I want to remind you again of the words of Rabbi Natan:<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf everyone would listen to<\/span><\/span> th<\/span><\/span>e<\/span><\/span> voice of the true\u00a0<\/span><\/span>tzaddikim<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and give praise and thanks for the good, and also for<\/span><\/span> the<\/span><\/span> bad, then certainly all of the suffering and all of the exile would\u00a0<\/span><\/span>be removed for us, and the complete Redemption would have already come!\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The entire exile of Egypt only happened because the brothers did not recognize Yosef Hatzaddik<\/span><\/span>\u00a0(Joseph)<\/span><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>In the portion of Miketz, t<\/span><\/span>he Torah says that they did not recognize him, and the simple understanding is that when the brothers sold him, Yosef did not yet ha<\/span><\/span>ve a beard. Now, grown and with a beard and dressed like an Egyptian, they didn\u2019t recognize him. But the deeper understanding is that they did not recognize who he was \u2013 the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Gadol\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Hador<\/span><\/span>, the Tzaddik\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Hador<\/span><\/span>\u00a0– the ri<\/span><\/span>ghteous leader of the generation.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n

The brothers did not recognize his righteousness, and they did not believe in him. They never asked him: \u201cHow did you get here? What, you were in jail? You must have been sad and depressed. How did you h<\/span><\/span>old fast to holiness in this pit of spiritual filth, filled with idols and immorality?\u201d<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

They never asked these questions, and Yosef Hatzaddik saw that they did not recognize his spiritual greatness and believe in him. <\/span><\/span>He tried to tell them, \u201cYou intended to harm me, but you see that Hashem brought me here ahead of you, to take care of you in the famine \u2013 everything was for the best!\u201d But they didn\u2019t understand<\/span><\/span>, and they did not even believe in his basic righteousness, that he wouldn\u2019t harm them after their father Yaakov passed from this world.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n

If<\/span><\/span> the tribes had believed in Yosef, he would have explained to them how he survived in Egypt, and explained to them how to say thank you for everything and have true <\/span><\/span>emuna<\/span><\/span> in Hashem \u2013 and the complete Redemption would have come already then!<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n

Hashem gave me a new <\/span><\/span>chiddush<\/span><\/span> (understanding) while I was in <\/span><\/span>Uman<\/span><\/span> over Chanukah. In the end of the portion of Vayeshev, <\/span><\/span>after Yosef interprets the dreams of the baker and the wine<\/span><\/span> steward<\/span><\/span>, <\/span><\/span>he asks the wine<\/span><\/span> steward<\/span><\/span>: \u201cRemember me.\u201d Because of those two words, the wine pourer forgot him, and he was in jail an extra two years more than the original decree.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n

Rebbe<\/span><\/span> Nachman teaches in Likutei <\/span><\/span>Moharan<\/span><\/span> that Mashiach can come every day; every day is prepared for Mashiach. This is true both on the communal level, <\/span><\/span>and also<\/span><\/span> on the individual level. <\/span><\/span>But according <\/span><\/span>to the dream, Yosef knew that the wine steward was going to be saved in another three days. On Yosef\u2019s level, he should have believed that he could be saved already that day! Why wait three days for the wine steward to come before Pharaoh?<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>So,<\/span><\/span> the wine steward forgot Yosef completely, because Yosef had to do <\/span><\/span>teshuva <\/span><\/span>and repent for his lack of <\/span><\/span>emuna<\/span><\/span> that Hashem could save him already that day.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n

Remember that today already, Hashem can save you! Today, literally \u2013 if you believe that everything G-d does is for the best.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n

Someone came to me today and asked me the perennial question: How can I possibly say \u201cthank you\u201d for my suffering?! It\u2019s bad! It pains me!\u201d What\u2019s his story? His <\/span><\/span>wife goes to her mother every day and it causes him incredible suffering. He comes home after a hard day of work and the house is empty.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n

The answer is: There are only two, and not three, options. Either you believe that Hashem does everything for the best and you say<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span> \u201cthank you,\u201d or you don\u2019t believe, and you deny the truth. These are the only options!<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n

