Latest BTG Issue

This issue coincides with the anniversary of the appearance of Sri Advaita Acharya. When Lord Krishna descended to earth as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the immediate cause of His descent was the appeals of Advaita Acharya, who is an incarnation of Maha-Vishnu, Krishna’s expansion who creates the material world. Satyaraja Dasa’s article in this issue provides much information to help us understand Advaita Acharya, a prominent figure in Sri Chaitanya’s mission.

Lord Chaitanya is not yet widely known today, but the world is gradually becoming more familiar with Lord Krishna, especially because Srila Prabhupada delivered Krishna consciousness outside India. Many non-Indians may know, for example, that Krishna was apparently born in a prison. Like many aspects of Krishna’s time on earth, though, there’s more to the story, as Giriraja Swami informs us in “The Mystery of Lord Krishna’s Birth.”
