EPILOGUE MEME. I'd love you if you did it. :)

So. The CJ Big 4 in Las Vegas concert. *___________* MADE OF A LOT OF AWESOME. Oh my God, you guys. My life was turned completely shiny this weekend... save for majority of Sunday, but we'll talk about that later.

The majority of my pictures are on a borrowed camera... I tried to unload the pictures through my camera but I don't get any of the videos that way, so I'm gonna return the dica to my friend and ask him to burn the pictures and videos for me. :DDD

First off, I want to thank my best friend in the whole wide world and her mom for taking me to the airport and also picking me up. My original plan was to leave my car at the airport overnight, but by offering to take me, Nikki saved me the overnight parking fee. ^^

But yeah, I decided to make this post the concert squeeing post, and do a separate complaining one in the next post. Let's just say that United Airlines suck hardcore. DD: Hilarious however that I'm doing this post so fast... whereas I still haven't uploaded my pictures from Hollywood Bowl. In my defense, my pictures from this concert are SO MUCH BETTER.

I got to Las Vegas around 7:30am or so, and got to my hotel by 8am. I got out of the gate and I knew I was in Las Vegas. I saw the slot machines. XDD

I was staying at the Excalibur because it was the cheapest hotel that came with my flight package. :/ First thing I thought to myself when I was riding in the shuttle was... "I'm staying across the street from the Pyramid one and MGM Grand... wtf, I'm so cheap." I forgot to take a picture of the Excalibur, but there wasn't much to look at really. It's a castle wannabe. But yeah, I couldn't check into the hotel until at least noon, so with me with my backpack on my back and Coach purse on my shoulder, went down South Las Vegas BLVD until I reached Caesar's Palace. I saw cops talking to some hookers on the way, and the sidewalks there were littered with so much XXX business cards, I've never seen so many pictures of blonde bimbos in my life. Should've taken a picture of that too, damn.

Wish I could've stayed here. There's so many BEAUTIFUL shops inside Caesar's Palace, omg. Chanel, YSL, D&G, A|X, Gucci, Fendi, Prada, sldkfsdf fuck you name it, they have it. I also felt very poor, but with all the replicas of Italian/Roman art and architecture around I kinda felt cultured. HAHA, cultured in Las Vegas.

I kinda went walking around the shops and around the casino... also kind of scoped around the outside of the Colosseum to see where the artists could possibly be coming out after the show. Whether I was inside or outside in Vegas, I kept on coughing so bad. All the nicotine filled air was not good for my lungs. T____T

I went into some shops... the first thing I bought was a present for Nikki, as a thank you and part of her birthday present. I wanted to also get a picture of Chris Angel's supposed glass office but I couldn't find it, I was probably in the wrong area? idk. But the shop that was selling office Chris Angel merch was also an exotic car shop where you can rent them too. sldkfs ugh, so expensive and beautiful and I REALLY WISH I WAS RICH.

I left Caesar's after that, because it was about 11am? I decided to walk through the casinos to avoid the desert heat outside. I'm an AC junkie, what can I say? From Caesar's I went to Bellagios, and that hotel/casino is just as shiny. I went walking around a bit and found this really cool patisserie place that caught my attention because they had crepes. And then I saw the chocolate fountain and lskdfs magnificent. I got myself a fruit tart, cheesecake, and an iced coffee to get my energy up and to stay awake. At this point I've only slept an hour since Thursday night?

I went back to Excalibur by 12:30pm and checked in, got to my room and took a shower. I still had a lot of time left, I tried watching TV but there was seriously nothing to do. Tried taking a nap but the coffee and sugar were making their rounds through my system so I couldn't. I got bored so I decided to put my hair in french braids so they'd be curly looking for tonight. :D

Left my hotel at 4pm after finishing basic make-up and all. Walked through NY-NY hotel/casino, saw the LV Coyote Ugly bar. I kinda wanted to go inside and see some girls clog dance or something, but I didn't. I was afraid they'd card me or something. Have I mentioned how boring it can get in Las Vegas when you don't have money to throw away or if you're not 21 yet? You can't gamble or drink or shop or... anyways. Eventually got back to Caesar's. I looked around the entrance to the Colosseum and people were starting to gathered up by there but still not a lot. I went to F.A.O Shwartz to buy a present for Epik High guys, I remember watching an episode of Music Core that Tablo liked little figurine things so I was looking around all three floors for something like it. I ended up getting three Smurf figurines, but now that I think back on it, I wished I wasn't so cheap and bought tons of Star Wars stuff for them instead.

