HP Seasonal Comment-a-thon, Results! <3

And like this the Comment-A-Thon has come to an end.

I know it was a small thing, but you know, it's OK! I love that so many of you kept saying how this little event helped you to comment more, which is exactly the idea behind this. Give a comment, and with so many of you being artists and writers, I hope as you gave love, you received tons of love, too.

Thank you for doing this with me. I wasn't sure if I should, when I first had this idea and announced it, because I had been feeling a bit off and very stressed – I always underestimate how crazy December is, and I'm sure that happens to most of you? – but, but! I am very happy I did. I got to meet several of you, I got to hear how you did, I was vividly reminded that fandom is a beautiful place, with giving people, loving people ready to support each other. So I thank you, for being part of this and for remind me, and hopefully each other, what a joy is to be part of fandom.

Now, the results! \o/

All four Houses did amazing! And starting with Gryffindor, they did GREAT! They were the smallest House in this event, yet they made an outstanding number of 338 points between 4 participants. :D That's awesome! kellychambliss rocked the Gryffindors with 125 points! Congratulations! <3

Next we have the Noble House of Hufflepuff. We were only six Puffs in total who turned in, and we made 682 points! I'm so proud of my house, and congratulations to kitty_fic who made 97 points for the Puffs! YAY!

Then there's the Ravenclaws who were super diligent and the biggest group, too! Between 14 Ravenclaws, they made 1029 points! And a big, huge hug and many congratulations to gracerene, who made 193 points!

And then there are the Slytherins. OH YEAH. There were 10 Slytherins in total and they made, oh my god, they made 1273 points together! And from the Slytherins alisanne made the outstanding number of 338 points. I have no idea when Ali slept. :D But congratulations, sweet!

It's not much, but I hope you keep these little banners as a souvenir! :)

Again, thank you for being here, and I hope to see you soon in a future comment-a-thon, that either you or me feel like doing. There's never need to wait for a special occasion to make one of these, you know! :D

Crazy December ^^

I always underestimate how crazy and busy it's going to be this season. I've been so stressed out that last night I thought I was having a heart attack. No kidding, my chest hurt, and I felt as if my brain was too big for my head, and my arm ached so I called the BF and told him that I was dying.

He asked me if instead of dying I wanted to go to a Pokémon Raid, so I went and I caught that sucker! But I still felt iffy so we went for a coffee.

But in just as good news as not dying, it's been a whole year since I quitted smoking! \o/\o/\o/

Alright, granted, that first month was tough and I did smoke twice, but since then nothing. It's been one year smoke-free for me and I feel great!

Okay, I feel the same, but I know inside I must be doing much better, right?

How is this season treating you though? Have you been commenting?!!?

I had such great intentions at the beginning of the year. I planned to fill a spreadsheet with ever fic (over 1K) that I read this year to know how much read and just to keep it, because it's nice. :D

And I did so well until November. The month I read the most was July and the month I read the least was January.

Then November came and I started proofing Erised and I wondered if I should fill it in November when I read it, or if I should list it in December when it'll be posted. I made the executive decision to list is in Dec since I'm saving the links, the problem is that I had very little time to do extra reading in November so I started re-reading – mostly old faves, and yeah, do I list them again? LOL I mean, surely it counts, it's stuff I read! But at the end decided against it, and then December started and it's like...in December you blink and there are ten fics posted at least. It's awesome and I hope everybody is having the best time.

I love December. It kills me but every year I can't wait for it. :)

I know it's crazy busy so if you're following fests, please don't forget to join the HP Comment-A-Thon! It runs until Jan 6th and you can join in any time you want! :D

Hello! I'm back! And I'm doing a thing! And I'm freaking out because I think it's going to be just me? DON'T ABANDOM ME! Ahem.

