Oh my goodness it's been too long. Good news, I have a brand new Macbook Pro with Photoshop running. As long as I have enough time on my hands I should be updating a bit more regularly. Today's batch has 3 movie favourites of mine: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Garden State and Ghost World.

Peanut Butter Kisses

Today I bring a delicious cookie recipe from this cute little book called 500 Cookies.

Ingredients
225g light brown sugar
115g unsalted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg beaten
140g crunchy peanut butter
2 tbs milk
280g plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
85g plain chocolate chips

Method
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees celcius.

Combine the sugar, butter, vanilla and egg in a large bowl and beat until smooth. Beat in the peanut butter and milk. Sift in the flour and baking powder. Add the chocolate chips and stir until evenly mixed.

Divide into balls and flatten onto a baking tray. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and leave to cool.

Can be stored in an air-tight container for up to 4-5 days.

All Together Cake

I thought I would kick things off with a fresh start and a recipe for some yummy cake. The recipe is from the lovely Frankie magazine's Afternoon Tea, a vintage-inspired cookbook dedicated to the baked goods that kids used to cook with their nanna.

Ingredients:
Cake
1/4 cup milk
125g butter
3/4 caster sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 cup self-raising flour
Icing
3 tablespoons sugar
60g butter

Method:
Preheat to 180 degrees celcius. To make cake combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat for approximately 6 minutes. Grease a cake tin, pour in mixture and bake for 40 minutes.

When cake is cooling make the icing. To make icing, mix icing sugar and butter slowly and add hot, not boiling water while stirring. Add enough water to create a thick consistency and more butter or icing sugar if needed. Once cake is cooled apply icing.

Serve with fresh cream and diced strawberries. Most importantly don't forget to enjoy.
