Amusing musing

If all of the air conditioners in the world were turned on and all of the doors and windows to those buildings were opened, what would it do to the temperature of the world?

Let's put aside the fact that it would probably overload the global power grids. This is of course what make it impossible. Let's put aside the fact that some of the air conditioners in the world don't function well (or at all).

Suppose that it could be done. Suppose all of the air conditioners in the world were operating at peak efficiency and turned on at full blast. Hell, let's even further suppose that all of the other heat generating devices in the world were turned off. Would that amount of cooling make the temperature of the world drop by any measurable amount? Or would the heat produced by the air conditioners and power generation sourced negate that effect?

If the temperature did drop, what would the climactic implications be? Would the earth freak out and go all "The Day After Tomorrow" on us?

That was what bounced through my head this morning while I was eating my pop tarts.

So yeah, I'm back.

Hello :)