I kinda squeeed when I saw the dolls though, not a big Barbie fan so I almost passed these up (but they're not Barbie dolls), but these dolls are kinda awesome. Especially the Wizard of Oz/Wicked ones. I WANTED THE ELPHABA ONE SO BADLY YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW.

I was walking back from F.A.O to the Colosseum and by chance I ran into DJ Tukutz. He was dressed in that white shirt/black suit combo that they wear, with an unlit cigarette dangling from his mouth. I wasn't sure if it was him at first but once I got closer... I kinda pointed at him and went "DJ TUKUTZ!" which then he stopped and looked at me. He was in a rush, but I bowed and said "Ahnyounghasaeyo", and he did the same and walked on. I wished that I could've given him my present then, but he was in a rush to get... wherever he was going, idk.

I called arisato and nikki_wright right after meeting him, and walked around some more to see if I could run into some more people. I think I saw members of SG Wannabe, but I didn't know what they looked like prior to the concert so I might've just walked on by. T____T Later I found out after talking with some people who were waiting to be let in that if only I stuck around the entrance, I could've met people. These four people talked to the guys of Epik High and SeeYa. cry. I ended up begging some woman to take my present and give them to the guys because no one came back around to the entrance. :/

On the ticket it says the concert starts at 7pm, but really the doors opened then and it started a little after 8pm. I met a really nice girl named Sami there, who came from Orange County, CA. Vietnamese girl, she was there to see SeeYa. And later was completely in love with SG Wannabe... especially JinHo. We got two glow sticks and I ♥ Hyori balloons for free, that was kinda cool. I wish I snabbed more of the balloons though, I'm sure they had plenty left. By the time the concert started and people were in their seats, the $60+ seats (the 2nd mezz) were completely empty, so they even shut off the lights up there. And only the middle section in the first mezz was filled up. Otherwise, everyone else was in the orchestra section. This concert didn't have that much promo so I didn't expect it to be sold out, but I wish there was more of a turn out.

The concert had this concept thing where each of the artists performing would have a category thing... SG Wannabe had 'sorrow', Lee Hyori had 'desire', Epik High had 'anger', and the only one I can't seem to remember is SeeYa's concept. >.>;

First up, it was a girl group called SBlush for the opening. They only sang one song and introduced themselves and left. They had the sexy concept and spoke a lot of English...and apparently been around a year, but idk. Then SG Wannabe came out, and I can't believe I never really listened to them before. THEY ARE SO AMAZING. Their voices are incredible and they're not bad looking either. I'm completely in love with JinHo, seeing how he was the most active one on stage. The other two, DongHa and YongJun were just... standing there. Except for random times where DongHa decided he wanted to move too. But for that same reason, whenever JinHo did something like ruffle his hair or dance a bit, all the girls that were there... as well as the old ladies who were sitting next to me were going "WHOOOO!!!" and at one point where he was taking off his jacket: "TAKE IT OFF!!!!" But yeah, I've downloaded two of their albums to start me off now and I definitely encourage everyone to have a listen too. *_____*

Next was what I was mainly there for. EPIK HIGH. Now they know how to put on a fucking good show. They sang 8 songs. slkdfs I really think they sang the most, even more than Hyori. Their setlist went like this...

I took a recording of the entire show... at least up to Hyori before the battery died, so maybe if I'm feeling generous I'll upload it for Epik High? When talking to the audience these guys are so hilarious. Tablo talked about how during his college days he came to Vegas to win money to pay for Stanford, and how he'll now pass around a hat for the audience to put in a dollar so they can do gamble... and once they win they'll split it equally with everyone. XDDD I noticed that when speaking English his voice sounds a tiny bit deeper than when speaking Korean? Does that make me too obsessed for noticing, you think?

