I received this email just before Passover 5779 (2019):<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I would like to share with you a story that just happened to my family, totally inspired by <\/span><\/span>Rebbe<\/span><\/span> Nachman via R<\/span><\/span>abbi <\/span><\/span>Arush via <\/span><\/span>you<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n

Today, I made a list of all the things I would like to buy my children for P<\/span><\/span>assover<\/span><\/span>. I looked at their shoes falling apart, their stained <\/span><\/span>tzitzis<\/span><\/span>, brown <\/span><\/span>kippas<\/span><\/span><\/em> <\/em>(started out as black!) and didn’t know where the money w<\/span><\/span>ould come<\/span><\/span> from. It is only <\/span><\/span>one<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>day until Yom Tov and no <\/span><\/span>s<\/span><\/span>olution was <\/span><\/span>in sight, but I made the list anyway.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

My children kept asking me “When are we going to buy <\/span><\/span>A,<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>B<\/span><\/span>, and C….”<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

 <\/p>\n

I finally said to them<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span> “I didn’t talk to Hashem yet! I am going in <\/span><\/span>my <\/span><\/span>room, closing the door, and <\/span><\/span>I am <\/span><\/span>going to talk to Hashem. Each of you do the same. Go in a corner or under your blankets, whatever, and talk to Hashem<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>” <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n

I sat by myself in <\/span><\/span>my<\/span><\/span> room and knew that I <\/span><\/span>was <\/span><\/span>supposed to say<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>\u201ct<\/span><\/span>hank You.<\/span><\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/span> I thanked Hashem for not giving me money for <\/span><\/span>all<\/span><\/span> the things that I listed and asked Him to reveal to me how it is for my own good. I said thank you <\/span><\/span>for helping me get rid of my <\/span><\/span>arrogance<\/span><\/span> and for realizing that I can only rely on Hashem and no one else. I talked for about 5 minutes.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, my children were in the other room dancing and saying thank you to Hashem that they don’t have new shoes or new <\/span><\/span>kippas<\/span><\/span>. <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

 <\/p>\n

My husband walked into their room and asked them why they were dancing. The answered that they are <\/span><\/span>following <\/span><\/span>the advice of R<\/span><\/span>abbi <\/span><\/span>Arush and thanking Hashem for what they don’t have. <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

My husband said<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span> “If yes, the <\/span><\/span>salvation <\/span><\/span>came<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>“<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n

What happened? Someone called my husband and asked him if he has <\/span><\/span>everything<\/span><\/span> he needs for <\/span><\/span>the holiday<\/span><\/span>. He said almost, but he really wants to get some things for his children. <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The man told my husband to make a list and let him know how much we need<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span> and he will try to give us whatever amount it is<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>!!!!!!!!!!<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I cried. My kids danced. <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n

The end of the story is that he gave us 1,500 <\/span><\/span>shekel<\/span><\/span>s<\/span><\/span>. We got everything we needed and more.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I had to share this story with you.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hashem is SOOOO BIG!<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Note that she said that she talked to Hashem for only 5 minutes! The Evil Inclination often tricks us into thinking that we need to pray for some crazy amount of time in order to get the miracle we need. It\u2019s not true! Even 5 minutes of sincere gratitude to Hashem in a time of trial can be enough!<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n

This story also exemplifies Rabbi Arush\u2019s rule about \u201cSay Thank You and See Miracles\u201d that there is a difference between miracles that someone needs on the spot, and general problems and issues in life.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n

In this story, she didn\u2019t have time to thank Hashem for an hour \u2013 it was the night before Passover already! Probably the busiest day of the Jewish year. Moreover, there were no <\/span><\/span>more <\/span><\/span>days for her to thank Hashem every day <\/span><\/span>for some length of time. As it was, she rushed to buy everything the morning before the holiday. <\/span><\/span>She needed a miracle on the spot \u2013 and she got it <\/span><\/span>in<\/span><\/span> only 5 minutes<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n

However, sometimes people need miracles that are not specifically time dependent. As much as they <\/span><\/span>want <\/span><\/span>a miracle immediately, <\/span><\/span>there is time<\/span><\/span>. <\/span><\/span>The holiday isn\u2019t tomorrow, the person isn\u2019t about to die in the next minute, the fire isn\u2019t already burning in the hallway<\/span><\/span>, etc. <\/span><\/span>In these cases, it is important to be determined and not give up, even if the miracle doesn\u2019t happen right away. <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, Hashem did not punish her for waiting all that time. Why didn\u2019t she think of this idea before and thank Hashem every time her children asked her when they were buying basics in the days and weeks before? Maybe Hashem would be angry that she didn\u2019t <\/span><\/span>bother coming to Him before? Not so! Hashem loves us so much. Hashem didn\u2019t give her the money before in some other way, specifically because He wanted her to have this <\/span><\/span>emuna<\/span><\/span>-strengthening <\/span><\/span>experience! He wanted her to see that nothing would help her except <\/span><\/span>Him, and except <\/span><\/span>emuna<\/span><\/span>. And when she turned to Hashem, He was right there wi<\/span><\/span>th open arms, ready to help, no holds barred, no chips on His shoulder.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hashem loves you and <\/span><\/span>only wants you to turn to Him and strengthen your <\/span><\/span>emuna<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
