My online software AHP-OS is mainly used in research. Projects handled with AHP-OS cover a wide range of applications like healthcare, climate, risk assessment, supplier selection, hiring, IT, marketing, environment, transport, project management, manufacturing or quality assurance. Some of these projects could contain sensitive data. Therefore I finally decided to secure the site with HTTPS to protect the site and users.<\/p>\n

What is HTTPS?<\/h4>\n

HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) is an internet communication protocol that protects the integrity and confidentiality of data between the user’s computer and the site.\u00a0Users expect a secure and private online experience when using a website. We encourage you to adopt HTTPS in order to protect your users’ connection to your website, regardless of the content on the site.<\/p>\n

Data sent using HTTPS is secured via Transport Layer Security<\/i> protocol (TLS<\/a>), which provides three key layers of protection:<\/p>\n

  1. Encryption<\/b>\u2014encrypting the exchanged data to keep it secure from eavesdroppers. That means that while the user is browsing a website, nobody can “listen” to their conversations, track their activities across multiple pages, or steal their information.<\/li>\n
  2. Data integrity<\/b>\u2014data cannot be modified or corrupted during transfer, intentionally or otherwise, without being detected.<\/li>\n
  3. Authentication<\/b>\u2014proves that your users communicate with the intended website. It protects against man-in-the-middle attacks<\/a> and builds user trust, which translates into other business benefits.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