I cannot describe how awesome they are. I took so many videos of them, but they're on the other camera. And both YouTube and PB have that 100MB limit for videos... I have to reduce them all. >.> I love that Tablo told everyone to get up at the beginning of 'Flow' and then asked why people sat back down before going into 'Follow the Flow'. He told those of us who still had healthy legs to stand back up. XDDD Haha, and the security didn't do much so I got to go up by the stage a lot. Except at this one point at the start of their performance where the security guy said I have to go back to my seat and I'm telling him I'll go once Tablo looks at me, rofl. By request, I called nikki_wright during 'Flow'... totally surprised that they would sing this song but fantastic nonetheless, and befitting of their appointed concept. And once 'Love Love Love' started I called arisato. I let the phone on from then to... the end of the their set, but I don't know how much Cait got, because once I got back to my seat the phone had disconnected.

SeeYa came afterwards, and I knew less about them than SG Wannabe, unfortunately. Even though they're apparently the female versions of the male trio. Before looking into SGW, the only thing I knew about them was that some of them (uh, JinHo) performs so eccentrically that HeeChul liked to immitate him. XD; If anyone knows that one episode of New Xman during Star Battle, you know what I'm talking about. But anyways, they sang a few songs... the only one I knew of was 'Shoes'. They also sang one song in Chinese... which I only knew because they kept on singing "wo ai ni" during the chorus.

Lee Hyori was the last act. She had this cheesy video of coming to the hotel in a van with her backup dancers, kinda partying and fooling around in the car (for the camera), to the back of the Colosseum, up the stairs to the backstage, and then to the actual stage where she came out and started dancing. She's gorgeous, you guys. She looked at me (or somewhere around me) and smiled, and I swear that smile can turn a girl into a lesbian or something. She performed (not in order) '10 Minutes', 'Dark Angel', 'Get Ya', 'Toc Toc Toc', '그녀를 사랑하지마', a cover of Britney Spears' 'Everytime', the first couple of lines from 'Memory' from the musical Cats, and some other songs which I can't remember the titles to. She had this awesome tango dance choreography before '그녀를 사랑하지마'. *_____*

Since Hyori had costume changes, they played random clips of stuff to pass the time. One of the clips were of her at Lee JunKi's birthday celebration, where she talks about how she introduced BoA to JunKi hoping they'd hit it off and date, etc. And then other clips of her mini-drama '사랑한다면 이들처럼", then finally this kind of cheesy trailer-esque thing about there being a prophecy of Hyori coming to Las Vegas as a "Dark Angel" with random Las Vegas aerial views and short shots from the "Get Ya" music video.

l;asdk;lksdfjas, amirite? During the last two-three songs of her set, she and the backup dancers were dressed... well, you can see it in the picture, and at one point she had the dancers go down the stange into the audience to pick a guy and bring him up to the stage. They tied his arms over his head to their "cage". She sexy danced in front of him and then with him... interviewed him (like "do you have a girlfriend?"), kinda joked about his nervousness and lack of erection, also gave him a hug and sent him off the stage where the backup dancers brought up another guy - American this time (the first guy was Korean). He was... very enthusiastic. They did the same thing like the first guy, except the interview part was short because of the language barrier... but he was hitting on her so bad with what little Korean he knew, telling her that she's beautiful and that he doesn't have a girlfriend. Hyori made a point to say that his Korean went from formal to informal, haha. He also stole her little cane and tapped her on the butt with it (jealous! jk), sexy danced with her kinda horribly, kissed her cheek when she gave him a hug.

The concert ended after Hyori, I wished that all of the artists came out and sang a collab song together, a cover of an old song even like they did for the Hollywood Bowl. But no, the dancers came out first and bowed, followed by the band. Then the artists rolled out, and it was hilarious, Epik High guys came out with their mouths taped closed. XDDD

At the end of the concert, Sami and I went outside quick to wait for the artists around the back where they could've possibly came outside. Begged with the security guy to let me go backstage to take just one picture, but no go. I ended up going back inside to the main entrance. Good thing I did though, first one of the guys from SG Wannabe came running out and away with his security guy... I think it was DongHa. Afterward Hyori came out, I almost didn't recognize her. She was so tiny!! She came out wearing her hair in a bun, the Pink sweatpants from Victoria Secrets... I got to see her face to face and bowed to say hello (like I did for Tukutz earlier) and how much I enjoyed the show. There was no chance I was getting a picture, she was being ushered away so fast.

