Been watching some of my terrible (and so, unposted) Merlin vids, and found one where I specifically thought, amongst all the dragonblood/dragondaddy rumors from the end of series two, that Merlin would find out that he can control dragons and thus, also, Arthur Pendragon.

Does anyone remember an ep. where Merlin is hiding in Gwen's room in the dark, and comes up behind her and covers her mouth so she doesn't scream? I think he was hiding in her room from Arthur or the knights for some reason?

I had it in this vid at one point and lost track of where the clip came from ...

y'know, for posterity. And because it's Sunday. What better things do you have to do than lounge all day in your pj's and watch vids? That's what I thought.

Because this makes me happy, happy, happy and I LOVE So You Think You Can Dance: Feel It. If this song and dance combo doesn't have you dancing in your chair lookin like a grinning fool then there's something wrong with you :) (Honestly, the season with Will and Twitch and Kherington and Katie and Joshua was my favorite season ever, the only one I got more into the dancers themselves than into the dance routines. But this vid is covering YEARS worth of SYTYCD footage.)

Also, another great song choice that highlights the team of Leverage and all the cool shit they do: In the Ayer. I've seen about 3 eps. of this show and the thing I take away from it is that they always seem to GET CAUGHT. No set-up ever goes down perfectly for these guys and the show is just as much about being escape artists as anything else, so GO. SEE. THIS. VID. It will explain it all to ya.

Now for something completely adorable, a Chuck/Sarah vid: Honey & the Moon. If I remember correctly, I think this was a pinch hit, in which case, AMAZING. And when I say "adorable," I think I also mean "kinda hurts in the good way."

Another really cute 'shipper vid set to Lois & Clark: You Belong with Me. Keep in mind that I also RECEIVED a L&C giftvid of my own that is awesome called Would You Be Mine? but I think both vids are so entirely different on their takes of this classic relationship from Clark's pov. 'Belong' is a vid that shows Clark's struggle to get Lois to notice him and not just Superman, and then to notice that Clark IS Superman and the one she's always been in love with, no matter the costume. In 'Would', Lois is her crazy self and Clark is stupidly crazy ABOUT her, sans the Superman persona, but Lois has so many other hang-ups that she can't see her Smallville for the great guy he really is (until, y'know, she does). Clark! Why are you so misunderstood?

Another awesomely awesome vid for a movie called Chak De! India: Past in Present. I haven't seen this movie, but it tells the story of the first national women's hockey field team in India. This vid is beautiful and the girls in the story are courageous and it will put TEARS in your eyes if you are human and not robot. So ... watch it. I might start suggesting this movie to be watched in my Gender & Women's Studies classes, because, heh, there're only so many times one can watch North Country.

After 3 rec posts I think I'm coming down to the line. There are still a lot of amazing vids but no way can I list them all so check 'em out for yourself as well.

Festirecs part deux

Taking a break from watching the remaining few festivids that are left. I'm going to be experiencing a let-down phase once I get to the end and there are NO MORE VIDS TO WATCH (*sobs*). The theme of this rec list is "Fandoms I've Never Seen Before (and vids that interest me in watching them)."

A very cool vid for Fringe that is my definition of a 'mood vid': Etheric Messages. I'm really into this female character and what sorts of things are happening to her.

A so-cute vid for Big Bang Theory: The Geeks Get the Girls. These guys are adorable and geeky, two qualities I love.

A vid that presents an interesting storyline with a character on The Vampire Diaries: Names. I'd like to know the background of the past that seems to be haunting her.

A Legend of the Seeker vid that is hot and pretty and pretty freakin' hot: Body and Soul. There's pretty and violence and HAIR.

A Twin Peaks vid that is just plain good: Passenger Fever. I've known for awhile that TP is a good show, just never got around to watching it, and this vid creeps me out enough to add it to my queue.

A vid for The Never-Ending Story (and no, I haven't seen this movie, shut up, I was scared of puppets and monster things no matter how cuddly growing up): Le Disko. I just need to go back in time and hand this vid to an 8-year-old me so I could get over my puppety fears a little sooner.

And again, maybe I'll have another recs list once things settle down a bit.

How can people sleep with so many vids to watch? I've made it through maybe HALF of Festivids and it's nearing 4 am and I think it's as good a time as ever to post some vid recs.

(But first off, I must say how cool it is that the festividders are all secret. I can't guess anybody because I can't lie with a straight face and I've been holding my own festisecret now for what feels like forever, so I can't participate in Greensilver's guess the vidder game without possibly saying something stupid and revealing top secret CONFIDENTIAL information, but. I like that I can rec vids based on the vid itself, y'know? I'm in love with this idea.) So, for your entertainment:

Here is a beautiful vid for The Sound of Music, a childhood favorite: Lullabye for a Stormy Night. It captures everything I love about the movie and then some.

Here is a really cool, dreamy, sick & twisted vid for Kamikaze Girls: Enchantment. I've never seen the source but it is a wonderful recruiter vid.

I've also never seen China Beach, but this vid has given me PTSD of the best kind: Mother Mary. It is heartwrenching from beginning to end and sticks with you afterwards.

I used to be a die-hard Dark Angel fan through season 1 and 2 (was there a season 3?) mostly because of my huge crush on Logan, which was satisfied in this vid: Me and My 424. He is such a fucked-up character and I feel like the show shortchanged him a lot in season 2.

But then! I saw this really, really dark!Dark Angel vid and remembered how much I loved a little bit of everything about that dystopian society: Treat Me Like a Villian. It captures that world completely.

And, uh, because it maybe rocked my world a little bit, I send you to a Watchmen vid: Afraid of Americans. This is beautiful and dark and angry and scary and creepy and some other stuff that a vid for Watchmen should be.

... hmmm. I think I'm in a dark place this morning. Perhaps I should attempt some sleep. Happier recs to follow tomorrow.

I was pretty worried last night and today that I'd majorly fucked something up with my festivid because I kept getting an "error compiling movie" message in CS3. I looked through some message boards and did all the things they suggested (took out titles, c&p'd the timeline and project into a new project, changed the save settings, etc.) and nothing was letting the project render past 50%.

Turns out I get a message today. No free disk space.

I think I maybe already knew this somewhere in the depths of my soul. I'm on draft #16 for a reason.

I have a rough draft of my festivid. I wasn't even going to start it before finals but it kind of came together in the last 48 hours (excepting breaks for work, Merlin watching, and sleep).

One of my sources gets cut off when I convert .vob to .avs in DGIndex. I think the last 30 minutes of the movie have vanished in the .avs file. This also happened when I converted an .avi to .avs, but I thought it might just be because my computer doesn't want to watch Freya die even though I've told it repeatedly that Merlin looks really, really pretty when he cries and I'll never be able to make another Merlin vid if I don't have that last scene with Arthur. Is this just DGIndex occasionally deciding to fuck up on the conversion? It's only happened twice but both times have been within the last couple days.

where Bradley was given this play script and convinced Colin that he should take the part. The play was called "Peacekeeper" and in it Colin played a gay prostitute who healed the world. It was a smash hit.

This was possibly conflated in my dreams with a Merlin/Arthur fic where Merlin unites Albion with his dick or something, the details are fuzzy. Possibly someone will mention this on merlin_finders soon enough.