It's a HARRY POTTER COMMENT-A-THON! Right in time for the holidays. :)

Using writcraft's Comment-A-Thon format – with permission! – I thought it'd be fun to go run one of these and comment for your House of choice. :D

I think we all agree comments are an important part of our community. It brings us together, it encourages artists and writers to keep creating, often a comment is the beginning of an amazing friendship that transcends time and space. In many ways, comments is how we connect to each other, and this season, as any other time of the year, is important to remember that and celebrate that. So I present you:

I'll be running this here at DW and Tumblr, but you're also welcome to sign up at LJ as well! Please be part of this. <3

Comment-A-Thon's Timeline:

Runs from December 1st to January 6th which is when the Comment-a-thon officially will end. You'll get a couple of days to count your score and submit your final point count until Jan 8th. I'll announce each house winner the 10th. (Don't worry! I'll post a reminder later on the month along with a form. :D)

Since the end of the year is filled with fests and new stories and new art, we'll focus on works being posted through this month. Any pair, or gen fic and art counts!

Being part of this Comment-a-thon is super easy. Basically: One comment, one point. :) BUT! But there are ways for you to get extra points!

HOW TO PLAY:
POINT SCORING: COMMENTS

This is simple: One point per comment. Any story/art created this holiday season counts!

However, if you leave (at least) 31 comments to individual fanworks this month - look at this as a comment per day (Advent series don't count, see bellow why!) – award yourself a BONUS 20 POINTS. Though you can leave as many comments as you want, and please, please do, you can only award yourself this bonus just the once. :)

POINT SCORING: ADVENT FICS

Several writers go the distance and write advent fics/series (comics and drawings totally count as advent!). Given the busy time of the year this seems incredible to me. For those who are going to follow advent works, give yourself a BONUS 20 POINTS for a completed Advent you follow along with your individual point per comment. Bear in mind that you can only award this bonus ONCE, even if you're following several advent series.

For the purpose of this Comment-a-thon, an Advent is going to be a series of 25 stories/ficles/drabbles/drawings by the same author/artist. It doesn't have to be part of a single story/verse/series. If an author is writing 25 fics/drabbles/drawing for individual prompts, it counts as an Advent. :)

Remember Advent points should not be added to the 31 individual comments for that bonus. ^^

Recs are wonderful! :D They absolutely spread good cheer and, as it is with comments, the more the merrier! Award yourself a BONUS OF 20 POINTS for every 10 recs you make!

Actually I think I've forgotten to mention I'm travelling? Yeah, I am. \o/ I'm going on vacations for a week and I'm finally ready! I hate packing but I think this year I did pretty good. :)

Looks so neat. It doesn't look as if just half an hour earlier I had eighty percent of my closet on my bed picking up sweaters for god's sakes as if I'm not going to the Caribbean, capi, seriously and under all that crap there are two jumpers oh my god. :>

ANYWAY. I'm coming back the 29th, just in time for hd_erised and best co-mods in the world are also the most efficient people on the planet so while they are like, 'ines have fun, we have everything covered here!' I'm like MISS ME DAMNIT. LOL

My notes: This is such a delightful little story. I mean it, it's form Albus's POV and his voice is perfection. From him making a potion to make James's nose fall off, to sharing ice cream with him and Teddy to hearing Harry and Ginny and Teddy tell stories as they roast marshmallows in the fire. Seriously, adorable from beginning to end. Will leave you with the biggest smile on your face, guaranteed!

My notes: This is such a cool fic, I'm telling you, it narrates one in many Sundays Scorpius goes to visit his grandparents with Draco, only this particular Sunday is full of revelations. Seriously awesome, the Malfoy family dynamic is brilliant! :D

Summary: t all had began so simply, but when had everything changed? A handsome young man, some gorgeous eye-candy, that's all it was meant to be. Draco hadn't expected to fall head over heels.
My notes: It's Sugar!Daddy Draco and Sugar!Baby Albus Severus! \o/ And it's so much fun, but it's also super touching because this is the moment in which Draco realises how Albus feels about him, beyond any gift, Albus cares, and let me tell you, it's smoking hot!