Later JinHo came out, and I asked if I could get one picture of him... his security guy was telling him to ignore me and keep going, so JinHo just smiled and said he was sorry and walked away. SeeYa came out afterwards, but I couldn't even get near them to say a word. After that... the backup dancers came out and they were taking their time, hanging out in front taking pictures at the banner and stuff. I was surprised that no one was asking to take pictures with them or anything, I liked the backup dancers, the unnies were cool. I took pictures of them, and then the girls told me to take pictures with them. The guys came out shortly after so I took pictures with them too.

Finally, Epik High came out, and that's who everyone was waiting for. Everyone crowded Tablo... I think DJ Tukutz and Mithra Jin walked away ok? A little boy came up to Tablo and he hugged him and patted him on his head. Maybe a relative? Does Tablo have a little brother? I can't remember. But I asked him if he got my gift and he said "Yeah I just got it. Thank you." als;kdfjs my first words exchanged with Tablo, I felt incredibly happy.

On my way back to my hotel, I stopped at a restaurant that was open in NYNY late into the night and got something to eat, I was really hungry at that point. Then I walked back to my hotel, got into my room... set my alarm just in case I fell asleep and tried watching TV. I did end up sleeping, and woke up around 6:15am, right when my flight was departing. I got my stuff packed up and washed up quickly, checked out and went to the airport around 7:30? I was in line to go through security... and I look back and the dancers from last night are there, how cool. I bowed to the unnies and they recognized me, which was even better.

Now I was put on standby to go on the 8:32am flight to San Francisco, which was the plane the dancers were getting on... assuming that they're connecting there and then going to Korea. There were five seats left on the plane and I was about to go on... except the closed the hatch without letting any of the standbys on. So I wait for the next plane which was like two hours later? I went to go get some food and then walk around some more... and I passed by someone who looked like Mithra Jin. I told myself I was seeing things, but when I turned around and walked back three minutes later, there was Tablo, Tukutz, and Mithra on the Star Wars slot machines. :OOOO

I stopped and talked to Tablo a bit, I kinda froze up in my fangirling that I said some pretty stupid things to him like "When are you leaving?"... which he replied "Now? I'm at the airport." XD;; Way to make an impression, me. He was adorable though, saying thanks for complimenting him on the show and all. And he was patient enough to take a picture with me - I had to take it on my cell phone because the cameras were in the back which I checked in...and my phone being LG Chocolate, is very stubborn when taking pictures. Tukutz was in a big hurry to get back to everyone else, but he still took a picture with me. And Mithra Jin was I think the nicest. He didn't say much, but he took his time to say a couple of words and take a picture. ♥ I could've gotten on the same plane with them to SFO, but the flight ended up being overbooked so it was unfortunate but at least I got to meet them. I was talking on the phone to arisato and was being greedy... I asked Tablo as he was bording if he'd just say 'hi' on the phone and he said "I'd prefer not." I felt so sorry and just sorta mumbled "bye" and backed off. T_____T

Then I was stuck at the airport forever, having to go to another airline and buying a new plane ticket to come home. DD: The End. XD;;;;;

FINALLY. I hope the links didn't expire already, it's been like a week or two since I uploaded them but I never posted them. Ugh. (Though, apparently DivShare allows other people to look through others' uploaded files...since some have a file DL count already? Well then, thanks for keeping my files alive, I guess.)

Let me tell you that the only way I can listen to Hip-Hop, R&B, or Rap is only in Korean. Maybe a little bit of Japanese, but never Western. idk, I've disliked it since middle school. I remember I liked it a little bit when I was in like 4th or 5th grade, only because I had no idea what it was and my BFF introduced it to me. :/

Epik High, how I love thee. I remember listening to their first album a long time ago and I wasn't really into the Hip-Hop genre so I guess I didn't like it. And then their recent CD came out with "Fan" and "Love Love Love" and "Flow" and lskdfjs bunch of other songs because it's a 2 disc album. *_____* lskdf and I love Tablo to bits and pieces. :">

Fly to the Sky. They've officially gone 'no genre' now, right? So I can't put anything to it, but yeah.. there's a whole mix of genres in there and it's. so. beautiful. I should also listen to Brian's solo stuff too at some point.

