The bullying of young LGBT individiuals NEEDS TO STOP!!! This past week alone I have read online about at least three or four suicides of young LGBT individuals due to bullying.
The police needs to step up. The prosecuters of this country need to step up. The government needs to make a new law. A law that states that if someone bullies someone due to their age, sex, race, or even and especially their sexual orientation and the person that was bullied commits suicide, the bully will be arrested and charged with either third degree murder and/or manslaughter.
Likewise if you are a teacher, principal, or any other part of a school administration and you KNOW that a student is being bullied for their sexual orientation, and the person getting bullied commits suicide and you did NOTHING to stop the bullying, you will be arrested and charged w/negligent homicide. That charge will also go to the parents of the bullies if they are aware their child is acting in such manner.
Maybe, if enough people get a HUGE wake up call and wind up in jail for either actions *by bullying* or lack of actions *by, as an adult and not doing anything to prevent it*, then maybe these tragic and hateful incidients will STOP.
There are hate crimes laws out there…the goverment needs to amend the laws and allow these bullying actions be part of hate crime laws.