Summary: If there is one thing that Draco Malfoy really dislikes, it is to be humiliated. And if in addition, the person witnessing the ordeal is Harry bloody Potter, that is definitely enough to leave the Slytherin dizzy with anger. Only, Scorpius happens to be involved, too, and when it comes to the Malfoy heir, Draco has a terrible soft spot. Which is the only reason that the blond doesn't actually end up killing Potter. Naturally.
My notes: This story is hilarious. Like, Draco heard Scorpius with someone, a Potter and he immediately jumped to the conclusion it was Harry Potter, so he went and confronted him!!!!!!1 Only to realise it wasn't that Potter, and now both him and Harry know all too much about Scorpius and the other Potter's relationship. Touching and so much fun. :D

Oh god, I can't believe it's been over a month since I updated this. Actually I really can believe it. *uses whiniest voice* There's just been so much going on. Work has been crazy. A lot of people was let go from the paper so I'm doing the work of maybe 3, 3,5 people these days.

But that's like, okay, work. It's the extra stuff that's also a pain in the patella.

I got this throat infection and I was battling it for over three weeks. It just wouldn't go. I got better, a bit better but not really well, and then it got worse and then better. It was a pain in the ass it's what it was.

Then there was… you know, the rest. And here I'm going to chalk up depression, anxiety and all that that implies. It hasn't been a good few month but I'm getting there.

I got into a fight with my bf and it was one of our most ridiculous ones yet. So he saw a bad movie. You know, one of those bad movies that are bad on purpose and he loved it, he went and bought the DVD and he wanted me to watch it with him.

I'm sorry, no. I mean, God. I'd like to spend my free time doing something I enjoy, right? But he's all if we can't spend time watching a bad movie that the other person loved what are we doing, do you want to break up? Is this the end? because he's a dramatic little shit. :D

Obviously it wasn't too bad but he was so offended I didn't want to watch his bad movie, I felt bad. Not bad enough to actually watch the movie but, you know what I mean.

And then, oh god, then yesterday a mosquito bit me in the face. Yeah, right in my right cheek and it wouldn't be so bad but today I went to get my driver's license renewed. JFC. So I go and I have long bangs and I sort of tried to cover a bit, the big stupid mosquito bite and the guy who took my photo wouldn't let me.

If that wasn't enough, I tried to look my best, since I had this bite in my face and I figured I could put some make up, you know, but just as I was putting eyeliner I sneezed. :/ I look like a Picasso in my photo.

Anyway, that's what's been up with me more or less. ^^

Hi!!!!!! Finally! Back from my vacations at last. A bit latter than I originally intended; the airport in Panama didn't have power for over six hours when I was supposed to come back and a lot of flights got delayed and/or cancelled including mine. I had never truly appreciated how nice and cold airports are. Jeez it was hot!

But I survived my family vacations. No small feat this time since it actually included a hurricane. I'm so sorry if I worried you about this, I did keep in touch with LQ and Birds, and Eidheann, and best co-mods Grace & Cissa and they would have totally updated you if there was something to update. It was rather very stressful until the last day when it was really scary and then it was very busy doing all the things. Thankfully, I know we were extremely lucky in our foolishness. But! Hogwarts, and Hogsmeade, and Diagon Alley were wonderful, but it was crazy, crazy, crazy. ^^

Already running to catch up with life and work and fandom. I was supposed to have a buffer day after coming back but that wasn't possible and in fact it turns out I have to travel this Monday again for work which I was not expecting. It's holiday here, but not in the rest of my country and I totally missed that when I accepted and now, well, traveling in a couple of days and missing a day off. Boo!

I'm going to do my best to try and catch up. I'd throw a 'YAY HOME' but oh my god, I rather feel I need vacations from my vacations and I'm so not ready to be back. :O

But in better news, my nipples are on top of their form so I have that going for me. LOL

Random stuff and then less random stuff.