I told him, and I am telling all of you who asks: \u201cBut it\u2019s hard for me, I am suffering!\u201d <\/span><\/span>Whatever it is that you are going through – k<\/span><\/span>now that when you get to <\/span><\/span>Shamayim<\/span><\/span>, to Heaven, to the Next World \u2013 they are goin<\/span><\/span>g to show you how everything was absolutely for your very best. And you are going to feel such shame! You are going to say to <\/span><\/span>yourself<\/span><\/span>, \u201cWow, not only did I not appreciate that everything was really good, but I even complained and cried<\/span><\/span>, and I thought it was the worst thing for me!\u201d How hard is it going to be for you when in Heaven, you see that everything was for the best!<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

But there in the Next World, where the truth is clear, this knowledge will no longer help you.<\/span><\/span> Then you will believe, but it won\u2019t help you! You won\u2019t be able to say, \u201cI\u2019m sorry! I am sorry that I didn\u2019t believe, I am sorry that I cried and complained.\u201d Chazal says that the worst <\/span><\/span>Gehinnom <\/span><\/span>(Hell) there is in the Next World is the shame<\/span><\/span> of \u201chow could I have done that?\u201d The pain of the shame of \u201cHow could I not have believed in you, G-d? How could I have cried and co<\/span><\/span>mplained?\u201d <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Now, here in this world, you <\/span><\/span>have to<\/span><\/span> illuminate your <\/span><\/span>emuna<\/span><\/span>! This is one of the most important points that I try to strengthen people with: You must <\/span><\/span>actually believe<\/span><\/span> that everything is for the very best. Right <\/span><\/span>now,<\/span><\/span> in this world you cannot see it, but when <\/span><\/span>you get to Heaven, you will see how it was really all for the best. <\/span><\/span>There, you’ll see this truth, but here you <\/span><\/span>have to<\/span><\/span> believe.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Remember <\/span><\/span>that <\/span><\/span>emuna<\/span><\/span> begins where you cannot understand with your mind<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>You <\/span><\/span>have to<\/span><\/span> strengthen yourself w<\/span><\/span>ith w<\/span><\/span>hat <\/span><\/span>Rebbe<\/span><\/span> Natan <\/span><\/span>teaches: \u201cF<\/span><\/span>or sure all the suffering will be cancelled<\/span><\/span>.\u201d For sure! Definitely! Certainly!<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

You<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>hav<\/span><\/span>en\u2019t <\/span><\/span>found your soulmate <\/span><\/span>– <\/span><\/span>that’s <\/span><\/span>tough. S<\/span><\/span>ay <\/span><\/span>\u201c<\/span><\/span>thank you<\/span><\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>and <\/span><\/span>believe it’s for the best <\/span><\/span>– <\/span><\/span>really believe and for sure it will be canceled. You don\u2019t have income; for sure this suffering will be cancelled. You have debts <\/span><\/span>– <\/span><\/span>for sure for sure this suffering <\/span><\/span>will<\/span><\/span> be canceled<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>E<\/span><\/span>very<\/span><\/span>thing<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>– <\/span><\/span>each and <\/span><\/span>every<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>form of suffering \u2013 <\/span><\/span>Rebbe<\/span><\/span> Natan said \u201ccertainly!\u201d Not maybe, not hopefully – \u201ccertainly! For sure!\u201d Thank Hashe<\/span><\/span>m for thirty minutes every single day \u2013 you <\/span><\/span>have to<\/span><\/span> believe with real <\/span><\/span>emuna<\/span><\/span> \u2013 and all of the <\/span><\/span>suffering will end \u2013 with certainty! <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Someone once asked me to promise that the suffering will end. I told him, \u201cYou don\u2019t need me to promise.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Rebbe<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Natan promised!\u201d I<\/span><\/span>\u00a0keep saying it over and over, and I keep explaining it over and over – i<\/span><\/span>n Heaven you will see how it was for the best<\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u2013 for now, you\u00a0<\/span><\/span>have to<\/span><\/span>\u00a0believe<\/span><\/span>\u00a0in Hashem!<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
