I've got so many ideas in my head, and getting them out in a coherent manner can be, well let's just say FUN.
I part academic and part nerd, so that's a real interesting mix.
What will we talk about?
Good question. My areas of focus all center around Islam and Muslim life; more specifically how to live in sync with our values, while still being part of the real world. Being a convert myself, I've had to navigate a lot of very perplexing challenges over the years. It's been even more interesting because of my over 2 decade experience working for various Islamic organizations - from Mosques, to Islamic Centers, to Charities, and even Advocacy groups. Having peeked behind the curtain on more than a few occasions, I've seen the state of our communities up close and unfiltered. I've also seen how our institutions are run; even some of the biggest in the country. That's give me a unique perspective.
This is what I plan to share; that perspective. Along the way, we'll pepper it with Islamic Psychology, Tazkeeyah, Adab, Khuluq, etc. And for a little seasoning, I feel confident in saying that some seemingly bizarre references to comics, sci-fi, and who knows what else will inevitably find its way in there.