Ivy's more like... pop and and some ballads, with some dance/hip-hop induced songs. I'm still a little bitter at her, even though it's not her fault, that she was picked for HB. Her "Sonata of Temptation" makes me LOL everytime I see her perform it because she does this hand thing and sticks her head out, idk. And in the music video, though a total rip-off of Advent Children, she makes a pretty decent cosply!Tifa.

I planned on having this post up days ago, but studying got in the way. I think I did ok on my math test (two questions I was iffy on though) and hopefully I'll pass my Astronomy test tonight. As long as I don't fall asleep, which is exactly what I feel like doing now.

Anyways. THIS CRAZY 13 MEMBER BOYBAND FROM SOUTH KOREA UNDER SM ENTERTAINMENT LABEL. ♥ homg~ *_* SuJu Wiki for you.

Ok, so I won't lie. At first I was kind of blah about them because of the tense situation of the SM Entertainment audition that Nikki and I had, along with the fact that they kept on playing "U" over and over again. I must have had that one line stuck in my head for days. XD;

Then I listened to more of the SM TOWN stuff and then watched Bad Family with HeeChul and then Super Junior Full House and then more of their music... and I ♥ them. So much that I'm dying to go to the Hollywood Bowl for the 5th Annual Korean Music Festival. ;____; Dongsaeng receipt has been begging me to go, and I really want to. Just need confirmation from other people who I've asked to go with before I can call to reserve tickets? :X I haven't even told my parents yet. YEY HOLLYWOOD BOWL HERE I COME. :D

Because I don't have to go to work tonight, I figured I should do something..."productive". Also called procrastinating from studying and writing that paper for Sociology... ^^;

I also haven't done one of these in a real long time so bear with me. You get none of those fancy tables and such. XD

Go from this: to this:

Notes before I begin: I abuse the Soft Light layer a lot. ;) Made using Adobe Photoshop 7.

Step 01: First, get your base image. I used this picture of Yamashita Tomohisa. ♥ Crop it to your liking.

Step 02: I always do Auto Levels, Auto Color, and Auto Contrast (in that order) to my bases. Then, because the base still looked too yellowish/green, I went to Image > Adjustments > Variations...from there, you move the adjuster to the one slot before "Fine" (under midtones), then click Darker and More Magenta once. Then I Sharpen Edges because I like my icons looking a little crisp.

Step 03: Duplicate the base. Desaturate, with opacity set at 75%.

Step 04: Create a new layer. Flood fill with #C0B5D3, set to Soft Light with the opacity at 100%.

Step 05: Duplicate the base layer twice. Drag both duplicates to the very top. Set both to Soft Light, the first at 100%, and the other 33%.

Step 06: Create a new adjustment layer for Color Balance. Preserving the Luminosity, put Shadows at -17, -9, +4, Midtones at -31, -7, +23, and Highlights at 0, +4, 0.

Step 07: Text. "yamapi" in size 10, font Violation, crisp, #C0B5D3. Underneath it, "yamashita tomohisa" in size 4, font Trebuchet MS, crisp, #A4A4A4.

Step 08: Using awmp's tutorial here, I created a light texture brush. Using the brush in size 11px, I created three new layers, using the following three colors in this order: #511248, #C0B5D3, and #0C332E. Gaussian Blur the layers, #511248 layer at the radius at 0.2px, #C0B5D3 layer at the radius of 8.0px, and #0C332E at the radius of 0.5px.

Step 09: Take the three layers you just created, set them all on Screen. Change the opacity of #511248 to 37%, #C0B5D3 to 63%, and #0C332E to 37%.

And there you have the final product. As per usual, the tutorial may not work for every single image exactly, so play around with the opacity or other colors a bit. Feel free to ask me if there's something that needs to be clarified.

