Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the UW Department of Urology I am thrilled to announce that Yaw Nyame MD MS MBA has accepted the position of Assistant Professor effective July 1, 2020.
Dr. Nyame is a talented surgeon scientist whose training and skills align with critical needs for the Department, UW Medicine, the University, and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. As a practicing urological oncologist, he will add new perspectives in clinical care and training to the Urological Oncology program and the Department more widely. His current research combines health services and genetic epidemiology to better understand the health care delivery and biological mechanisms underlying disparities among African American men with prostate cancer. His work will positively impact the Fred Hutch Public Health Sciences Division and UW CHOICE Institute in addition to our Department, UW Medicine and the Puget Sound VA.
