Well Susan Boyle sang again this evening. It was a bit of a shaky start, nerves probably got the better of her for a few moments. Personally, I don't think it was as good as her first performance. But she was, for all that, extremely good. She has a perfect voice for stage musicals and even if she goes no further, she must be assured a long career doing what she loves so much.

Edited for update: Susan has won the public vote and goes thru to the final. Great stuff.

I would like to add that the dancing group Diversity are brilliant and are also thru.

I have had a migraine for 4 days but I am happy today that my hubby is so understanding and looks after me even when I burst into tears for no reason!

I am a very unhappy lady. I went to the tattooist studio today with my daughter and hubby. I showed the chap a picture of the design I would like and he told me that it would take about two hours ( ouch ) and would cost about £140, roughly $205 ( bigger ouch )!!
There is no way I can justify spending this much money. To be honest I was shocked at the cost. I was expecting to pay about £50-£60! So, it's back to the drawing board and searching the net for something simpler and cheaper. Either that, or I will ask hubby to buy me an ankle bracelet!!
I am really disappointed.

Ah well, never mind.

I'm sorry if I worried some of my friends with my sad poem. Here's another that I wrote some time ago, to redress the balance!

Fred

His eyes were bright and sparkling
As he caught my glance,
I thought "This one's worth checking,
I think I'll ask him for a dance."

We danced away the night
To very smoochy songs,
He walked me home by starlight
Sadly it didn't take long.

His hands were soft and slender,
"Like a girls'," my dad said.
His voice was low and tender,
But oh dear, his name was Fred.

"Fred!" mum squeaked," how can it be?
That's just so unromantic!
Oh no my dear, it just won't do,
The thought sends me quite frantic!"

Poor Fred, he tried to look the part,
Wearing shades to look mysterious.
Yet no matter how he tried,
No one could take him serious.

But by this time I loved my Fred
For trying so hard to please.
So we eloped to Gretna Green,
We thought it was a breeze.

My mum, she made a dreadful fuss,
You'd think I'd done a murder!
Dad shook his fist and then he cussed,
Saying he was going to take it further.

But to no avail, for we were wed,
They'd arrived too late to stop it.
Now we're as happy as can be,
For we sold our tale for profit!

Well..............wouldn't you?

Apologising in advance

I'm sorry if I don't post a great deal for the next few days, I'm not feeling too good. I've had a couple of tests and it seems (my doctors words!) my body is crying out for hormones! I also seem to have an infection in my inner ear. The hormones have left me feeling exhausted. The infection makes it difficult to walk in a straight line!! lol
Anyway, it's the tiredness that's doing me in and making life a struggle once again.

I'll pop on when I can for a chat, cos I'll miss you too much if I don't.

A good day

I have written here about struggling with depression, not happy posts. So I thought I'd write about a very nice day.
The past couple of days have been good actually. I've woken up feeling positive and have gotten thru the day in a happy mood, which feels so good. Today, the hubby and I were out and about, just getting bits and pieces for the house and car that he needed. We had a lovely lunch out and toured the local charity shops. Went to Asda's and bought some school clothes for our grandson and a present for hubby's cousin who is 70 next weekend. We found everything we needed without traipsing around lots of shops, so there wasn't too much walking. As usual we came home with bags of bits and pieces.
A very ordinary day. But for me, it was a lovely day spent with my husband, doing what I like doing without too much pain and no angst. And the sun shone. I'm tired but contented. It's the little things.................

Writer's Block: It's Too Late to Apologize

Yes. My best friend, 2 years ago. She betrayed a confidence and passed on information that I had entrusted to her alone. The upshot was, my son was refused a house he had been offered because he had just split with his fiancee and the house wasn't on offer for a single person. Rules and regulations! She has never regretted what she did, only the way she did it. She has never apologised because she doesn't think she's done anything wrong. So I am left with all these bad feelings and unable even to forgive because she doesn't want forgiveness. She was my friend for 25 years. I have not spoken to her since. I don't think I ever will.