Today I discovered that nipples clamps are not for me. I was hanging my laundry you see, and I made a terrible, terrible miscalculation when I put the clothespins on my shirt so I could then proceed to hang my clothes.

I am bruised and tender and not in a good way.

Moving on, I'm travelling tomorrow. I'm going to Orlando (because, omg, of course, I wanna go to Hogwarts again) and I'm staying until the 19th. Well, so far my flight hasn't been cancelled so the trip is a go and I am working under the assumption it won't be cancelled, but I guess we'll see? :/

Harry/Draco Big Bang is a community encouraging the creation of fanfics 50K+ and fabulous art. You write your story and collab with an artist that will create art for your fic and together you'll make a gorgeous final piece of fic and art. :D

You can learn more about the process here.

It's very, very early yet, because sign ups open Jan 1st. BUT! It's never too early to think about it! I bet many of you amazing writers have that one story you've been meaning to write for a long while. This is the perfect chance! Not only you'll have the opportunity to have an artist illustrating your but being part of Harry/Draco fun will be so much fun. We'll have activities (seriously, watch the community for future announcements!), chat sessions, sprints and so much more.

There will be lots of things to do for watchers, too. You can be a cheerleader, an alpha reader and help an author or an artist through the creation of their pieces, beta read and generally offer support and be part of Harry/Draco Bang 2018. :)

Summary: Leaving the Aurors, and then England, after his divorce with Ginny was finalised was the best thing for Harry, and for Ginny, too ― but not for the godson who worshipped the ground he walked on. Now that he’s back, all Harry wants is to set up his own place, and to spend time with Teddy as he tries to fix their fractured relationship. Teddy, however, wants something else from Harry, and there’s only so many ways Harry can tell him no.
My notes: This story is gorgeous, it's intense and just, there's Teddy doing his damnest to seduce Harry and Harry, oh man, he's trying so hard to resist! But there's so much more than that, because Teddy has complicated feelings after Harry left [him] and Harry, Harry wants him and feels guilty and boy, I haven't even talked about how hot this is!!!! That rimming scene is—yea, it's good! :D

Putting Out Fires (with Gasoline) by lq_traintracks

Summary: Teddy stays with Harry for a summer to help him figure out his life, or maybe to figure out his own, or to seduce his godfather, or maybe to fall in love.
My notes: This story is beautiful! Teddy is in England and he's staying with Harry and we see these two men getting to know each other, or rather re-getting to know each other. There's so much going on between them, there's this sheer want that grows and grows. They don't talk a lot, but they say so much with these gorgeous gestures towards one another. And Harry, Harry is devastating in his beautiful humanity, how he's vulnerable and how Teddy sees all that—yeah, this story is incredible!

Unexpected Company by gracerene
Pairing Ron/Teddy
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 5K
Summary: Ron doesn’t really know what to do with his new bachelor status, or with himself at this rotten party, but the booze is good, and very free, and Teddy Lupin is turning out to be unexpectedly good company.
My notes: This story has such gorgeous insights into Ron's character, and not only that, but it's smoking hot with Teddy being exactly what Ron needed right now. :D

I'm back, alive and whole, which is a trend I love coming from vacations. :)

I had a lovely time and saw beautiful places. Man, Aruba! That's the place to live. Mark my words, I'm going to retire there.

I saw dolphins at the sea! Like, we had a little window in our cabin that I made my reading nook because I'm a nerd that spend most of her time reading \o/ and I looked out and hey, dolphins! They followed the ship just a few minutes but it was beyond awesome.

I missed you so, so much! How have you been? I'm going to try to catch up – I already did with some verses I'm following (see me being a nerd ^^) but it's a slow process. ^^ Tell me what you've been up to!

I cannot believe I missed prompting for hp_creatures and hd_fanart. I was so sure I had a day or two after I came back or else I'd left my prompts to be prompted by proxy as I've done in the past. :((((( But I'm excited because there are super cool prompts.

You know, for someone who barely knows how to put a bit of blush and lipgloss I sure pack a big bag of makeup.

