Medical library

Today work took me on a journey[*] past the medical school, so I spent a happy half hour in the medical library looking for a book to finish my reading challenge with ("A book from the library"). I have loved the medical library ever since I first visited and found that (a) they had a fiction section and (b) they had a copy of The Thackery T. Lambshead Pocket Guide to Eccentric & Discredited Diseases shelved with the non-fiction books. The library's calm and reassuring in a 70s kind of way, and I can happily spend hours browsing in there. Today their skeleton was looking appropriately festive and the librarian approved of me borrowing history of medicine books.

They were also selling off some of their old books, so I have a couple of old neurology text books and a copy of some of Primo Levi's memoirs (coincidentally my dad was recommending I read these only last weekend).

[*] Obscure 90s goth reference: doo do-do-do doooo doo doo doo. You're welcome.
