Gets students to the concept of the company, the strategic decision on how fast they want to grow, and to discuss some of the important decisions about the supply chain. At the time of the Fall (2006), small “mom-and-pop” stores still dominated Indian retailing, but that was quickly changed because of the entry of “organized” retailers such as Pantaloon. Pantaloon management faced some exciting opportunities as well as some potential competition were entered from global trade, the plan in the Indian market and large Indian business houses who plan were found in the retail business.
