When an old person dies it's different. Young ones shouldn't die. Especially not your own child in the prime of life and not violently. New territory for you; maybe not solved by your old methods, but you will find new aspects of yourself as you deal with it. That's a silver lining.

My body count has gotten pretty high by now, too, and I'm always reminded of what my old vet said when I told him : "Dr. Stallworth, I'm so glad you're still here!" and he replied: "It beats the alternative." I hadn't heard that old line before but it's so true. You're handling this with grace.
