2025 BP28 Gala raises over $1.3 million!
The BP28 Gala hosted by Kristen and Buster has raised over $7 million in funding for new research and treatment for kids facing cancer.
Watching our community come together on September 11, 2025 in the fight against pediatric cancer filled us with immense gratitude. Seeing many young survivors present, including Lily, Quincy, Rory and Enzo, who have been part of this journey with us since the beginning, brought us so much hope and reminded us why this work matters.
We were inspired to hear from Dr. Will Temple about UCSF’s efforts to end this terrible disease by throwing a curveball at cancer. Jeff Berry, representing the V Foundation, reminded us why Kristen and I were inspired to join this fight in the first place, and how far we still must go. Timothy Wayne shared his incredible voice and brought us together through music, and we shared joy and laughter with our friends and Giants broadcasters, Kruk and Kuip.
Most importantly, it was deeply moving to hear the Murdoff family’s story firsthand. Charlotte’s impact was felt across the field as Maggie and Matthew remembered her laugh, spirit and joy for life. Inspired by her family, and by all of the children present, we together raised an impressive $1.3 million so we can move the needle on pediatric cancer research. Thanks to the generosity of our event partners, 100% of the funds raised through BP28 go directly to research.
Proceeds benefitted our partners at the V Foundation and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals.
- The V Foundation supports top scientists in the country and has awarded over $310 million in research grants for all cancers and almost $66.7 million of that has been dedicated to funding pediatric cancer research grants nationwide.
- UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals Early Phase Clinical Trial Program has been funded by past BP28 events and has given children with relapsed and rare cancers access to new treatments. UCSF is also applying precision medicine – using genomic insights to provide children with personalized therapies.
2023 BP28 Gala Raises over $1.1 million!
The BP28 Gala hosted by Kristen and Buster has raised over $6 million in direct support for new research and treatment for kids facing cancer.
Kristen and Buster welcomed supporters at Oracle Park on September 7 to make a difference for kids battling cancer. This year’s event was truly special and featured a special musical performance by singer-songwriter, Jay Allen!
Event costs are underwritten by the Poseys and their event partners, the San Francisco Giants, Bon Appétit Management Company and Duckhorn Vineyards; 100% of all donations for the BP28 Gala supported pediatric cancer research.

The Poseys Raise over $1 million at BP28 Takes the Field in 2021!
Kristen and Buster were delighted to welcome nearly 250 very generous friends and supporters to BP28 Takes the Field on September 27, 2021. The event benefitted the Posey Family Grants at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
BP28 Takes the Field took place entirely outdoors on the field at Oracle Park to help ensure the health and safety of all guests. Cocktails on the field were followed by a delicious dinner by Bon Appetit Management Company, with wines provided by Duckhorn Vineyards. An auction of memorable experiences brought excitement to the program, with guests bidding on a round of golf with Buster, an exclusive wine tasting experience at Duckhorn Vineyards, hosted by CEO Alex Ryan, and more. Country music artist Tyler Rich capped off the evening with an intimate musical performance featuring his hit songs, Leave Her Wild and Better Than You’re Used To, among others.
The highlight of the evening was hearing from a truly remarkable family who has been impacted by this terrible disease – Patrick Sullivan, dad of Rory and incredible fund raiser for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, passionately shared how much work is still to be done in this fight. Even after her battle with Wilms tumor, Rory is still suffering the long-term health effects of the toxicity of current treatments – and she is not alone. As many as 85% of pediatric cancer survivors deal with lifelong medical complications. It has been said that pediatric cancer is either a death sentence or a life sentence. Together, with everyone’s support, we’re working to make it neither.