I do this to myself every single time. I'm going on a cruise, when am I even going to wear all this makeup - under the assumption in the next day and a half I even learn how to apply it, is a mystery. But I gotta take it.

I'm off! Well, first shower, then finish packing (surely I need some jumpers, right?) then dinner, then a nap, but then I'm off.

My notes: This is so much fun, with poor Ron pining away for Harry and yet having to share his house, his room, his bed and now, after Harry's brilliant idea, his shower with him. Yeah, it's as fun as it sounds. And super hot! :D

My notes: This fic is SOOOOOO the cutest thing in the world. It starts with, well, it starts with Al and Scorpius back in school and Al going through a difficult time with his parents' divorce and Scorpius being there and then it follows with after school with Al and Scorpius being roommates and Scorpius having FEELS because Al went on a date and next thing we know he's high as a kite and taking a bath and Albus gets in the bath with him – and I swear I'm not going to finish gushing about this fic. It's adorable. They are adorable together and there's the most perfect proposal in the history of ever, and that's where trouble starts because of course Potters and Malfoys can't play nice. It's super entertaining and FULL of all the feels. <3

Here I Am, Again by snax0
Pairing Severus/Draco

Word Count: 7K Approx.
Summary: Five years after the war, Draco returns to England to work for Severus Snape. He expects an interesting job opportunity, but what he gets is a new nightshirt and a rekindled childhood crush.
My notes: This is a beautiful story. It's about, well, as the summary says, Draco returns to England to work with Snape, but you see, it's beautiful, they way they perfectly work together, how they are in perfect sync and the progress they make in the project they've been working. It's lovely how Draco's crush grows, and then when the moment comes, it's just wonderful finally seeing them together. :)

Summary: That year Snape was Headmaster was the worse time to be at Hogwarts, but for Ginny it was also the best because she found Luna.
My notes: This story is so sweet and wonderful. It's hard, too, because it takes place in Ginny and Luna's Sixth Year, when Snape was Headmaster and it was such a difficult year, and yet, they are so brave all of them, and in Ginny and Luna's case, they find love and comfort in each other. Seriously lovely stuff.

Finally uploaded my new layout for DW. Check it out: capitu. I think like it. :) I sort of had it for ages but it needed some edits here and there, plus I'm fond of my LJ layout so then I figured, I could totally use it for DW. I'm not sure I'm going to get used to it, but for now, hey. Plus, I'm having a horrible week and at least I have this going for me, new fancy layout. ^^

My notes: This story is OMG amazing! Like, read it, read it now! It's about James having been abducted when he was only four to never been found, though the story actually begins when Teddy's about to meet his new Auror partner – a transfer from America. What's so beautiful about this story is just how present James's absence is, like an ache that never healed, and at the same time how Teddy falls in love with Griff – his new partner, who, no, he doesn't fill the hole James left when he was taken, but he seems to somehow make it better, to somehow help not just Teddy but everybody to heal a bit, because he fits with everybody perfectly, everybody likes this new guys and embrace them as a friend of Teddy. And Teddy and Griff are brilliant together, not just smoking hot UST (and then resolved) but they complement each other perfectly too. It's beautiful seeing them in love, and the mystery of what happened to James is going to keep you on the edge of your seat, trust me!

My notes: ALRIGHT! So, here we have awesome Teddy, who Hagrid badgered into taking care of his animals while he's away, finding Scorpius in obvious distress. The problem is that Teddy absolutely terrible at comforting people, apparently, and yet he tries and it's sweet and hilarious at the same time and then when he realises he has, you know, ~feelings~ for this poor distressed kid gets EVEN BETTER! I mean, just check this quote: “No one hates you, Scorpius,” he said in what he hoped was a consoling voice. It sounded weak and meaningless even to his own ears. For all he knew, everyone did hate Scorpius right now. People were fickle fuckers like that. It's hilarious and wonderful and you shouldn't miss this fic. :)
