Civilians rest in peace
While he tosses in his bunker
Unaware if he has a tomorrow

Sea world meets
Toy cuddlers and cartoons
Fantasy of the human mind

Sweltering skin
shivers the wrath of ice cold wind
at winter’s abrupt arrival

The last night of 2012 takes with it
sorrows, malice and pain,
cuts envy, swallows greed,
injects optimism in worry and cools anger
And a bright new day opens up
as innocent as a child,
which imbibes its teachings
Is it to be fed with kindness and optimism?
or frustrations and misgivings?
The first day waits

Cooing wordless songs,
soaking tiny legs in water
Mandarin ducks lost in thoughts
This was written for CARPE DIEM a daily haiku meme

The benevolent sky conjures
a heavenly feast for the empty earth,
scattering snow on the lonely bench
drenching the eager tree,
loading trucks playfully,
tossing thin crusts on surprised travellers
and coloring the wet mud,
thus making a creative pattern
of white amongst dark brown

My confidence has betrayed me
and mental strength has abandoned me
Let me to take solace
in the dangerous tablets,
seemingly insignificant
Let me take the first one
and go into dizzy joy
A second tiny one
to escape into a fantasy world
The third one to take me
to a delightful trance
The fourth one to
mild unconsciousness
and the ultimate one
to a dreamless world
with no despair of dawn again
Hi Friends, This is a rather dark theme written for Ermilia’s Picture it & Write.

The butterfly follows me
when I walk,
perches near my seat,
leans forward when I speak
and hovers around
when I sleep
Is he a friend, a confidante?
or a curious bystander?
If he had an ability to converse
or I had the talent of perception,
there would have been a lovely new song
now for you
