Can I stream to a custom RTMP destination?
Yes, you can stream to a custom RTMP destination by configuring a custom platform in the Castr dashboard.

Yes. You can choose to stream to 30+ supported platforms.

Do I need anything else to stream with Castr
You’ll need an encoder — software or hardware — to work with Castr. While we suggest OBS as the basic, Castr works with any encoder that allows custom RTMP setup. You can also pull directly from IP cameras or from different supported sources.

Does Castr support adaptive bitrate streaming?
Yes. We transcode the streams in the cloud and you have the option to enable or disable the adaptive bitrate streaming options for your livestreams.

Which Content Delivery Network (CDN) does Castr use?
All live video streams are delivered via Akamai and Fastly content delivery networks (CDN). This will help us make sure there won’t be any buffering or lagging to your video streaming quality.

How does the free trial work?
Castr offers a free 7-day trial for the Starter plan. During the trial period, you will have access to 5GB of bandwidth for embeddable players that are used for website streaming and 1GB of video storage. You’ll also have access to various features such as Multistream, Pre-recorded livestream, Paywall, Advertising, cloud recording with up to 3 days of storage, analytics, password protection, etc. However, if you need more streaming bandwidth, additional destinations, or advanced features like adaptive bitrate streaming, HLS URL, RTMP and SRT Pull Links, you'll need to upgrade to a paid plan

What subscriptions plans does Castr offer?
We offer several subscription plans that meet every need. From low cost plans to advanced and enterprise-level solutions. All plans include an embed player with Akamai CDN, multistreaming, video hosting, and paywall features.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes, you can cancel your Castr subscription plan at any time. However, please note that cancellations will only take effect at the next billing cycle.

Can I upgrade/downgrade from my current plan?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade between plans on Castr. Simply go to Billing page and click on the Change button, then select and confirm the plan you would like to upgrade or downgrade to.

What if I go over my total bandwidth on my account?
f you are subscribed to the Starter or Standard plan, your streams will automatically be disabled when you exhaust your allocated bandwidth. Subscribers of the Professional plan or higher will have the overage protection feature activated in the event of bandwidth depletion. In such cases, any additional usage beyond the allocated limit will incur an overage charge of $0.10 per GB. Overages will be billed on a per 1TB basis.

Is there any commitment required to start using Castr?
No. With Castr, you can start streaming without any commitment or contract. Sign up and cancel at anytime.

What are concurrent streams and destinations?
Concurrent streams are the total number of streams (or workflows) that you can create and manage in Castr, and this includes both active and inactive streams. Destinations are the total number of SRT and RTMP destinations you can add across all streams. This limit is based on the account, not on the individual stream.
