The entire staff of\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Breslev<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Israel mourns the very difficult news that Dr. Zev Ballen<\/span><\/span>, Ha<\/span><\/span>Rav Zev Chaim Mordechai Ben Yaakov<\/span><\/span>,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>died of a heart attack on 26-Tevet-5781 (January 10, 2021). Dr. Ballen wrote hundreds of articles for the website, in addition to hundreds more videos. This is in addition to so many people he helped personally, doing\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>emuna<\/span><\/span>\u00a0 counseling, on tours, and so much more. He was a very righteous man who used all his resources to help others and teach them\u00a0<\/span><\/span>emuna<\/span><\/span>, teach them the truth, and help them navigate through their personal troubles. He was quite possibly the best\u00a0<\/span><\/span>psychotherapist the field has ever known.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Ballen is now in the World of Truth, the next world. There, he no longer can perform mitzvot and keep G-d\u2019s commandments on his own. However, his soul can still be elevated by the deeds of others! <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Ballen gave us so much \u2013 now it is our turn to give back to him.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

It is customary to light a candle in his honor and learn <\/span><\/span>Mishnayot<\/span><\/span><\/em> <\/em>in his honor (Mishna in Hebrew is based on the same root as<\/span><\/span>  <\/span><\/span>neshama<\/span><\/span>,  <\/span><\/span>soul). <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

However, the very biggest merit you can give him is to learn <\/span><\/span>emuna<\/span><\/span>! Technology is so amazing \u2013 even though he is no longer in this world, you can still read his <\/span><\/span>articles<\/span><\/span><\/a> and even watch his <\/span><\/span>videos<\/span><\/span><\/a>. Through this, you enable Dr. Ballen to fulfill Rebbe Nachman\u2019s teaching that a person must leave behind students, so that through them learning his teachings, it is as if he is alive in both this world and the Next World, at the same time.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
