The light has not met me 
as it should have by now
it’s late in the evening 
and somehow
that meeting
has come and its gone
the sky is unclear
and the stars are all wrong
and what is this night 
that the day has become
I was so young

time is a joker
ill-bred, unschooled
loutish and laughing,
 ha yer fooled
yer grasping
here but not there
you’re in yesterday’s chair
and the table’s moved on
and who are these ravers
so drunk on your wine
they look so young

now all unknown
is a shape taking form
entropy’s greeting
I was born
it was fleeting
the dew on the ground
I remember some place
did I ever make a sound?
clawing through chaos
as if boots on the ground
oh to be young

But you’re not gonna beat me
you should have by now
the wee hours of the morning
and somehow
 it’s dawning
the spring has begun
the moon is still silver
and gold is the sun
hallo little daisy
sprung up, wow you're fun
the day is still young ...