Summary: It wasn’t as if he’d never been kissed before. Zacharias can recall every single kiss that he’s received in his life, and he can still count them on one hand.
Notes: Unbeta-ed, so forgive me of any mistakes. Also haven't written anything in the longest time, so it'll probably be unbearable to read. I'm afraid of posting it elsewhere. I like feedback. Also, for arisato, it's her 21st birthday today! :D

Zacharias Smith had just been kissed, and rather passionately, by someone he never expected in his lifetime. He stood in the middle of greenhouse six, shocked; watching Harry Potter clumsily excusing himself, banging his knee on one of the work tables as he heads for the door. Zacharias stood there long after Harry had gone and left, his limbs refusing to move.

Then finally, he licked his lips.

It wasn't as if he'd never been kissed before. Zacharias can recall every single kiss that he's received in his life, and he can still count them on one hand. He never felt it was something to be embarrassed about when his dorm mates would jest about his lack of experience. Personally, he always had a feeling that Ernie was making up his stories of lip lock. It was always "This girl over the hols" with him.

His first kiss had been with Megan Jones, a lively girl, in his fourth year. She had an awful habit of calling him 'Zach', and he wouldn't speak a word to her until she corrected herself. He constantly reminded her that he prefers being called 'Zacharias' over to all incessant nicknames, and as annoying as it was, he still enjoyed her company.

It was on the way back to the Hufflepuff common room from the Yule Ball when they kissed, they had gone together and purely as friends. They left the ball earlier than most; Megan was generous enough to notice Zacharias wasn’t having the greatest time. And true enough, Zacharias would have rather spent the night talking over the next task with Cedric instead. Zacharias mumbled a small "sorry" her way, but she paid him no attention as they walked through the halls, faint sounds from the ball echoing still.

"At least we stayed long enough to hear them play 'Do the Hippogryff'."

"You can still go back."

A shake of her head made her fancy curls bounce, vaguely reminding him of a coiled snake on top of Medusa's head. He daren't say a word of it to Megan. "It’s okay, Zach."

Silence. She knows why.

"You’ve got a stick up your bum, Zacharias."

A snort, followed by a fit of giggles comes from the two Hufflepuffs.

They reach their common room, head inside to the stairs to their respective dormitory. Megan fidgets with the thin bracelet on her wrist and Zacharias earnestly refuses to think of this as awkward. He reckons he should do something out of etiquette, to thank her for sticking with him through this drearily festive night. He steps forward, arms open up to give her what he classifies as a friendly hug (his arms will barely go around her, and he will pull back as soon as he pats her twice on her back). She misinterprets and leans in, kissing him fully on the lips.

Megan is blushing furiously, excusing herself and running up the stairs to her room. Zacharias is stunned, caught totally unaware. He can't help but notice that her lip gloss taste of strawberries.

His second kiss was less surprising than the first, although it did leave some questions left unanswered. And in a way, his second kiss could very well count as his "other" first kiss.

Zacharias remembers that day perfectly. But of course, everyone at Hogwarts and this side of the United Kingdom should as well. It was a decent day in late June, it wasn’t too hot and there was a pleasant breeze. The final preparations for the final third task was nearly complete, and soon Hogwarts was crowded more than ever with witches and wizards who’ve shown up to watch.

He spent the day in the quidditch locker rooms with Cedric, patiently sitting silently as Cedric would pace back and forth, occasionally reassuring the Hogwarts Champion when he seemed to be on the edge of being a nervous wreck.

"You'll be fine, Ced."

Cedric mutters the new spells he’s learned for this task under his breath, as well as the ones he already memorized over the years. His wand emits sparks in his hand every time his voice gets louder than a small murmur.

"Ced." Zacharias presses his badge when Cedric finally stops pacing and looks at him. 'Potter Stinks' immediately appears and he lets out a laugh.

"You don't have to stay here, you know." Cedric walks over to him, sitting beside him on the bench. Zacharias notes that he’s sitting closer than usual, their knees are almost touching. "Thanks for being here all the same."

Zacharias shrugs, his mind more focused on the fact that their knees are pressed together now. Cedric laughs again and ruffles Zacharias's hair, and Zacharias wrinkles his nose in annoyance, swatting his hand away, but happy that he seems to be back to his old self. Zacharias looks at Cedric with curiosity when his quidditch captain and friend puts his arm around his shoulders, leaning against him.

"Think I'll win?"

