The CannIntelligence policy tracker provides a centralised location to track the most significant global policy reforms in cannabis. The tracker includes information on the current government\u2019s stance on cannabis reform, the likelihood that the reform will be enacted, the impact it might have, and the timing of the anticipated reform.<\/p>\n

The countries included in the tracker have been carefully chosen by CannIntelligence analysts based on the likelihood that they will be enact impactful reform.<\/p>\n

The policy tracker allows users to spot global opportunities on the horizon that could be opened by regulatory reform and understand how and when the reform will be implemented.<\/p>\n

Reform index: <\/strong>The reform index is a simple calculation based on CannIntelligence\u2019s analysis of how likely we believe reform is and how impactful we believe the reform would be. A darker colour in the map means that we believe the reform is likely to be implemented and\/or that its impact will be significant, whereas lighter colours indicates that we do not believe the reform is as likely to be implemented and\/or that it would not be as significant.<\/p>\n

Impact of reform<\/strong>: The impact of reform indicates how significant the reform could be. \u201cHigh\u201d means legalisation (or criminalisation) of some use of cannabis (hemp, medical, recreational). \u201cMedium\u201d means significant change in accessibility to cannabis products, rescheduling cannabis without allowing broad access, or decriminalising possession. \u201cLow\u201d means legalisation of a subset of products (e.g. CBD vapes), minor changes in product restrictions (labelling, advertising), or the like.<\/p>\n

Area of impact: <\/strong>This section indicates whether the reform would have an impact on recreational cannabis, medical cannabis, and\/or hemp\/CBD. If multiple areas are listed, the areas are ranked, with the most impacted area(s) listed first.<\/p>\n

Current government stance: <\/strong>This section addresses how positive the current government is towards allowing broader access to cannabis. A negative stance suggests that the current government is not supportive of broader access or is in favour of restricting access further.<\/p>\n

Timing: <\/strong>The timing of the potential reform accounts for when we believe that the necessary legislation, regulation, or proposal will be passed, not necessarily when it will be implemented.<\/p>\n
