Going into the new year Calitabby in its current incarnation is somewhere around 2 years old. Since then a lot has changed in my life, not for the better. To be fully transparent: I do not know what the state of the project will be going forward. Running public-facing services is a lot harder than I ever expected, and while at one point I did get some satisfaction out of doing so that is no longer the case. There have been many attacks on both the services and me personally; it seems I am unwelcome on Matrix in particular. In addition, operating the services puts me at greater risk of legal and other issues. Funding is also a concern.

I need to pull back and focus on actually healthy hobbies and projects, real life relationships and figuring out how to move forward in an increasingly hostile and unstable world. Nothing has been decided for certain yet, however I make absolutely no guarantees about the continued operation of the services. The focus will likely shift to deploying the new alternative frontends and similar services. This is not an announcement I wanted to make but it is necessary.