"No, you'll trip and fall as soon as you step into the maze."

"That’s harsh, Zacharias."

Another laugh, followed by a punch on the shoulder. Cedric reaches over and touches the badge on Zacharias's chest, careful not to press on it. He's sitting closer, almost hovering over the younger boy. He finally cups his face, letting go of the badge, and kisses Zacharias, his tongue gliding over his lips seeking entrance to his mouth.

Zacharias opened his mouth, and Cedric tasted of peppermint.

A day passed since Harry Potter had kissed Zacharias, and everywhere he looked, Harry was nowhere to be found. It was an odd thing, Zacharias mused, to kiss someone and avoid them as if their life depended on it the next day.

It was by chance that Zacharias found Harry in the boys' bathroom on the sixth floor. Harry desperately tried to evade Zacharias, accidentally splattering hand soap over the front of his robes (and Zacharias wonders how he can be so accident-prone). He's stopped when Zacharias casts a leg-locker curse on him, falling to the cold floor.

"Your skills've improved." Harry says dumbly, taking off his glasses and wiping at them with the hem of his sleeve.

Zacharias crouches down in front of Harry. "Vanilla."

In the midst of putting his glasses back on, Harry looks dumbstruck. "Va- huh?"

"You taste like vanilla."

Harry gapes, then goes back to cleaning his glasses again with his sleeve, as he doesn’t know how to reply. Zacharias puts a hand on Harry's chin, leaning forward and capturing his lips, tasting them. A small clatter resounds in the bathroom when Harry drops his glasses.

"Vanilla," Zacharias repeats for the last time, standing back up and staring down at Harry. He releases the curse and leaves the bathroom, leaving Harry still seated on the cold bathroom floor.

Harry picks up his glasses and puts them on, smacking his lips and smiling when he tastes a hint of cinnamon lingering on his lips.

Ok, so I am doing a friends cut. I'm just getting rid of the abandoned LJs and people who have me added who...have never cared for any of my LJ entries. I've been skimming my friends page for the last couple of days and I hate doing that...I just pass by the community posts most of the time, but I practically read everyone's journal entries, but I haven't been doing that lately. I guess that means I have to clean up a bit, ne?

I generally hate friends cut, I know I always go "omg, what went wrong?" when I get cut by someone else, but it can't be helped.

Icon Tut #3

Oookay, since I have no life, I decided to do yet another icon tutorial. It's been a while since I did my last one, and a friend asked me to do one for this particular icon anyways. ^^

Go from this: to this:

Programs used: PS7

So, we have the base: , which I got from a bunch of caps I took of Ryan Gosling from the movie, Murder By Numbers. Crop the original image (100x100) and Auto Contrast (Image > Adjustments > Auto Contrast).

Duplicate the base layer, desaturate (Image > Adjustments > Desaturate), and lower the opacity to 30%.

It should look like this:

Duplicate the base layer again, and set it on top of the desaturated layer, and change the blend mode to Soft Light, 100% opacity.

So far:

The icon looks more defined without having to sharpen it, and it seems like it has more depth. But I wanted to make the colors brighter and more contrasted -

With the lasso tool (example), select Ryan's shirt like so:

I also selected his eyes too. Create a new layer and flood fill the selection with #5F8CE3. Blend mode Color, 100%.

This is the result:

Under the Colored layer, apply the text. The reason for the text being under the color layer is because it gives sort of a glow around the text. I chose a quote from the movie - "What's a dork like you know about power?"

First text layer, font is Georgia, bold, size 7pt, anti-alias smooth, color #FFFFFF, and text is "what's a dork like you".

Second text layer, font is also Georgia, bold, size 9pt, AV width spacing 350 (example), anti-alias smooth, color #FFFFFF, text is "know about".

Third text layer, font is Arial Black, size 18pt, AV width spacing 225, anti-alias smooth, color #FFFFFF, text is "power?" in caps.

This is what all the text looks like: and this is what the text on the icon looks like:

And here we select a brush by _joni: . On a new layer above the Color layer, apply the brush in #5F8CE3.

Because I'm a loser with nothing better to do past midnight because I made the mistake of taking a much needed nap...I made icons after I got Photoshop to work right again.

