The Jays Care Foundation’s work in Alberta is about more than baseball—it’s about creating opportunity for kids. Through partnerships with schools, community organizations and Indigenous communities, Jays Care supports programs that help children and youth build confidence, stay active and feel a sense of belonging. Alberta kids now have a new way to benefit from these initiatives. Funds raised in Alberta through the sale of Jays Care 50/50 raffle tickets will continue to support inclusive programming for kids across the province. More: https://lnkd.in/dMXwdx6E

Saturday night undercover… Last Saturday I spent the evening “undercover” with two inspectors from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Commission. No trench coats. No fake moustaches. Just a walk through some busy Calgary spots to see the nightlife economy in action. What stood out most was how many people were simply enjoying themselves responsibly, across cannabis stores, casinos, and bars. It’s easy to forget how many livelihoods depend on these sectors. Hospitality staff. Security. Operators. Compliance professionals. Regulators. Together they support thousands of jobs and a meaningful part of Alberta’s economy. The experience also gave me a new appreciation for the work AGLC inspectors do behind the scenes. Their role isn’t just enforcement, it’s also about education and helping businesses operate responsibly so Albertans can enjoy these environments safely. Something else that may surprise people: AGLC employs a wide range of professionals, from policy and compliance to data, operations, and field inspection. If you’re looking for work in a dynamic environment that touches many parts of Alberta’s economy, AGLC is definitely an organization worth considering. A fun and insightful Saturday night and a good reminder that responsible regulation helps good businesses thrive. #Alberta #Hospitality #CannabisIndustry #Careers #EconomicImpact #nightlife #casino
