE ON VS ARASHI NEXT WEEK!!! JUNIORS' INORI GUYS!! INORI!!! I don't know much about Kisumai's songs but thanks to xbettox, I love Inori~!! B5 & PIECE troops ♥♥♥ And Tera is backdancing! I like July already XD

Shin is not my fave fave but I have soft spot for this Harada otouto, if you watched Battery and all B6. Ryo JWeb like 3-4 lines max so lengthy updates is luxury LOL Eighter Kami-chan is ♥

I'm catching up with Taiwan drama & pleasantly surprised at Amour et Pâtisserie cinematic quality as it was beautifully shot.

These desserts are to die for. I want to go back to Asia, work & then go cafe tour in Taiwan. I think it would be fun :) Another drama I'm watching is Lovestore at the Corner. The love story is cliché but the book quotes in each episodes somewhat natsukashii :) Everything I know about Taiwan drama minus annoying parents, Taiwan drama's quintessential LOL

The opening songs featured coloured doors & it remind me of YamaPi's "anywhere door" in Summer Nude :)

I'm raiding LJ right now and downloading 5 months worth of stuffs. I had to buy a new external hard disk because there's not enough free space to hold all of these files. JE guys works too hard and we've to flail harder LOL I hope the subbers & uploaders won't hate me for spamming their inbox with my 'Thank you' comments T_____T

Fandom-related things that are new since my last update:

First up, TAKADA SHO. Isn't he cute?!~ He has infectious smile in Battery & I've watched the drama 238401843 times already. YUMA & TAKADA SHO is ♥ I haven't watched Black President yet but I don't think he has much screen time. On another note, I love YUMA and his haircut in SMOKING GUN. Why can't we have more Yuma?Anyway, Mr.Children sings Battery theme song, so I'm kinda in Mr. Children mood.

More baseball drama for warming-up myself before I start with Nino drama, or so I thought. ROOKIES/sports drama is just what I need right now. But it's a bad idea to watch drama with your headphones because there's no reason not to like men with deep voices. Who's this ANIYA guy? Not my fetish but still... Surprisingly, no Johnny's in ROOKIES. Again, it's a really good drama. Kiritani Kenta is adorbs! Now I know where they, Ryusei no Kizuna people, found him.

Kano-uso feels with SDK Sato Takeru

Sato Takeru always make good movie and this is the second time Kubota Masataka plays his signature (at least to me) Summer Nude's Hikaru character. LOVE. This movie (and Beck) put SHARK to shame. You can do better Johnny's~

I'm on Episode 8 Ikemen Desu Ne. I'm finishing this drama. Finally. I feel like a big accomplishment to change a drama status from 'dropped' → 'watching' → 'completed' on mydramalist LOL

Last but not least, GAMUSHARA!! Where I've been??!!! Do you even need to guess what's my favourite segment? xD 1. Unnecessary flirting 2. It's so hard to watch because God knows what sound Hokuto ♥ makes while biting into those hot foods... *I just can't~* Also, the intro to HOKU HOKU HOKUTO ♥ segment just make me I laugh. "#1 cool Johnny's Jr" LOL Hokuto ♥ is smart, he's already calculated fangirls reaction (including mine) And then, THAT POLE-DANCING and ~~YOU KNOW WHAT~~ THIGHS . Last time we saw it was in Pin to Kona. I got all teary when I realised Hokuto ♥ was going to pole dance because Ryo pole-danced in Muchaburi. It's creepy, I know.(Who cares about your hair~)

I still have hundred of stuffs to watch.

Nobody told me about the clear file~! I was expecting a solo & group card like the one badbatazz received. Probably because we each ordered a different version xD Brought it along to the with me so I can watch it this evening. I hope it works with the uni PC.

And owh, I managed to get Sexy Second limited edition despite I placed the order after the pre-order period. I like LE-B cover the best because everyone looks so fine (Yeah, I like idols looks all grown up) and appreciate simplicity of RE King of Otoko cover (and it fits better with my baby budget even if it means I'm only saving 200ish yen LOL). I'm aware of all LE's covers meme going around but I don't really get the asthetic value of gold Eito. Gold = king? Did they mentioned about this in the PV makings? I'm not ready to have a semi-naked CD cover laying around my room. Anyway, these will remain as they are -- in the plastic cover because that's how I roll. I only opened Ebii's because want to check the card thingy~ It's no longer mint :( I won't invite mklia to my house because she wants to tear all my CDs plastic covers LOL

or so she said... I crawled out from manga reading and finally finished Summer Nude! Nothing much to the drama besides Chiba sceneries and a bulk of sappy one-sided love. I'm so pathetic for liking pathetic Hikaru (my favourite character. I was surprise that the Bakaleya yankee can be this adorable ♥) and pathetic Hanae rather than care about Asahi-Natsuki development. He has to work at the video shop because she's stopping by everyday. No~!! I l-o-v-e cheesy lines, over-dramatic-shoujo-manga-moments but the drama wasn't as good as other friend turned lover dramas like Overtime or Osozaki no Himawari. Pi's manboob was a bonus but I personally prefer Toma's "ore ore" late night phone calls. I still like the cast line up though and Summer Nude '13. I never like Nagasawa Masami and she was good as hateful ex-girlfriend Kasumi. ~~Can I have Sosuke come back to life and slap her?~~

Nobody told me Yoo Ahin ♥ is playfully charming in Fashion King. I avoided the drama for 2 years just because of the poster~!

His character nothing close to a serious fashion company president. Watching a melodrama with too many serious characters will kill me. I have aged after watching The Moon Embraces The Sun so I made a rule, only to watch one melodrama a year. I lost interest in kdrama but Yoo Ahin is among a few actor I still keep up with. Even my sis aka my kdrama supplier, can figure who I still like and who I don't, even though I rarely talk with her about kdrama since I got into JE. I like him since He Who Can't Marry days (Korean version of Abe Hiroshi's Kekkon Dekinai Otoko). He's so cheeky in He Who Can't Marry, my friend had hard time to believe Hyeon Goo and Young Gul were acted by the same person. Told her, "I can see potentials" LOL

Bbye Chicken Basket~ The sub for the final episode just been released. I enjoyed the drama more than I expected. After all, it's a good thing not to have expectations. The first episode kinda good. They even have fanboys in the crowd so the gig scene kinda realistic (remember Buzzer Beat supporters?) Seeing Hamada being paired, atarashii~ Also, I always know him as tennen and someone who always being bullied by his kouhai but with this episode, now I see him in a new light. It feels weird though hearing Ryuusei, Kami-chan & Hama-chan not talking in Kansai-ben and apparently, Ayumu is a sweet talker ♥ I'm expecting nothing less from Hokuto & Iwamoto who are good actors and good at fanservice too. But to listen to Keep Walking with unfavourable vocal *geh* Do they even have to dress these two with a similar red jacket, Sho & Shori? (refer SC 2013.12.11)