Some are old, some are new, some are crap, some are alright.

Feeling productive

And here's yet another tut...I'm feeling quite proud. At least doing this helped me ignore things and put my bitchyness aside. >D

Go from this: to this:

Programs used: PS7. Should be easy to translate into other programs.

We have our base:

First off, make sure that your icon has a border. I have a 1px border in #888888. Since it's black and white, I want to add some sephia toning. Make sure the Image Mode is in RGB.

Create a new layer - flood fill with with #816859. Blend mode - Soft Light, 100%. Duplicate the Soft Light layer, reduce the opacity to 20%. Flatten image.

You should get this:

Because of the Soft Light layers, the blacks are predominant. So, go to Image > Adjustments > Variations. Move the little arrow towards fine like so: . Lighten twice.

Very subtle difference:

Now, duplicate the base. Blend mode set to Screen, 100%. Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur, with the radius at 3.

Should look like this:

Duplicate the base layer again, drag it on top of the Screen layer, set to Soft Light, 100%.

And you get this:

Create a new layer - flood fill with #704D59. Blend mode - Color, 100%.

Looks like:

Another new layer - flood fill with #9A7762. Set the blend mode to Multiply, 20%.

And you get:

Another new layer - use this horizontal line brush: made by...I actually have no clue who it's by...I have all my resources on my user info, sometimes they mesh - in #9A7762. Reduce opacity to 20%.

We get this:

Yet another new layer, moving on to gradients. Take this gradient: made by yours truly, blend mode to Overlay, 50%.

Result being:

Last new layer before brushes and text - another gradient, this one made by crumblingwalls: . Change the blend mode to Difference, 40%.

Image before text and brushes:

On a new layer, we use this brush by teh_indy, I believe: in #FFFFFF. Blend mode to Soft Light, 100%, duplicate once.

And now the text. On a new text layer, I used "she's got wicked style", again taking a tibit from a song...which was "What You Waiting For?" by Gwen Stefani. Good song, btw. So, the font we'll be using is Georgia, 5pt, anti alias at sharp, color is #FFFFFF. One space between each letter, two between spaces. Like the brush layer, blend mode on Soft Light, 100%. Duplicate once.

And this is the final icon:

So...it's a first try. I wanted to do one for a while, but my icons always seemed to suck compared to a bunch of other people, and a lot of my icon making comes from tips I pick up from others. But I wanted to do a tut anyway. People can like it or hate it. And it's pretty simple. :)

Go from this: to this:

Program used: PS7

So, I have my base:

It seems very yellow and bland, no? Duplicate the base, desaturate it, then go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur with the radius at 3 pixels.

You should get something like this:

Duplicate the base again, move it on top of the desaturated layer, set it to Soft Light, 100%.

Duplicate the Soft Light layer, Opacity set at 30%. Sharpen it once.

You'll end up with this:

It looks better now, right? But still a little yellow. Create a new layer, flood fill it with #002441, set at Exclusion. Lower the Opacity to 30%.

Looks like this:

Create another new layer, flood fill with #99836A, set to Soft Light, 30%.

You get this:

Then, create yet another layer, and we take this gradient: made by the wonderful crumblingwalls. Blend mode to Color Burn, 25%.

Final image (before text) is this:

Now, moving on to the text. I usually like to use lyrics on my icons, but I modify them sometimes. I took a little tibit from "Your Body Is A Wonderland" by John Mayer...who's has an amazing talent, by the way.

Go to Image > Rotate Canvas > 90° CW. Create a new text layer, "porcelain", #C8A0AD, font at Arial Black, all caps, 17pt, Anti Alias at Sharp. Go to Layer > layer Style > Drop Shadow. Color at #000000, Angle at 120°, Opacity at 50%, Distance - 2, Spread - 0, Size - 3.

Create another new text layer, "she's got skin like" with two spaces between each letter, three between each space. #604950, font used is Garamond, 7pt, Anti Alias at Smooth.

Go to Image > Rotate Canvas > 90° CCW.

The text should look like this:

And the final step - create a new layer, I use this brush: in #000000...it's a simple 1px border brush that I've made. Blending mode at Multiply, 35%.

And this is your final product:
